Contra: "We did not like anything about the trip to Houston from Istanbul. To sart with, we were told by Turkish Airline staff to go to the gate more than 1 hour EARLIER than the flight to Houston. Once we arrived at the gate, we were told "I cannot help you with anything about your flight. That is another department" and we to wait our turn and wait for someone to take us down the jetway. We waited for 75 minutes (1.25 hours) until after EVERY OTHER PASSENGER was on board. The flight attendant was unresponsive to us, talked down to my husband and me in a way that was insulting, rude, demeaning and very nasty. When another passenger complained that he did not get the seat that the attendant just changed for him, FOUR flight attendants helped him - one person got on the phone with someone (I don't know who), another went down to his seat to see where he was sitting. Yet another came and tried to explain why they couldn't help and finally a fourth tried to speak with another attendant on board. Whether or not his problem was solved, I don't know, but this was in the middle of our conversation (with only one attendant, I will add), and so his attention was taken away from us and put on him. Our seats were changed from seats closest to the bathroom to the middle of the plane. My husband cannot walk so 14 rows walking was not possible. I will say that finally, it took three volunteers who offered their seats to us to sit near the much needed bathroom. Regarding being seated near the bathrooms, when we asked for an aisle chair (that they told us they had on board) we were told to "stand there. we will get one in around 10 minutes). And, the wheelchair was sent all the way to the BAGGAGE CLAIM and NOT GATE CHECKED, when we arrived in Houston, we can clearly see the frame is bent, the wheels are out of alignment and the brake is also bent out of shape. The wheelchair is a custom made chair just for my husband. We will be sending Turkish Airlines the bill for a new chair if it cannot be repaired. I hope you can see to address these problems. I am not hopeful it is not normally like this for Jews who wear their head coverings. We would welcome a further conversation about our experience in hopes that others do not have the same one we did. Vivian and Henry Blum"
Pro: "Never got the chance to actually try it."
Contra: "I was penalized because of a political issue between USA and Turkey. I couldn't get the visa to travel there, and despite that I couldn't get a refund. I am 1k with united air, and will never include THY in my plans."
Contra: "I had a 22 hour layover. On the website, Turkish Airlines advertises they cover hotel rooms for anyone with a layover exceeding 15 hours. However, it's impossible to get a e-visa to allow Americans to leave the airport to take advantage of this. There is one hotel inside the airport, however it's extremely expensive and booked well in advance. While the service was decent on the plane, inside the airport the TA employee's were very rude and not at all helpful. So be prepared to spend the night on the floor or an uncomfortable bench. Won't fly on this airline ever again."

Finally, someone at the airport helped in re-booking our flights but I have yet to have anyone give me an answer regarding compensation! In addition, we are traveling with an infant which isn't easy but we had the bassinet seat on our original flight. Now it's sold out for the flight tomorrow and no one will assist in trying to help get us better seats. I understand things are out of your companies control but being in an airport with an 18-month baby isn't easy and no one in this company has made this crazy travel schedule easier. I would like someone to call me back or email me with something that could maybe be done to help us! No one at the call center will help!"

I asked to transfer to the next flight, but the staff there argued with me and refused to do so, saying I must purchase another ticket. I was forced to purchase a visa, go through passport processing, and purchase a new ticket that cost nearly as much as my entire round trip ticket from the US. I then had to pay to stay overnight in a hotel and had to make alternate arrangements to meet my hosts when I finally reached my destination."

Contra: "I didn't like anything! My seat was broken, didn't move , the seat arm was broken , TV screen was broken and the crew didn't have the curtesy to even bother to upgrade me to a better seat. Instead the dumped me to the second to the last seat all the way in the way which the seat didn't work either. I been on the broken seat with my neck braces around my neck on (due to a neck injury) for 11 hours and the crew didn't give a damn about me!!"

Contra: "This was one of the worst days of my life, health-wise, so it could be that my observation of the passage of time was somewhat distorted, but Turkish did everything either slowly, or more slowly on this day. First, name two things on a flight line that are wheeled, movable objects. Did you answer bus and plane? Well done. So if both bus AND plane are theoretically mobile, why then must I endure a long walk AND a long bus ride? Boarding was an hour-long event, probably due again to inefficient ground services. I fell asleep and woke up twice before it was over."

Flights on time, planes up to date with clean toilets, comfortable seats and working IFE. Helpful Lufthansa staff. Food was good, but can always be better, esp vegan and vegetarian food loaded from the USA. Overall great experience.
If my transfer flight wasn’t cancelled and my luggage wasn’t sent to Milan
The turn time for a connecting flight from Europe to the US was only 40 minutes. We had to run through the airport, wait in passport control and the barely made the flight. Also, were were told at the counter that the maximum carryon weight was 9KG and were forced to check our two carryon. When we got to the gate, the size allowable was 11KG. Both checked pieces did not make the connection and are delayed two days. This all happened because of the 40 minute landing to takeoff time difference. When I asked the counter people about this being too tight, they said Lufthansa has a problem with this as it happens all the time.
Excellent staff, overall good flight. However, quite a few crying toddlers for 10 hours makes it less pleasant

For 20 minutes crew stood around in the airport talking to each other and using their cellphones. Finally the transport bus was loaded only to have the bus driver get out, and talk to another employee while simultaneously using his phone. No information was given for the delay and the plane was boarded at time of departure. This careless and unbothered attitude resulted in a missed connecting flight for my partner and I. We were completely unassisted by crew on the plane and ended up having to wait 24hours for our next flight home. Absolutely disgusted by the service provided from Cluj to Munich. I would seriously consider another airline before booking again with Lufthansa for this route."

One of my worst experiences and rest assured if I’m given a chance I will never choose Lufthansa again."

Lufthansa has no option to check in online if my first flight leg is united. This is a very big drawback and also the reason I would not prefer to fly Lufthansa again. United is bringing the quality down."

The connection flight was a bit redicilous, 1 hr to walk to the other terminal in frankfurt, the 1 hr flight delay , the boarding was like a zoo, no initiative to take control and organize the boarding, the elderly and the children and crammed withe other passengers.."

Contra: "There was a last minute plane change, with resulted in a lot of confusion and unhappiness as we boarded. For those of us who checked in at least a day in advance, the loss of a window or aisle seat was troubling. Even more frustrating were the parents who requested a bassinet seat, were confirmed for that seat at check-in prior to arriving in Munich, and then being told that there were no more bassinet seats. Also, only one row was opened to scan your ticket and board - which made the process very slow and frustrating."

Contra: "United Economy is very tight and uncomfortable. Flight was delayed and no one said why until I overheard a crew member say it was going to be 15 min for paperwork. Snacks were scant. Boarding was chaotic, but it was a pretty packed flight. Not enough seats in the board in area for a plane that big. Screen for movies was far away or small and not individualized like most planes."
Contra: "My whole experience with Lufthansa/united was horrible. We booked our tickets on kayak and it was a Lufthansa flight operated by United. When we went to check in at the united counter they told us there was no record of our flight even though we had printed our receipt which had confirmed ticket numbers. It took over 30 minutes for them to figure out they needed to call Lufthansa to get the ticket transferred and in the end blamed us for not doing that ourselves before the flight! I thought this was insane as I have flown with multiple other airlines and never had this problem. And then once it was fixed for the way there we still had problems again on the way back. Never flying United/Lufthansa again."
Not the best crew. Extremely annoying with mask wearing. Even when I was eating and drinking they would come up to you to tell you to wear your mask. Extremely annoying.

I had to stand for about 50 minutes, either on the crowded bus or, after climbing with great difficulty three flights of stairs to a high jet-bridge (I am 76), standing there forever with 200 persons waiting to get access to the plane. Totally unacceptable. They started the boarding process early (50 minutes before departure), but passengers were allowed to actually board the plane at the time it was supposed to take off."

At some point a flight attendant even tried to touch my dog, invading my personal space. When the dog rightfully acted defensive trying to protect me, the crew member started threatening me that he would have the dog sent to cargo, the last thing a person with an emotional support pet wants to hear. Extreme lack of professionalism."

Pro: "Loved the lovely food and wine from Air France, they even serve fresh french bread with camembert, ice cream, champagne (in economy) and brandy with your coffee!"
Contra: "The cabin on the 777-200 was far too hot (about 25c) and with no individual air vent I found this unbearable on a 12 hour flight. And despite the flight taking place entirely during daylight hours and leaving at 10:30 am, inexplicably we were made to all pull our blinds down and the lights went off after a couple of hours - in the middle of the day and for about 8 hours! So although I had paid for a window seat there was nothing to see apart from the window shade. As it was the middle of the day I could not go to sleep, the person in front of me reclined fully so for me the flight was a hot, claustropobic, dark hell. An utterly miserable experience. I felt like I was going mad, trapped in my own little cell."

Pro: "The flight went smoothly from boarding to landing. The crew was helpful, kind, & courteous. I would definitely fly Air France again. Online check-in was also easy to follow and complete."

Contra: "I paid for an exit row and got a regular seat without refund. I will have to fight for that apparently. The plane was very old, dirty, in bad repair. The seat did not decline, the screen of the monitor was cracked, the bathrooms were disaster zones, there was literary nothing on the entertainment program. The passengers were nice though!"
Contra: "My whole ticket was determined and I had 2 transfers from Copenhagen to Poland and my language was missing and still not found"

Contra: "The gate agents were forcing random people to check in their hand luggage, even before weighing that luggage. They also check the hand luggage to make sure it fits in the "template" and weigh it (a second time) at the gate. Once on-board, they then announced that they were waiting for other connecting passengers. Took about 45 minutes. It would be nice to know that before booking that they do this, and also before boarding, even if it makes more sense to start boarding before they arrive (but 45 minutes before?). The live map on the public screens in economy showed a dummy/overview map with "waiting for data" the entire flight, rather than the actual live map. Premium did have the data on their screens, and the individual screens also worked fine. Not sure what happened there..."
Pro: "Flight was fine, and on-board crew was polite and helpful."
Contra: "Both the check-in AND gate agents seemed to ignore that you are allowed one personal item (e.g. purse) and one small rolling suitcase (sized and weighed as per LOT requirements) and tried to insist that we check in our small suitcases (for free). In the end, they did relent, but I was surprised at this. There was a small but decent variety of snacks for this 4+ hour flight."
Contra: "The flight was 2 hours late and the gate staff was with zero information. And then - we started to board finally and I had no seat! I had paid in advance for two seats next to each other for myself and my boyfriend and they moved me to another seat and then said to bad, complain to polish airlines! We were sitting there for 2 hours and they couldn’t come and tell us they were moving me, they just separated us and said too bad?"
Contra: "Flight cancelled with poor communication."
Pro: "The entire cabin crew was excellent. Service fabulous. Requested vegetarian meal. It was supurb. Very unusual for flight from. Eastern European countries They exceeded my expectations . Thank you"
Contra: "Boarding from. EWR WAS lousy. Flight going to Warsaw was delayed to start with . They did not announced . Only shown on screen. They have to definitely announce to the passengers THEY WILL BOARD AS PER GROUP NO. . NEED NOT MAKE A BIG LINE JUST RELAX ON THE CHAIR . PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF STANDING in the line for a long time May be they need to have more group Nos to easy facilitate boarding . This is only a suggestion. If they want to improve customer experience and travel again with them"

Contra: "Lot charged us a baggage fee, even though when I checked their baggage policy online it started that I was allowed one check I'm up to 23kg and one carry on for free. I even showed the guy the policy and he still denied me. False advertisement at its finest, you know what can happen to a business that has false advertisement.... Right?"
Contra: "There was a delay on their first flight and then the same LOT company does not wait for our connection. After that we are send for one night at a crappy 1 star hotel in Warshaw."
Pro: "The crew was nice and courteous. Many amenities to pass the time. Getting off the plane was quick and painless. Food was reasonable."
Contra: "The flight was delayed an hour, which is fine, but no information was given to why and we started boarding at the updated takeoff time. The process of getting zones lined up and on the plane was a mess. They didn't communicate clearly about zones so every passenger got up and in line, lines weren't directed well, and people kept getting chastized for not knowing what was going on. Once we boarded the plane, we sat for an hour with no reasoning why we waited. When you already have a 9 hour flight, less time stuck in your seat is best. It was hard to understand the pilot when he spoke in English to know why we had delays and any updates while on the plane."

Contra: "I had to pay 70 Euros for luggage one way, while there was no information that my ticket does not include luggage. Actually, economic tickets (as mine) should have allowed for trips in Europe a checked in luggage according to the company website. I do not find any information regarding how I can pay for my luggage in advance, and not at the airport."
Pro: "Good onboard service."
Contra: "LOT runs on very outdated IT systems and as a consequence often ends up losing your reservation. This has happened to us again. To fix it we have no navigate a series of different agents all of whom had the attitude you'd expect from an ex-communist airline. Pity because onboard staff and planes are ok. Overall proceed with caution."

Contra: "They lost my luggage in the outbound direction and no-one appeared to care. When I called the number that they provided frequently no-one answered. Even when I finally got through, no-one could provide me ANY information as to the whereabouts of my bag. It finally showed up on the last day of my stay, but it was delivered to another hotel (which I only figured out after about 10 phone calls). Also, they offer perhaps the worst in-flight video selection I have ever seen."

Contra: "There is basically no room for passengers left on those airplanes, it's a disgrace. The food is a joke."

Contra: "The check in agent in Riga was very rude. There were two people ahead of me, and a regular line and a priority line. There was no one in the priority line. The first person was served. The woman at the priority line said, "Next," and the woman ahead of me approached, and was told it was the priority line. THERE WAS NO ONE IN THAT LINE. Having witnessed this, I did not approach when she said, "Next." She chastised me for this severely. I am hearing impaired and I was not sure what exactly she said, but it was completely inappropriate behavior. And when I have to pay for coffee, I don't expect it to be instant, and weak, and terrible."
Contra: "Saw some sort of a bug crawling around...perhaps try and have a deep clean of airplane sometimes :)"
Pro: "That it landed safely."
Contra: "Too many kids and parents that think other passengers must put up with their kids. The "new system" spilt up my wife and I and we sat in different rows. Nobody seemed to be able to fix it and told us we could have booked our seat 24 hrs in advance online but the 24hr advanced option had 0 available seats. Why is it acceptable for any company to think that, when booking two or more people under one reference/ booking number, its ok to split up the people on that booking...? Would a car rental place give me two cars because they wouldn't want my wife and I to be in the same car??? When I explained my frustration, They all agreed with me, that they would be just as frustrated but nobody could do anything about it. A lady next to me (again, not my wife as she was in a different row) ordered a special meal that was not filled for her. She ate two rolls and the flight crew was not prepared for a mistake someone made with the prearranged food order. It is not a waste of money to have an extra few meals on the plane to accommodate "emergency" issues like someone forgetting to read their "to do" list with special needs. LOT Polish Airlines had become a disappointment for many passengers. Not my first flight with them and seems that they get worse every time I'm in one of their airplanes. Probably will look for other airline options when traveling to Poland in the future."
