I was wearing light jeans and a short sleeve shirt, and I was sweating all flight. Each time I asked throughout the duration of the flight, I was told it take a while for the temperature to decline. It's one thing to be uncomfortably warm on a flight; it's another thing when the flight crew lies to you. Further, I was not the only one to request that the temperature be reduced. This made an 11 hour flight particularly miserable."

Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

Contra: "I bought economy class ticket! (I have a printout ticket as proof!) When I went to the airport i had a VERY UNPLEASANT surprise. I had a 23kg bag. Bording stuart said that my ticket is ECO LIGHT class and I don't have the right to any baggage. Worst thing of all was that the reason of my trip to Paris was my sister's graduation and half of the baggage was my formal wear and other half were presents for my sister! Your lack of transparency ruined one in lifetime special event- MY SISTER'S GRADUATION. I am very glad that you asked me for my opinion because I am using my free time to demand full refund, even tough the damage is much bigger than the cost of the ticket and it's irreplaceable."

The attendants were also very professional: I loved it when the plane was arriving, already on the ground, and a lady stood up - the attendants promptly asked them to sit. The cutlery was still metal! Despite not having a plurality of food choices (in fact, just one), the meal was good - The breakfast was great! The complementary chocolates and cheese too. The old school movies: seeing all the James Bond movies lined up, or Dr. No, was funny and suggested a personal touch. It reminded me of my first experiences flying, and it was very refreshing! PS. I'm 35 years old. :)"

Pro: "I have been spoiled with the large planes, so the small ones to me are cramped, but thats with all carriers not just Lufthansa. I generally prefer to fly Lufthansa when heading to Europe."

I am not fluent in German so that may have added to my uncertainty. And my suitcase, which she said she was making sure would get to me in Marseilles, did not come for 24 hours."

Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

I was assigned last row and middle seat, I could not change seat when there were other seats available at check-in. United would not let agents change either. Maybe kayak related? Expedia always allows seat changes"

After we found a United rep and started walking towards the gate we came across the passport control area that had a huge crowd waiting in line. I saw that we literally had 15 min left, while the long line would take us 20-25 min to get through. We had to jump through the lines and cut in front of people explaining everybody our predicament and making people upset. Got back stressed and tired"

They also force you to pay an additional "seat fee" even if you don't request a specific seat. Horrible customer service, zero regard for customers. Waited in shuttle for 45 minutes before being taken to plane. My air conditioner fan for my seat was completely broken but had to pay for that seat as well. Avoid at all costs. Worst airplane very old and run down. Also the staff for Vienna airport is who you have to go to to pay fees for luggage and THEY ARE THE WORST TO DEAL WITH. Would avoid this airline at all costs."

They said they offer the food and drinks to others because they paid. Money wasn’t an issues. Besides I wasn’t even offered a drink neither asked for money. I found it really rude."

Unfortunatley, there is no way for me to lookbthat information online. Even the gate agent wasn't able to look that informationmout, and told me it will be there. I simply had to go with 'belief' that my special meal would be there. They did not have any other options . The food they served was so unpalatable that I threw up. I threw up in a plastic bag, as opposed to a barf bag. I didnt have time to get it out from the seat pocket. When I called the flight attendant for assistsnce, she was so rude in pointing that I should have used the barf bag and not a plastic bag. Very unempathetic. They did not check on me after that. The flight was so hot, and too crammed. Old plane. The entertainment was unentertaining. I would never fly this airline again."

Then the process actually begins and 20min later and some bureaucracy on extra luggage you get your pass. Contra: "Serbia leg - including a 5 hour flight - had no entertainment options and food was not great. Additionally, one of our bags was misplaced and we are hoping it will be delivered later this week."

Contra: "- While boarding, we were kept in the runway bus all boarded for 30 mins with the bus not moving and no one told us what's going on. Only after people started really complaining about being stuck and standing they only said that they are waiting for a 'supervisor' - 2/3 of the whole plane had a missing luggage and apparently that has been happening for a while and they are conscientiously packing people in inappropriate plane, but they did not give us a heads up, only so that we learn about this (practice) in Skopje airport after waiting for long on the baggage bin and then whole airplane lining up to file a claim. I'm really disappointed of the treatment and don't think I'll fly anymore."

Pro: "Service was great. Specially the FA . They lost my baggige. They send a very small plane from Beldrad to Skopje and they didnt send half of the passanger luggages."

Contra: "It was not clear from the booking that it was an AirSerbia flight from Berlin so we waited unnecessarily in the Air Berlin line to be told to go to the Air Serbia line at the counter."

Contra: "No tv , movies...and it's a long flight"

Pro: "Flight was on time, WIFI on board, decent cooked meal, stainless steal cutlery (this, in economy class) cabin crew was great. All in all - it was a pleasant experience."
Contra: "WIFI is reasonably priced, but data allowance is tiny (13.90 EUR for the duration of the flight, but capped at 90Mb). It's good only for messaging or emergency."

Contra: "The cabin overhead spaces were too small and not able to accommodate everyone's bags and coats."

Pro: "They were professional and efficient"
Contra: "It was required to check in prior to arrival to airport to avoid a fee. I did not have internet access still I arrived. I had to pay 55 euro for a simple check in. Not fair to folks who do not use data for internet nor WiFi. A email could be sent 72 hours but that does not mean people check all emails or they even have access to the web. It’s not a fair or smart business move, I will not book with them again."

Contra: "Flight a bit late without much explanation. Constant raucous announcements on board but couldn’t understand any of them. Probably trying to sell us stuff"

Contra: "I got charged 69 euros for not checking in online!!!!! More than the ticket price!!!!!!! This is robbery! Worse airlines ever, thieves! Do not ever travel with this company"

Contra: "I was seated in 1A next to the window and main door and the one side of my body froze. My nose started to run. An hour before the end I got up and found another seat. But it was cold there too. Also hated the emails they sent me in advance which had me inputting all info before leaving - only to find that “free check-in is not allowed.” I will not fly with them again. It’s not worth the money saved."

Pro: "Ryanair is barebones but gets you where you need to go for cheap."

Card payment on board was disabled. Payment in the currency of the departing country was impossible."

Pro: "Nothing"
Contra: "We were forced to put our carry on luggage in the hold despite the fact that was loads of room in the overhead lockers. This is such a tedious new trend clearly designed to increase stress and anxiety around the boarding process (and extract more cash for priority boarding). Add to that the extra effort they take to seat you separately even when checking in together... unless of course you pay extra. Shame on you."

Pro: "It got me home."
Contra: "Firstly, there were no sandwiches (hot or cold) available on a late afternoon flight, so the remaining food options were poor. Secondly, my £7 Gin and Tonic that I'd hardly touched slid right off the frankly useless trays and into my lap. The flight attendant literally threw me a few paper towels to help. I spent the remaining three hours of the flight soaking wet."

Pro: "Fare was reasonable."
Contra: "Boarding process was slow and tedious. Asked for boarding pass by gate agent and flight attendant. Created unnecessary delay getting everyone seated."

Pro: "Price"
Contra: "Allocation of seats saw my wife in 5c and myself in 31d. 31e was vacant."

Contra: "You charged me an extra 150 Euro because I did not receive your e mail and could not register on line my flight. I complained at Airport in Greece and no one would assist me. I am writing the NY Times and Washington Post about your strategy to take extra $ from first time flyers of your airline. Shamfull !!!! Contra: "It was not clearly stated anywhere that a boarding pass must be printed beforehand, as most companies allow use of mobile passes or downloading of the boarding pass onto the phone. Their website did not allow downloading of the boarding pass on the phone and I was charged a 15 Euro fee for "checking in" at the airport when I had already checked in online. I will not be flying with this airline again, the other airlines are cheaper when considering all the ridiculous fees and poor customer service."

Pro: "It was a quick flight."
Contra: "When I bought the ticket, i was not clearly informed that we HAD to check in online before arriving to the airport. This was a huge issue. I held off checking in because I wasn't sure if my bag would fit in the overhead bins as I didn't have a tape measure. So I figured, like with every other airline, my wife and I would check in at the desk and pay for the extra checked bag if necessary. Well we ended up having to pay €50 EACH to the airport administrator to get a boarding pass. I went through all the documents I received from the airline, and nothing states that we had to check-in before we arrived. They said they sent me a text message to my hotel, which was the contact number I had put when we bought the ticket. That didn't do anything to help. We will be fighting this with the airlines, discussing our bad experience, and never flying with them again."

Pro: "The ride wasn't bumpy, The pilot was careful and the weather was nice."

Contra: "I'm a 2M miler on Delta and have flown all over the world. Won't fly Ryanair again. First, luggage has to way 10kg or a 50 pound fee to check it. Next, they dragged us out on the hot Tarmac so we could stand and wait for 20 mins before boarding the plane. Then cabin was incredibly hot-no gate AC provided. Lastly, the seats were hard like a football bleacher."

Pro: "The flight attendants were very funny and friendly. They were proffessional and helpful."

Pro: "When you purchase a ticket for over 150 euros, the least the company could do is provide a boarding pass instead of charging their customer 15 euros or inconveniencing them having to find a way to print it."

Contra: "Not used to flying this airline. Their business practice calls for 45 euros/passenger check in fee if not done online prior. With 4 of us traveling, that just added 180 euros. Then, one of our carry-ons was deemed too big, had to be checked-in for another 50 Euros. The flight was not full and the carry-on could have easily fit in the cabin where there was plenty of space left. Overall the staff felt sorry, knew it was an expensive proposition to just have a piece of paper (i.e. boarding pass), and late checked in suitcase. We will certainly avoid Ryannair all we can when traveling in Europe next time around."

Pro: "The flight was cancelled by Ryanair without giving us the reasons or explanation."

Contra: "Traveling in a group of 7. Only 2 of us received email/text notifications that flight was cancelled (less than 24hrs. Notice). When we called to get answers we were led to an automated recording that did not lead us to a human, but to an online chat. The online chat did not work. We found out through a Google search that Marseilles was on strike. We then cancelled our flights, asked for refund, and switched to Alitalia."

Contra: "confusing website that didn't let you add baggage easily. they kept us on the tarmac in a hot plane for a very long time."

Contra: "Not even a drop of water provided. Never seen an airline that tries to sell you so much. Staff rude and bossy. The male attendant smelled really bad- needs to use deodorant"

Pro: "Used Ryan air for the first time for short flight from Madrid to Marseille. Read a lot about the airline in the USA. I found the procedures clearly explained, so I had no unexpected issues at the airport."
Contra: "Nothing to do with Ryan air."

Contra: "The passengers next to me were rude. There was no food or entertainment."

Contra: "The bargain basement feel of the airplane."
