Pro: "Qatar is quite possibly the best airline in the world, especially on its long haul flights. It is heads above the other two major Persian Gulf airlines. All the employees with whom I dealt were excellent and customer-oriented. The planes between Doha and London were new, had more space than older planes and had an excellent selection of movies and TV shows. I ordered special meals on all the flights, and I was very satisfied. I have been a fan of Qatar Airways since I flew it to Australia in 2011. It continues to do a superb job, even in Economy."

The crew worked with great pains within a difficult situation. The flight was delayed by an hour, full flight had dirty lavatories without water from the get go! One of the middle lavatories could not lock! This plane should have been better serviced by ground crew before it departed Doha! Infotainment system is confusing, keep it simple and add more up to date movies. Even then, I will still fly QR over all else."

I only needed the room to sleep for 3 or 4 hrs. Anyway, the flight itself was great, no complaints"

I've had to purchase a new set of luggage AND will have to pay for them on my next 2 legs on Delta. I apologise for seeming so harsh as I know you've had so much trouble because of the tornadoes, but this leg of my trip cost me an additional $800.00 plus AUD and I was here in the US to care for my father who recently had a 2nd heart attack and my final days in USA were meant to be a holiday, and all I can say is the stress because these expenses have removed any enjoyment (I know I'm looking at this half empty, not half full). From USA, San Jose, Ca, to Frankfurt, Germany everything was good (flight on 08/31/2018 - 09/01/2018). They have been very profesional, beganing wih the boarding time untill the arrival in Frankfurt. The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

My problem is not only the wait once we land, but most improtsntly that the bags are beat up in the journey. Indeed, my carry-on arrived with several scratches on the plastic edges as well as some signs of worn on the textile. Because of this carry-on baggage size restrictions, I will not fly TAP airlines again (unless I can travel with my hand purse only)."
Pro: "Everything went according to the timetable, boarding was on-time and we even arrived a bit earlier than scheduled, so I can't really fault the service of the pilots, the cabin crew or the ground operations team. Food wasn't exactly stellar, but clearly a lot better than on most European flights operated by larger companies (Lufthansa, KLM, Air France etc.). The aircraft itself was clean and looked fairly new and well maintained"
Contra: "The seating was absolutely HORRENDOUS. Even though I'm nearly 6'3" (close to 1.90m), I generally never complain about seating space or legroom, even on low cost flights. This particular TAP aircraft, however, despite looking quite new, had some of the most cramped seating ever. Additionally, the trays were minuscule (you could barely place the entire food tray the service during the flight, let alone have another drink at the same time on the tray). Also, on the inbound flight (this was the return one), the seats were fitted with a very simple and clever tablet-holding mechanism, so you could easily watch something on your table while eating your food (from a similarly small tray table). The seat back pockets do not have any material/fabric on the sides, so stored items could easily slip out sideways from the pocket. Shame to have such a good in flight service and to be a punctual airline if you're going to carry your passengers cramped like cattle in seats 'rivalling' the ones on Ryanair flights on 4-hour long journeys."

I worked with this Airline almost an hour to get myself on it and then it seems that it took TAP Portugal that hour PLUS SOME to suggest alternate flights to other stranded passengers."

No warning of the fact that we would have such a long trek to the airplane and in the rain, no less. However, I was grateful that we ended up taking a larger plane to accommodate all of the luggage. But then the stewardess had to spray something in the air around the bins, I found that to be very strange."

Contra: "The airline makes money by having very low weight allowances on carry-on and checked luggages. The staff at the check in desk act like they are surprised and symphatetic about the overages meanwhile they enforce the weight limits to the gram. Most deplorable of all is the fact that they have one person on staff at a special desk where one can go to pay for the newly discovered overages. This desk and the person assigned to it full time is the proof that the company expects this kind of result before hand. Where on most continental flights the weight limit is usually set at 31 kilograms for checked-in baggages TAP Portugal has a limit of 23kg. Where most companies have no weight limit or around 20kg on carry-on baggage they have 8kg. The overages in weight result in a flat fee of $100 per luggage, even if the luggage is just one kilogram over the allowed limit. The low ticket purchase price is in my opinion a deplorable marketing scheme aimed at getting people to buy their tickets and then be faced with extra charges when it turns out weight alloweances are set at domestic standards."
