Flight attendants were borderline rude and bossy, but they had to be, because the passengers were loud and unruly."
Pro: "The rear exit of the plane. The cabin crew were very attentive, almost too much. I brought my cat and she didn't get to sleep much. I appreciate that the attendants wanted to visit with her and give her their attention but it kept her from sleeping and woke me up. Since she had no proper place to use the bathroom she needed to be sleeping to keep her body clock in order."

I'm used to domestic flights in the US which are no fun but as soon as I boarded our flight, the crew was so kind, I appreciated the pillows, blankets and extra care package provided with ear plugs, socks and an eye mask! It helped make the trip that much more pleasant to be able to sleep! I tend to get motion sickness and the crew on all four of our flights were so kind to give me water when I boarded the plane to be able to take my medicine. The flights were on time for the most part and the on-board entertainment helped a very long flight be more tolerable!"
Contra: "I had an issue with a passenger on our plane from Zanzibar to Istanbul but that was at no fault of the airline or the crew. One crew member was so sweet to allow my husband and I to move further back in the plane once boarding was finished. We were coming home from our honeymoon and the rude woman wouldn't get out of our seat so we could at least sit next to each other! It was unfortunate, but again, at no fault of the crew or airline and we were so thankful for the crew member helping us find somewhere we could sit together! I wish I would have gotten his name but it was on flight TK567 on May 4th. To whoever he was, thank you!!!"

We were charged 462.00 extra to take the next flight out 3hours later. We were charged twice for the same flight from Portugal to Rome. It was not our fault that we could not connect in Portugal, every other airlines would make resonable accommodations with out any extra charge. We both feel cheated by tap airlines and it made our vacation very stressful trying to resolve the double charge. It has not been resolved as of yet and we our very disappointed on how we were treated. can’t get anything other than the blame being passed around."
Contra: "I had an awful experience. A flight attendant named Comissário Bruno denied me a second dessert when I asked for one. I was flying business class on flight TP059 on March 4 2018 and have Gold status on Star Alliance. Many passengers had declined dessert and I felt extremely embarrassed by having been denied food on a plane for the first time in my life. The attitude and lack of tact of Comissario Bruno on TP059 spoiled the whole flight experience for me."

Contra: "1) I tried several times while traveling but was unable to figure out how to choose a vegetarian option for the flight. When I called customer service, after a long hold time, the woman I finally spoke to told me it was too late to order vegetarian and refused to help me. I have never flown another airline (Air India, Turkish Air, United, American, China Southern, etc., etc.) that did not make this easy to choose during booking or check-in and that did not already have a standard ovo-lacto vegetarian option on the regular menu. Vegetarians practice for all sorts of reasons, including religion and health needs. It's unacceptable to make it so difficult to meet your meal needs while trapped on a plane for nine hours. 2) The check-in agent did not know the rule about all remaining seats being opened for passenger choice three hours before booking and insisted we had to pay to get aisle seats despite one of us having a health problem necessitating her standing up and walking every 45 minutes. Then another agent told us we couldn't choose seats for free for our Porto to Newark flight when we check in for our Madrid-Porto flight because it wasn't technically three hours before the Porto-Newark departure. But how were we supposed to choose seats for the Porto-Newark flight three hours in advance if we are in an airplane flying to Porto at that time? This makes no sense. Seats should be opened for every leg of a same-day journey at the same time. The agents were unhelpful and unsympathetic. 3) This was an old plane without options to choose a film or show to watch. Instead, passengers could flip through a few channels and hope to find something of interest that was already playing -- there was no way to begin a film or show from the beginning if you landed on it in the middle of its running time. I cannot recommend TAP Portugal to any of my friends, family, or colleagues after this experience."
Contra: "We missed our connection Lisbon to Venice because our plane out of Boston was delayed. We flew TAP Lisbon to Rome and then Alitalia to Venice. Our fight to Rome was delayed. We were never told the plane was delayed or how long we should expect to wait. We just stood at the gate waiting to board and time ticked further and further past the boarding time listed on our tickets."

Was told on check-in that flight did not include checked luggage which is bizzare/unreal for an international flight especially since I also paid to upgrade my ticket. Even in explaining to me the person on the phone was rude. This was very disappointing as I had such an amazing trip to end on this sour note. (2) The boarding process took forever. They made us line up about 45 minutes before we actually boarded. So we were all standing around as opposed to being seated in waiting area. We did not board until after our take-off time. (3) Seats were really tight, uncomfortable and don't recline much."

Worse, after 2-hours with customer service, nobody there made any real attempt to remedy the situation or offer any compensation. Worst airline experience EVER."

We had a connecting flight to AMS with also TAP and had a two hour window to make the next flight with the same company (TAP). We were in line for passport and then security and talked to several TAP employees and they said we would be have time and wouldn't have a problem catching the second flight. Well, we got through the lines with 30 min before our next flight and they wouldn't let us on. Customer service and organization of the airline is really poor. The aircraft had minimal room and no entertainment. We got on our next flight five hours later and all they gave us was a $10 food voucher. So poorly managed."

Contra: "Oph, I wish I had better things to say about this airline! The person who signed us in for our first flight did so as a "no show" (we didn't know this at the time). That flight was delayed (they didn't have enough room in the plane for luggage and were scrambling to put things below). Once we arrived in at our second location, we sprinted through the airport but arrived at our gate with 10 minutes to spare only to be told that the entire flight was full and that we were not able to board. We asked- how this was possible? We are here on time, we have booked our tickets months ahead of time, and there is no one else here at the gate... it made absolutely no sense. All the staff people did was shrug their shoulders and said that they couldn't help us and that we had to go to the transfer station. My friend and I were upset- by missing our flight we were losing our last night in Barcelona, seeing our friends, etc. before heading back to the United States. Once we got to the transfer station, we were even more confused and upset however, because the staff person there told us that in fact our seats were available and that there was no reason why were not allowed on the flight. However, she shrugged her shoulders and told her that there was nothing that she could do. She offered us a $10 meal card, booked us for the next flight 3 hours later (which put us in Barcelona late at night, way too late to see the city or our friends), and offered us absolutely no help in getting a refund. We asked to see the supervisor and after waiting another half an hour he came out and told us the story about how the staff person in Marrakesh put us as "no shows." This was a complete system failure, however he offered us no refund, no support, beyond telling us to go on the website and filling out a form. Once we got internet, we tried to get to the form- link broken. We called the help line, and after waiting another 20 minutes, we got connected to a woman who said that she couldn't help us- we had to go to the transfer service desk and fill out a paper form there or the electronic contact form. It seemed that every person had been well trained in how to pass clients from one system to another, to see if we would get too tired to file our complaints. No one has taken responsibility for this abysmal failure of the system, no one has apologized, and no one has offered any reimbursement beyond a meal ticket. I highly recommended that people pay an extra $20 for an airline where people are properly trained in how to use their computer systems, where they won't lie to your face, and where they may have a system where complaints and be properly filed and responded to. I have no idea how TAP Portugal is still in business."
Pro: "Loved that seats were new and comfortable. The entertainment system was also newly updated and had plenty of options for everyone."
Contra: "Only thing I didn't like was that the airline doesn't offer wifi!"

Would appreciate clearrer expectation management - don't tell me it's taking five minutes when you need an hour. This feeds into old stereotypes around timeliness. Also, the seats were pretty small - I am 6"4 and was in a seat that did not recline (in front of emergency exit row)"

I love security but some of these lines served no recognizable purpose. In Boston a guy is being paid to collect electronic copies of the passports. We had to wait in line to hand this guy papers he did. It review, or do anything with. Why did the customs guy not take that paperwork, eliminating a line and paying some guy to collect passport photos????"
Contra: "Ryanair announced that we could postpone the flights without any cost due to corona virus and when I tried to reach them/to change the flight date the change tax was still there."

Not fair to folks who do not use data for internet nor WiFi. A email could be sent 72 hours but that does not mean people check all emails or they even have access to the web. It’s not a fair or smart business move, I will not book with them again."

After we finally got to where we were supposed to be half hour was said that came and gone then another 15 mins when we were moved back to boarding area. Another half hour finally got boarded then and after this was the usual great Ryanair experience."

Contra: "The airline made us go to the gate where there was no seating, though they knew the flight was an hour late, so we stood for an hour, before being told we had to check carry on bags in the hold, carrying computers,valuables, batteries, and drinks in our hands (not possible). Card payment on board was disabled. Payment in the currency of the departing country was impossible."

Usually this is not a problem but on this flight they split us up, one at the front & one at the rear, then they ask if we want to pay extra to sit together. This is a very petty ploy to get extra money. It doesn't work !! The passengers just swop when on the plane"

Contra: "I felt it ironic that our two smallish rolling duffel bags were not the right parameters to take on board, and just enough over the weight limit to rack up bag charges of about 35 E ea, ea way between Dublin and Glasgow, so actually our luggage charge is more than our set of tickets for this particular trip. No wonder the owner's a billionaire--however, on the positive side, the pilot landed "like butter" in Glasgow AND we heard that the Ryanair owner actually does pay millions in taxes for the good of Ireland. (Sigh...)"

I spent the remaining three hours of the flight soaking wet."
Contra: "Made us shove my bag into the compartment and made a scene in front of everyone. I will never fly Ryanair again. Worst way to treat guests."

The app informed me that this was not a mobile boarding pass which I could oinly get from the web site which wioud not work on a smart phone. At check in counter, I was charged 100 Dirham ($10) to get a hand scribbled boarding pass. I got a series of anxiety inducing emails before the trip which were completely unnecessary."
Contra: "over an hour late with poor communication. charged 3€ for a small bottle of water. ridiculous."

Contra: "Rude gate staff at Otopeni Airport insisting I place my hand luggage in the hold until I informed them I had priority seats. The whole concept of priority boarding goes out the window as boarding was via a bus"

Contra: "If you happen to prefer to checking in in at the airport, be prepared to pay a 45€ fee.Ryanair wants their passengers to check in online via their app. If you check in via the website, then you must physically print out the boarding pass. Obviously this is ridiculous."
Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to strikes in Greece. I went to the airport to talk with a rep from RyanAir in person since they charge you to speak to in the phone and they were no help at all. They did not offer any type of rebooking. My initial flight was the following day at 6:15am. The strikes were called off and my flight was reinstated but I was sent an email after I went to sleep so I missed the original flight. I went back to the airport and was refused help to rebook on a new flight because it was my fault that I missed the reinstated flight when I was contacted by email at 10:30pm. I had to book with another airline at a much costlier expense, but they were much more pleasant and accommodating and even moved me to an earlier flight at no charge. i understand the strikes are out of their control but their customer service was terrible."

I asked if the flight was full as then bags would be checked free anyways. They said no. Then my bag was checked free the other side after i had thrown away the sun cream. Flight itself very uncomfortable and we were delayed by 30 mins when already sat on plane."
