JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."

Pro: "The food is good. The seats for regular economy are a bit more spacious. They also have some deal with fast food restaurants, Mos Burger and Yoshinoya so sometimes you can get their air version of the fast-food meals. I had Yoshinoya and it was pretty good. The entertainment was okay, the only 2 things I wanted to watch was John Wick 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but the movies change every month so it was probably a bad batch. Also free toothbrushes and toothpaste available on the plane and a self service snack area. Overall it was great."

You are on JAPAN airlines... you do realize the non-gluten-free rice is a staple of the country. It's akin to a Japanese person complaining that there aren't chopsticks provided with the meals on an American Airlines flight. How were the staff supposed to help you mid-air? Mid-flight dock so one special meal can be provided for you? How about this: take some personal responsibility and purchase your own gluten free food for the flight and carry it on. Really... how can one compare the 787 with individual on demand entertainment, roomy seats, full meal service (they'll even bring a meal to you if you were asleep during the normal service), etc... all for no extra charge?!?!? It is simply amazing what JAL (and every Japanese company) sets as a standard for customer service."

Contra: "I thought I had ordered a vegetarian meal when I booked the flight roughly 1.5 months prior to my trip. However, when the meal was being served, there was only a chicken or pork option and my vegetarian meal had either not been properly booked or had been forgotten. When I informed the staff, I was asked to show proof that I ordered a veggie meal. I could not pull up my email confirmation as we were flying and there was no internet access. I had to lug my bag out of the overhead and search for a print out confirmation. I had not come prepared with the "evidence" the stewardess wanted. While the staff tried to be polite, I also found them to be quite rude, demanding that I produce evidence. Could they not have simply given me an extra salad without all the fuss? I felt I was being treated as a criminal for requesting a veggie meal that had, unfortunately, not been recorded in their system."

Contra: "We couldn't land in Narita due to bad weather, so we did emergency landing to Haneda to refuel and go back to Narita. But after we got off in Narita, the immigration is chaos. Nobody arranging it and people just going wild, nobody knows where the line should begin. We spent 2 hours plus in the imigration line. So from the scheduled time to arrive at Tokyo 5pm, we get to our Hotel at 2am. Good job Narita airport!"

Contra: "Plane condition: Cosmetic plastic panel below monitor and seat back pocket on Seat 31E fell off when foot rest was lowered; had previously been secured by adhesive tape. Panel removed by crew. In-flight entertainment system: Persistent intermittent loss of sound while listening to movie or TV program. Food: Tried to use "Book the Cook" feature touted by Singapore's website. Was unable to get on site for that purpose. The last try a message appeared (late September) that site was being "rebuilt." On the flight, there was no menu of choices; we were offered 3 vaguely worded choices which boiled down to beef, chicken or vegetables. Those appeared in not particularly appetizing forms and combinations--P.S., we like east and southeast Asian cooking and had just spent 3 weeks in Japan. Failure to provide information about possible delays due to WRG deplaning location at LAX: Although we are frequent fliers to and from LAX, we'd never heard of the WRG. It would have been helpful if the crew had informed us upon arrival that there could possibly be a wait on the plane as buses were used to transport us approximately 1/2 mile to TBIT. Generally: We chose Singapore because of its reputation for excellence. Belying the name of the class, both Turkish AL and Air NZ treated Premium Economy passengers as "junior" business class. Singapore treated us as coach with a roomier cabin and seating pitch."

As soon as the plane pulled away from the terminal, crew members seemed rushed and frantic, literally running back and forth from Economy Premium to the galley gathering items. Approximately every 7-10 minutes, crew members would be running back and forth next to my seat with heavy foot steps, which would wake me up. I also noticed that certain crew members were shouting at passengers to get their attention instead of lowering themselves to be heard. One flight attendant almost spilled orange juice on me because she turned around too fast trying to serve drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, or if it was the influence of a certain crew boss, but something was definitely wrong."

Pro: "What did I like??? Um, EVERYTHING! First off I got a great price under $850 round trip to NRT from LAX was a steal! They let you check two large suit cases plus a carry on and a personal item. That all FREE!!! I travel pretty light but it was great to know they don't Nickle and dime you for bags or anything else for that matter. Staff looks amazing and treats you first class even when your in economy. They are so polite and really genuinely want to give you a above and beyond experience. And they over achieve at it! They meals are great and very satisfying. The planes are big and roomy even in economy seats. On our return flight we had a brand new plane which had a sleek touch screen monitor and controller. There mad tons of media available (articles, language games, games, movies, tv shows and more) with USB ports to charge devices on each seat. Plus 10inch personal monitors. Earbuds were included free of charge, aswell as socks toothbrush and tooth paste. They have is two big meals on our direct flight (awesome that they have direct flights). Plus, they offered free snacks too and gave us a full can of soda vs. a small cup. They come through several times offering coffee, tea, water and snacks. All free of charge. This was my first time flying Singapore Airlines and I loved it!!! I wish Everyone was this amazing! Norwegian Airlines was the opposite as far as charging for everything! Had to pay each stop for any luggage ($100 per checked bag). No meals free or charge. They wanted money for everything! And yea a skimpy sandwich was $9.00 :(."

Contra: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

Contra: "This trip was not quite as excellent as my flights on Singapore Airlines usually are; however, I cannot say for sure there was much that airline staff could have done to change this. A great deal of turbulence earlier in the flight made it difficult to enjoy the food. Also, there was a sewage-like smell that wafted through the air periodically - this could have been a child in the surrounding seats, though. Both of these issues seem difficult for the airline staff to address, however, unless the smell actually came from a problem with the ventilation system. The staff was exceptionally helpful and good-natured, though, which made the biggest difference. Thank you so much."
Pro: "I would definitely fly with Singapore again. Their staff is super attentive, they have lots of options for in-flight entertainment and things generally went smoothly. I didn't sign up for a special allergy meal ahead of time but they were able to accommodate me anyways."
Contra: "The food was overcooked, mushy and tasted old. The seats were small and didn't recline very much. I think these things are kind of normal now on most airlines."
Pro: "I loved the entertainment, the kind staff, and the extras they gave out to try to make us as comfortable as possible."

On the flights to and from, even though he was on he aisle side seat, it was very difficult for him to have enough room for his legs, thus making my space that much less. In the future, I think we would benefit from booking either the seat behind us for him that had more leg room, or the seats in front of us that were the first seats of all rows."

Contra: "My flight to Narita was fabulous, so I was surprised to find the return flight home filled with a condescending crew, terrible food, and a broken entertainment system. We had requested a Muslim meal on the previous flight, but the food was so spicy and smelly that we chose to go with the normal faire on the way back. I changed it on the website when I checked in online but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that the meal was still set as a muslim meal. The representative at the baggage counter called the plane and made sure that it was changed back to a normal meal. However, when it was dinner time we were presented with muslim meals. When we spoke to the head airhost to request a normal meal he said that they only carried a specific number and an leftover meals were for the crew only and that we had to eat the muslim meals or have sandwiches. We requested the sandwiches - the muslim meal was too spicy and had made us sick before. The "sandwiches" were pretty much two slabs of dry bread with some mayo slapped on. Disgusting and dry. I wish they could have made an exception for us or provided us with something edible. It was a long flight and we were starving by the time breakfast rolled around. The crew was condescending and cold. My entertainment system lacked functionality; some of the buttons on my remote were broken."

Contra: "Qatar counter check asked how long I will be staying in Ho Chi Minh, even though my visa expired in 2022! Surprise and they are aware of my ticket with a return in Thi September. Then I was asked for how long I will stay is not of Qatar concern. Too much of concern!"

Contra: "Screening was arduous. Line for business class check in at counter was chaotic with no sense of order. A real mess. took over a half an hour and agents were processing coach passengers randomly and seemed oblivious to business class passengers who paid a significant price for the tickets."

Contra: "They announced everything in English and Arabic and repeated the same announcement multiple times. The entertainment is good but frustrating that it is constantly interrupted with announcement about everything. I have never heard that many on any other plane. The announcement about customs paperwork was long and done 2 times in English and 2 times in Arabic. There safety video is soooo long and again is done in two languages. It was just all too much. Besides that everything was great."
Contra: "I will never ever fly Qatar airlines again. The boarding for this flight in Doha was horrendous. I and a random group of passengers were made to wait with no explanation AFTER our electronics were already cleared to go through yet another security check. They said we were selected for screening but all the other people they took before us were screened the exact same way. It was stressful and traumatizing to stand for 45 minutes with no clear explanation. The crew were clearly new at their job or ill trained. On top of that they consistently ran out of food they were serving and was forced to take the vegetarian option when it's not what I wanted. I could not wait to leave Doha and exit Qatar airways. I hated my experience traveling with Qatar. It was stressful and traumatic. I want a full refund. I will also be advising all my friends to never fly Qatar. It was the WORST!"

The entertainment screen was big and clear, and the choice of films was good. The member of flight crew, a Latvian lady, who looked after me onboard was a real star, very efficient but still had time to chat."
Contra: "The choice of films and tv programmes, was good, but before watching each one i chose, I had to endure a couple off minutes of an advert- the same one every time."

Contra: "Was on flight QR 743 Doha to Boston. The pilot landed as if it was an afterthought In good weather, it sounded as if the pilot used the computer to land. The crew worked with great pains within a difficult situation. The flight was delayed by an hour, full flight had dirty lavatories without water from the get go! One of the middle lavatories could not lock! This plane should have been better serviced by ground crew before it departed Doha! Infotainment system is confusing, keep it simple and add more up to date movies. Even then, I will still fly QR over all else."

Contra: "We sat on tarmac for 3 hours with no explanation from the crew or cockpit. Because of the delay, everyone missed their connections in Doha. The crews could have jet a couple of the flights a little longer for people to make their flights. The desk was filled with people and was very chaotic. There were so many people working there but no one could give you a straight answer so it was very confusing. I had to wait at the airport for 4 hours to get it sorted and was given a food voucher for $50 for the entire stop over. I asked about a flight voucher and they laughed and said they didn't do that even though they were the ones at fault. The crew was nice and the food was good but I will never fly quatar airways unless they remedy the situation."
Contra: "I have flown previously with Qatar and was not so impressed. Everything was great this trip up until my return to the United States. I should have suspected a problem when I was requested to change seat in order to assist a family who were in separate seats. Moving was difficult as the plane was being loaded. I managed to get to the seat offered to find someone sitting in it. To top it off the individual was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a large immigration bag. I requested a seat forward but I was denied and I later saw other passengers moved forward to seats that I was denied. If I had known that the flight would have been full of possibility sick immigrants I would have chosen another flight or airline. At certain times the smells were very bad. I felt as a ff member I should have been treated better or been made aware of possible health risks."
Pro: "As the flight would be long (from Japan to Sao Paulo) they had the gentleness of putting us in the best seats well ahead that were available"

I then proceeded to attempt to rebook and the Emirates agent advised they are sold out for the next 3 days and have no flight alternatives to offer. I contact flight network and the person I spoke proceeds to tell me the same thing and there is nothing they can do for me. Basically that I would need to purchase a whole new ticket on another airline as Emirates doesn't have availability. Which I did. Now I'm looking online and Flight Network has my exact flight on Emirates available at same price I paid for my ticket. But now my new ticket purchased to get home is non-refundable. I'm out over 1000 dollars because of bad info. This has been a horrific experience and after being loyal to Kayak for years.... I will never use the site again."

My husband is now incurring additional charges and is missing employment in Canada. I'm looking for some compensation. I have never encountered this wait time when purchasing an airline ticket. Your site/app has great reviews but you need to work on credit card approvals. Thanks for your time and I look forward to being compensated."

From USA, San Jose, Ca, to Frankfurt, Germany everything was good (flight on 08/31/2018 - 09/01/2018). They have been very profesional, beganing wih the boarding time untill the arrival in Frankfurt. The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

Munich website promises that this is possible and that gates are close to each other and if the first flight is late, then someone will help you to your next flight. My first flight was about 10 mins late. Although assistance was provided to people connecting to some of the other flights, no-one helped me with my connection. I asked two ground staff and was just told to make my own way to the next gate, which was not close. It was in a different terminal! After literally running through two terminals, I did not make it to the gate in time and had to wait for the following flight which got me home over three hours late. Lufthansa did give me a five euro meal voucher though (which doesn't buy very much in an airport cafe)."
