Contra: "That there was nowhere at the Berlin airport that we were told to drop luggage at B25....all we saw was to board at A4 which is where we sat until it was time to board. Then they guy said I could not carry on my bag, I had done so coming to Berlin from SFO, so made no sense to me. So we had to dash to B 25 and then back to A4. The other thing, having an extremely painful back, there was nowhere for me to sit during the time of going through security etc. All caused stress and enormous pain."

There was no help at the transfer desk in Istanbul to get onto another flight as my connecting flight was missed because the original outbound flight was late. The customer service staff both at the lounge and the transfer desk were inept and rude and did not want to help. I shudder to think how economy passengers are treated."
Contra: "1) No organized boarding process - there is a general melee at the boarding gate with a lot of shoving and pushing. 2) Customer service staff are rude, incompetent and unhelpful 3) No recognition that customers are to be served 4) Food selection in business class was mediocre and poor 5) Old aircraft - on flight from Istanbul to London, business class was 3 abreast with the middle seat being used as a tray table. 6) Sleeper class is mediocre - seat width is poor and one cannot even turn on the side"

Contra: "I have never had a worse experience with booking travel and I vow to avoid Kayak and any related services. This has been truly one of the most terrible travel experiences. The flights were changed (not a big deal) and I was told I was due a refund. After three 1-1.5 hour calls no such refund has come and both agencies says the other is due to provide. I am furious and will never use Kayak or Justfly again."

When we finally were told that there is a flight - huge lines to check in. No help with connecting flights was offered. when I asked to reserve a connecting flight - I was put on a connecting flight that I missed anyway because of further on-going delay. When I reached Istanbul - no help was actively offered. I had to arrange my connecting flight. No compensation was offered. When we asked for some food and water, we were sent to the lowest level lounge in Ataturk airport. Very poor Turkish Airlines experience!"

Check in service of air port was very bad . It’s need to improve

Late gate change. Delta’s gate 37 is actually gate 24B- of course it is because it’s LAX. Delta staff acts as if 37=24B is the new math and we are stupid to not know this conversion. Delta staff acts surely and borderline hostel. Not sure if this is LAX or Delta’s culture. Either way, it stinks.

Double booked for my seat, got put in a seat that was smaller and towards the back. Uncomfortable seats, air was insufficient, wifi stopped working for over an hour.

We paid for preferred seating for extra leg room. On 3of the 4 flights the preferred seating were regular seats with no extra leg room. It was deceitful to advertise those seats at preferred seating. I would not have wasted my money paying extra had I known what I was getting.

Traveling first class, the seats are a little wider than in coach and have a little more leg room, but calling it "first class" is a bit of an exaggeration. It's more like what coach used to be before the days of the flying sardine cans."

Contra: "Boeing 767-400ER seats had no leg room for 6'+ traveller like me. The entertainment system was so old that there were no 115v outlets or USB ports. On a 7-hour flight, that is a significant problem for travellers today with multiple electronic devices. Finally, we were not told in advance that we had to go through security twice and through US Customs BEFORE leaving Dublin. So, the 6-hour layover at JFK was a complete waste of our time as we did not have to go through Customs there."

Contra: "Rather than pay luggage fees, people are bringing on their luggage and the flight ALWAYS runs out of space. Suitcases are being moved around right at people heads and more than once I've been hit and seen other people be hit in the head by a suitcase. Getting luggage in place used to be a simple and minor issue, now it occupies much of the time, energy, and attention of the cabin crew as well as the gate crew. I realize this is making money for Delta but the cost is being paid by people being hit in the head with luggage and the crew's unavailability to deal with other issues."

Contra: "The security process in the Prague airport is so ridiculous. There are security agents who screen you in the baggage drop off line that makes the line take a very long time. Once you finally get your sticker from them it’s a quick trip through customs. Then the pain really begins with a security scan st each individual gate to enter a boarding area for the plane. Then I was pulled for extra security where a male agent touched my but with some sort of swab with no warning. He then claimed to not speak English (with zero accent when I asked him a question). It was a humiliating and very long process all run by delta!"

Very disappointed of Delta - lost 3 hrs at the airport today"

The time spent was around 6 hours....4 of them the were on one continuous phone call where we were bumped back and forth between West Jet and Delta. The problem was never fixed and we haven’t flown home yet. We have new flights booked on Delta but only because Delta took pity....West Jet does no refunds or reticketing. If flights are missed you're out on of luck!"

When I got to checkout they said I had pay for the suitcase. Turns out my flight was economy 'light' flight and I had to go the Austrian airlines desk and pay euro 40 for my suitcase. Wish that would have been clear when I purchased the ticket. Also there is no clear info on what the cost is for your bag at what point in the check-in process."

In the U.S., we are customers that paid for a service and are asking for details on that service. In Europe, we are annoyances that depend on staff at the boarding gates to get on the plane, so power tripping and general disdain to customers beings confused are part of the game. I will try never to fly Austrian Airlines again. Absolutely unacceptable behavior toward families, mothers with children, senior citizens. I can almost see the smirks and annoyed and superior attitude of staff at the boarding gate when they had to deal with more passengers asking why boarding hasn't started half an hour ago when we were announced it would. No answers, just show me the passport and boarding pass, ok, please go back, we'll let you know, then ignore questions."

The United Airlines was very empathizing with me and my situation and they issued me other boarding passes at no cost. United Airlines suggested me to tell the Austrian Airlines about what happened and they were sure the Austrian Airlines would understand but they were wrong; no understanding on behalf of the Austrian Airlines."

Contra: "The flight attendants did a satisfactory job of distributing meals and snacks only if you were awake during their service round. I was resting on one occasion and missed the snack. I was total ignored when I asked for a serving. The boarding process was disorganized and the flight was delayed about an hour. Seat way too small for transatlantic. I weight 62kg and was sitting in a middle seat. Next time I'll have to get an upgrade."

Delay and change of terminal last minute

Thumbs up for KLM crew, planes and Schiphol Airport, though short on staff and a little late everything went smooth, including the flight.

Problems with the in-flight wi-fi (none) and the flight info (none). However, movies worked fine and the selection is exceptional.

New 737 and seats too confining

Not the first time we have experienced defective entertainment system on this trip. It should be upgraded.

When my parents were checking in for flight they asked the representative about meal selection and she didn't answer their questions properly and because of that my mom didn't get proper Hindu Vegetarian food on flight instead she got Egg omelet which she couldn't eat. She has to eat just fruits. My mother is a diabetic patient and she needs a food every after some time. I never had such a bad experience before with any other airlines."

Contra: "I’ve traveled a lot internationally and this was the WORST flight I’ve ever had to endure. I felt like I was being tortured and didn’t sleep at all and so slept when getting into Amsterdam rather than being able to explore the city. I was out $200 for the Airbnb (could’ve stayed in the airport cheaper) and $200 for a dinner cruise I slept through. NEVER AGAIN"

Pro: "The crew was fantastic! Our needs were constantly being met and just about the time you thought you might want a snack or a meal, the attendants were already heading down the aisle. Because of an allergic reaction, I asked for ice a number of times and the attendants were more than happy to meet my needs."
Contra: "The seats were very close together. The trip from New York to Amsterdam seemed a lot more comfortable than the return flight. The food from NYC JFK was better than the food from Amsterdam. The movie selection on both flights was a little disappointing."

Contra: "Poor timing - no reason for a 40 minute delay at take off (plane was fully boarded in time) Old aircraft, shabby, dirty and cramped seats. Coming from my connecting flight from Barcelona, I could clearly tell the different in the quality (and cleanliness) of the aircrafts."

Contra: "Flight way delayed 3 hours. Staff gave no information and wouldn't help rebook us onto other flights. They gave us food vouchers 2 minutes before we finally boarded, so we couldn't use them. The food on the plane had spoiled so we were all starving on the flight, and we all missed our connections. Horrible experience and wouldn't fly with KLM again."

Pro: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Contra: "Train your ground crew. Our luggage was not placed on our flight from Paris to Amsterdam and were sent to Amsterdam on separate planes. My husband’s medication was in his bag. This was a great inconvenience for us. Never again on Air Canada. I suggest you explore the baggage process used by Delta."

My mother is 94 years old and we did the best we could given the circumstance."
