This is flying business class. Swiss begins to feel like a low cost"

Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

We were surprised that we were served a dinner right after we took off, but the hot entree was bad, so we ended up asking the flight attendant bring us more bread so we filled up on that."

What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

I was assured there would be no problems. Upon boarding they were not able to get on their flight. I was told that the chance of my losing the new seat was minimal, as the computer was very overbooked and rarely wrong. I was then told at the gate that I had to wait there, and did so, despite having already checked into a lounge (for a fee), because I needed to print a bank bill (my reason for going to Moscow from Vienna, not directly home from Vienna to New York, is to pay a fee into an account at the bank). So I waited, and in the meantime contacted my friend in Moscow to tell him I'd be arriving 10 hours later than planned. Then at the very last minute that 2 people who had booked for the flight had not appeared, and that I had to board it. Hugely frustrating on account of the endless assurances made."

Started to feel like they were purposely trying to screw me."

The boarding process was a disgrace with elderly people standing in long lines for almost 30 minutes after the last boarding call announcement. ELAL management WAKE UP! You have a lot to improve if to compete."

Firstly i took a backrow seat hopeing for some more space unfortunately the way the plain was set up there was an obstical behind my chair and i could recline there was no leg room and the seat was dirty i fell asleep and missed all the meals and the screen on my chair was broken so no entertainment. On the flight back i made sure to get a exit seat but i was aganist the window and the bottem of the plane door gave me less room than a normal seat the tray is stowed one the side of the seat and it was in a filthy compartments sorry guys i dont ever want to fly with you guys again 9 hours of this was just to much."

There was no menu for the tv, & the majority of the movies were in French with Hebrew subtitles, unwatchable for this English-only person. This was a 15 hour flight. They fed us a tiny tasteless breakfast as soon as we got on & brought nothing around for seven hours! Just before they served dinner, I walked back to ask when they were serving & found they had tuna sandwiches in the galley, However, THEY NEVER TOLD ANYONE ABOUT IT!!! I fly to Israel twice a year, & this was my first unpleasant trip with El-Al. I think I deserve compensation. Thank you. Harriet"

That means, if you missed the beginning of a film, you have to figure out when it starts again, and hope to be awake to watch it. We've moved past that even in shorter European flights by now. Contra: "First of all, I had a terrible time checking in with the App - it did not work and so I had to check in at the airport. However, if you don't check in with the check-in kiosks at the airport, you get charged extra. I have an older passport that does not have the capability of scanning at a check-in kiosk. The staff was unapologetic and despite the app and kiosk problems, made me pay to check in. Additionally, I tried to add bags on the app the day before the flight. Because the App wasn't working, it did not record one of the bags I wanted to check and we were forced to pay $70 (twice the online price) for that extra bag despite the fact that it was Up's fault for having a malfunctioning app. I understand this is a budget airline, but I have never had problems like this with EasyJet or Ryanair staff."

They reminded me with outdoor vegetable and fruit markets where farmers and gypsies yell to sell their products; they charge for everything, offering nothing on a 4 hrs flight, not even water. Not sure if it is a language barrier, but they are very rude and impolite in English. I really wish there was a single good thing to say. Even the pilots are the worst i've seen. Very rough landing every single time"

I was on a work trip followed by a vacation, the vacation got cut short and I had to cancel the flight, unfortunately there was no way to cancel online and due to the nature of my job I cannot make phone calls to the states. I was not expecting a refund just an easy way to cancel the ticket online."

Contra: "Oh, boy. First, this flight was super late and they wouldn't admit it. I went to the gate at boarding time, and the staff rudely pushed me away, saying I misunderstood the gate number. I double checked, and no, that was indeed the right gate. This lasted until the airport announced the final boarding call for my flight, and people started lining up.Then the staff had to admit that this was the right gate and the plane was just late. We didn't start boarding until way after the announced time (which they didn't bother to update on the screen until it passed. Extraordinarily disorganized. Second, the flight crew was loud and kept the lights turned way up on an overnight flight. Everyone around me was trying to sleep, and they were woken up by the crew yelling "DO YOU WANT COFFEE?" 5 rows away. Even when they finally dimmed the lights 3 hours into the flight, they kept the Tv's on, so the flashing advertisements prevented me from sleeping restfully. Third, you have to pay for coffee and tea. Who does this? They also begin their flight with loud, obnoxious music that jolts everyone awake (see above for this being an overnight flight). Overall, only choose this airline if you're okay with being kept forcibly awake and you don't mind the flight being late. Oh, and you have 2 euros to pay for simple tea."
