The main courses were mediocre and the "sandwich" offered between meals on the 13+ hour flight was cold, soggy and inedible. The seats on our A350 were hard and not very comfortable, and the recline function was difficult to operate. Security at the Doha airport was confusing. We had to go through 3 separate checkpoints for our transfer, each with different rules and procedures. The final check at our departure gate was the worst, with impatient officials giving hurried instructions in heavily-accented English, and scolding if passengers didn't understand. I was sent back through a second time to remove my camera from the bag (and to be scolded by the agent), and was patted down a second time coming back through the x-ray, which had green-lighted me both times. It made me wonder if this was a reaction to the extra scrutiny that Arab passengers receive from our airport security in the USA."

Contra: "The arrival time was slightly delayed but overall it was okay. The hot food again can be improved as the chicken dish had no vegetables (even though there was a side salad dish). The waiting lounge at Doha airport gate was a bit cramped, and the bus ride from the gate to the aircraft was also a bit long."

Contra: "Boarding this flight consisted of minimal organization on the crews behalf, the Gate's security machines were off, people scattered everywhere with not enough seats to fit everyone. When entering the gate (with security machines turned off keeping in mind everyone has already passed general airport security and is only trying to enter the gate. Staff would direct passengers towards an attempt at creating a boarding queue. Once passing the gate doors and walking towards the queue directed by staff, it seemed to be a normal occurance to have another staff memeber shout at you and redirect you another way. Getting scolded by gate employees and requested to remove all electronics turn them on and being requested to remove most clothing items at the gate while everyone is watching with security machines off while only selecting a few passengers seems to be a regular occurnace in Doha & with Qatar Airways. People standing all around, no queues were initiated by staff, instead staff would push through passengers to get to the front instead of propretly annoucing the boarding through an intercom. No matter how loud staff was screaming their sounds were drowned out by the passengers which turned boarding a full translatlantic flight into a chaotic scene. Once on the flight I noticed the headphones provided were broken, I politely requested a new pair...from 3 different employees...which took over 20 mins to replaced. Qatar Airways prides itself on quality unfortunately as an economy passenger I have yet to experience any of that other than when it comes to good on flight entertainment."

The seats were fairly comfy and there was actually room! Even when the person in front of me leaned back, my legs still didn't touch the back of the seat (I'm 5-10 with long legs). Very happy with swiss!"

Pro: "I was late ( I had to drive 230 Km ) and I managed to call in advance the company that was doing the check-in on behalf of SWISS - I asked them the Check-in time closing time and by almost flying ( speeding like crazy ) I arrived before that moment."
Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

In this case it wasn't a loss because I noticed that they were showing cartoons, even though there were no children on board. The snack was a simple sandwich, a little smaller than the size of a hotdog bun. Supposedly it was an artesian Swiss sandwich, but I think they could have done better. Overall, I'm happy with Swiss Air, and would definitely fly with them again."

My first flight with Swiss to Switzerland included the correct "vegan" meal do I can't understand how this mistake was made by Swiss on the return flight?"
Contra: "I did not receive a "vegan" meal as ordered originally and though they were very helpful they should all be better educated regarding the differences between "Vegan", Vegetsrian, Lacto-Ovo, etc... Since I was embarrassed as I had to keep rejecting the food they gave me until I educated them on the basics of what Vegan food is... They were very helpful throughout."

Pro: "The movie selection was good and I found a new series to watch. The food was good. Liked the cheese and chocolate."
Contra: "Wish I had more leg room. The long flights cause fluid build up in my legs which was very uncomfortable for eight hours."

Contra: "At the check-in gate there was pandemonium. It was not clear how to proceed. The lines were long and disorderly. Since I had passed through passport control, I didn't think I would need to go through again just before boarding. I was in line, ready to have my boarding pass scanned when I was told I needed to have my passport checked! I had to step out of line, go back and get my passport checked, then go back in line to board! I could not get an assigned seat until I got to Zurich. I needed an aisle seat (I had a bladder infection and would need to use the toilet often). It was left up to me to negotiate with my neighbor to switch seats--- the crew would not help at all. I was cramped in my seat. The man in front of me put his chair too far back; I was difficult to work on my laptop with so little room between me and the table. The snack was horrible---uncooked, tasteless calzone and ice cream."

Contra: "100% of our checked luggage was lost and two days into our one week biking trip in Sweden we have heard NOTHING from Swiss Air. No knowledge of where the four large bags are, no follow up and no help. Basically, we have been left with biking clothing and little hope that our bags will show up before we leave Sweden. Unacceptable and we will NEVER fly this airlines again."

Contra: "Custom control at transfer airport (IST) was very crowded. Then were no Turkish Air representative available to guide to terminal, to reassure flight will be held. Arriving flight was late, very stressful. Turkish Air representatives near lines to say—we are aware you are connecting would have alleviated stress."

Pro: "The rear exit of the plane. The cabin crew were very attentive, almost too much. I brought my cat and she didn't get to sleep much. I appreciate that the attendants wanted to visit with her and give her their attention but it kept her from sleeping and woke me up. Since she had no proper place to use the bathroom she needed to be sleeping to keep her body clock in order."

Contra: "I was at the gate for my flight from Istanbul to Bucharest but 25 minutes before departure I noticed that passengers were lining up at a different gate so I asked what happened. I was told the flight had departed even though it was still 25 minutes before flight time. I then had to go to ticket sales where they charged me $425 dollars for the 80 minute flight to Bucharest. In the US, I would have been put on the next available flight fee of charge. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

Pro: "The coach seats were much more comfortable than Air Canada's. The flight was without incident. Staff were great! Accommodating, friendly and efficient! Incredible choices of movies, news, etc controlled by individual passenger."

Pro: "The Lufthansa flight to Montreal was a really full flight. Lufthansa already gives Silver Star Alliance card holders preferential seats, but for the Montreal flight I got upgraded to Business. What a pleasure! I felt like a really valued customer. At a time where one has to pick value for money and figure out your loyalties in air travel; I can promise that Lufthansa will be a top choice for me on future flights. Excellent in all regards."

Contra: "It was a really rainy day and we all had to get on shuttles to get to our plane. Once we reached the plane, the crew should have facilitated an orderly boarding through both doors rather than one. This was also a pretty empty flight and other passengers were utilizing their assigned seat as well as a whole other row and calling it theirs just because they set something on one seat. It didn't seem right that some of us had to stay in our little crowded area while others used up 4 seats and I don't mean for laying down."

Contra: "4 hrs delayed. Terrible. My niece is from germany and this is her first time ro the US. She is travelling by herseelf and no one is there to assist her. She speaks english sporadically. Air canada is a terivle airline. Always delay."

Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Contra: "Poor communication between delta, KLM and Air France meant that I couldn’t check in online and get a digital boarding pass. Furthermore I couldn’t use the check-in kiosks because my name was listed as Reidmr instead of Reid, which meant that my boarding pass did not match my passport. Overall this caused unnecessary delays that were compounded by the fact that I couldn’t use my TSA precheck. My main problem on the plane was that I had to struggle to get water served to me. It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?"

Contra: "KLM can't seem to figure out the order of boarding the plane. Should be business - priority - everyone else. Instead they do priority first, and that's usually two-thirds of the passengers. Also, really tired of the fake business class on these flights..."
