Emirates was top class. Clean flights, rich ambience, helpful crew, good food. Entertainment was subpar. Seat cushion was not at its best. A lot of movement by Cabin Crew, causing continuous sleep interruptions (Aisle seat is not the best option).

By contrast to larger airports it is not at all clear where to go once you are in the departures area - fine if you are familiar with the airport, but confusing if not. I discovered I should make my way through secondary security into the departure gate area via a small unsigned door. There followed a good deal of confusion among the passengers as to where we should be waiting, and whether the flight was on time or not. Another area which could be improved, but not by the airline, is the listing of departure gates for connecting flights in Dubai. There are so many flights cycling on limited screen space, so you have only a few seconds to locate your flight, from around 90 or so, before having to wait for the cycle to repeat."
Pro: "The overall experience was good from boarding to disembark. emirates is a quality airline with affordable pricing. Planes were neat and clean cabin crew did their job at their best."
Contra: "In some instances their was a shortage of food option. Although the menu said you could have a choice but some of the choices were exhausted by the time crew served it to the half of the travellers and the rest have to eat whatever was leftover. I think Emirates should stock a bit more of the food especially on a plane like Airbus 380. Its a huge aircraft and passengers sting at the vey end had to wait almost 45 min to 1 hr to get their food and that too was whatever leftover. They should make efforts to server all the passengers within a short amount to time rather than keep them waiting for so long. Most of the time more than half of the passengers had already eaten while those sitting in the back were still waiting for their food. Its not cabin crew's inefficiency but rather a policy problem that needs to be addressed."

Contra: "After traveling for 19 hours from Washington DC to Karachi, , They lost by luggage. They asked me to come and collect it after 6 hours. Went to the airport could see my luggage sitting in the trolley but still made me wait another 3 hours. NO COMPENSATION / NO APOLOGIZES Going back from Karachi to Washington DC, passenger besides me had a child in his lap throughout the flight. That passengers arm and legs were in my part of the seat throughout the flight. I could not sit or eat or relax. The child in the lap kept on touching me and the food I had on the tray as was unable to eat it. I weigh 165 but the seats are so small that one has to struggle. When back Dulles airport, had to weight for 1.5 hours for the bag to arrive @ thanks to big jumbo A380 aircraft. First class were priority. They checked in first, got their luggage first on a different belt, rest were treated like third class people. Never wasting my $ in this airline."

Pro: "The airline still runs like a well-oiled machine. Everything is efficient and staff are courteous. Flights are on time and reliable. DXB airport is easy to navigate. New on-board headphones design is an improvement."
Contra: "Cost saving cuts are evident around every corner. No more night mask, flight socks and toothbrush. No more hot lemon towel upon boarding (only towards end of flight). Food tray is smaller and more compact than before, turns Dinner into a game of Tetris (although, not a fun 'game'). Flights aboard A380 are much more comfortable than in Boeing 777."

One of my bags didnt arrived. It was a priority bag. And the flight was a really bad experience. There were two kids (2-3 years old) from two families in business class that cried during literally 10 hours! Was a really long flight

Contra: "First, they announced that they need some passengers to voluntarily give up the booking in exchange for 280 refunds (a slightly higher rate which not worth to do it) and 1 stopover the fight to Rome which will arrive at 22.00 instead (our flight is 17.35). About 15 minutes before boarding time, they announced flight delaying. Around 17.45, they announced gate changing from B to A which located at opposite side of the the airport so all passengers run there because of everyone afraid that their booking might be canceled because no one agrees to give up. At both gates, many people try to jump in the queue which no staff comes in the manage the queue. During waiting on the board, the air condition seems to be closed, hard to breathe. Around 19.00, the plane took off the Zurich airport eventually, finish the 1.5 hours delay. The captain announced that it cause by the technical problem of the flight earlier but my thinking it cause from over-booking."

Pro: "We had a turbulent trip but our pilots were very competent and got us to Zuroch safely. Bathroom was pretty clean."
Contra: "The plane was an older model and very outdated. The flight attendants gave us a choice between chicken or vegetarian pasta. I chose chicken, but it was actually beef. The salad was literally iceberg lettuce and a slice of cucumber. Overall, the meal was one of the lowest quality I've ever had in am airline. The outdated onboard entertainment system was annoying to operate and it was impossible to even see the screen when the person ahead leaned back."

This is flying business class. Swiss begins to feel like a low cost"

Pro: "I was late ( I had to drive 230 Km ) and I managed to call in advance the company that was doing the check-in on behalf of SWISS - I asked them the Check-in time closing time and by almost flying ( speeding like crazy ) I arrived before that moment."
Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

Pro: "Best food and attention that I've had on an airline in 20 years. Really. I was telling a friend today, Swiss Air started with drinks, gave us a Parisian baguette sandwich, gave us a healthy breakfast of yoghurt warm croissant butter jam orange juice, drinks again, and several passengers surrounding me got special attention, one woman with a baby, a disabled person, and a teenager that was 6'5" was relaocated by the flight attendant without him even asking to a bulkhead seat for more comfort. You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."
Pro: "The fights themselves were nice, the crew was pleasant and the dinner itself was a very nice surprise"
Contra: "Wow what a cramped space- the minute the person leaned their seat back I had no room and I'm a fairly small pElson. The seat in front of me was almost literally in my lap I couldn't open my tray on their seat back unless they sat up to eat"

Contra: "Not even a smile from the purser and one other crew member on the Swedish leg. The captain hurriedly "explained", no one understood him, why we were so delayed, but he did not apologize! Zurich airport has no charging sockets! (Ancient) All of terminal A has not a single one! No one supervised the loading passengers not to interfere with those passing by. It was a complete mess. We took off 50 minutes late from Zurich, with no apparent reason. Worst in years for me. We sat in the plane for 30 minutes and were not offered even water. Big fail! (btw, I am unusually so critical)."

Contra: "There is little that can be done to make a long haul flight comfortable when a baby is screaming and crying for it's entire duration. Its behaviour cannot be helped. But it certainly didn't make the flight comfortable, nor did the young child kicking incessantly at the back of my and my daughter's seats. This could have occurred on any flight, but it didn't contribute to having a positive experience on this one. The flight attendant serving breakfast completely ignored that fact that I was awake and strolled past without asking if I would like anything as meals were being served. I informed another flight attendant that we hadn't been offered breakfast and she was able to provide us with meals. Besides this the cabin crew were courteous and pleasant. I've flown with Swiss on other occasions and have had better experiences. I'd like to think this was just a one off and not representative of the level of service that Swiss normally provides."

Pro: "I have been spoiled with the large planes, so the small ones to me are cramped, but thats with all carriers not just Lufthansa. I generally prefer to fly Lufthansa when heading to Europe."

Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."
Contra: "No boarding lines. Boarded late. I was not given enough time from my arriving flight. I had to spring the length of the airport and up and down stairs as the elevators had long lines. Maybe it was good it boarded late or I wouldn't have made it."
Contra: "Ticket written on Air Canada but Lufthansa was carrier. Not possible to check-in on line leaving very few choices for seating. Tried to check-in on Sunday for Monday flight -- system errors resulted and phone number provided by system only works M-Sat. My initial leg was on Iberia and they could not check me in for entire flight. Major scramble in Frankfort to resolve issues. Never again!"
Pro: "The crew was especially cheerful and helpful. The food was surprisingly good for airline food. I have always had a good experience on Lufthansa and this trip was no exception."

Contra: "I was in the next to last row in economy class. The person ahead of me put his seat back as far as it would go. that is his right. Behind me were two friends traveling with me. I doubt if their seats reclined (the last row) so I did not attempt to recline my seat. As a result I was a true "sardine". There was so little space between my face and the seat back ahead of me I could not look at the video screen, which was positioned at an angle when the seat was back. I just closed my eyes and let it pass. Economy plus next time? I have long legs."

For a twelve hour flight, the food was only Okay, could have been better and with a better selection. Meal timing was poor."
Contra: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

This was the worse leg of the flight. It delayed for over an hour due to mechanical issues and lack of ground crew to push the plane for take off. Never thought of this from a giant company such as AA. Definitely a bad experience!😕

The self check-in machines for AA were a little "buggy" and difficult to navigate but helpful staff was readily available as were the short lines. I am 6'2" and was impressed that I had adequate leg room in my seat."

Our party of three, which was husband and wife plus friend, were all seated separately. We could have opted for "pay extra" seating, but even that did not get us together, so we opted out."
