He told us that our flight had already left but he would get us on the next one. We ended up getting seats on the next flight but then were also given the option to get a temporary visa and explore Doha for the night. We opted for the comped night which included a very nice hotel and $100 in meal vouchers. We absolutely LOVED Doha and the hotel and food was fantastic! I don't think I have ever received better service from an airline or a hotel. We ended up walking around Souq Waquif and the downtown until 1am (we are two young females!) with no issue and just used Uber to get to and from the hotel. Everything was so well laid out for us! No complaints whatsoever!"

May your answer to these be addressed to everyone who might be considering you and or supposed to be customer of yours so that they will be aware what to expect from you. Thank you."

Pro: "I have been spoiled with the large planes, so the small ones to me are cramped, but thats with all carriers not just Lufthansa. I generally prefer to fly Lufthansa when heading to Europe."
Contra: "It took over an hour to drop off a bag prior to boarding. I had already checked in online. There were long lines in Bucharest and simply not enough staff working the Lufthansa desks."

Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

Contra: "In Dubai, British Air won't allow you check in more than three hours prior to flight time. Since you can't check in, you can't go through security. Since you can't go through security, you can't get to the actual terminal (where all the stores, restaurants, lounges, etc are). Therefore, if you arrive at the airport too early. you're stuck in the outer holding area prior to the check in area. Nothing to do. Nowhere to go. Still weighted down with all your bags. A real bummer. Once you're allowed to check in, it takes about 30 minutes to get to the real terminal (check in, emigration, security, train ride, etc). The flight starts boarding one hour prior to departure. This leaves about 90 minutes to make it through the entire terminal and get to the gate. Any extra time can be spent looking at all the things you could have enjoyed if you could have checked in earlier. Since nobody including British Air told this in advance, we ended up twiddling our thumbs for eleven hours in the outer holding area."

Contra: "Seats in coach did not have much width or leg room. I don't like the policy of buying a flight and having to pay for a selected seat - that smacks of bait and switch. I know everybody is doing it, but it's tacking on extras once the committment has been made and that is low. The boarding process in London was horrible. queuing up everybody then telling them the general boarding is "over there". The lines should be more well-defined and single file to avoid bunching up. There was plenty of room to form lines, but the stanchions were not in place. Poorly executed. Also, there are FAR too many priorty boarding classes. People had to jump lines and go around barrier tapes to get to their positions in line when their priority class was called. Once on board, the crew did a fine job, but the boarding area is completely screwed up."
Pro: "The crew were pleasant and attentive. The food and entertainment were good. We had a large meal, a light meal, and a snack for an 11 hour flight. Plus drinks. The lights were kept off for half the time so we could sleep or rest."
Contra: "The seats are horribly crowded. If the person in front of you lowers their seat back (as mine did) you have about 8 inches from your face to their seat back. That with already very little seat room and I felt as though I was in a straight jacket for much of the flight."

Contra: "We ran 2 hours and 10 min. over schedule getting from London to PHX. I can't understand why because pilot never said we were running late. When we landed we weren't told about the 2hr 10 min. time overage, but my sister said the plane reversed course around Iceland for a while, then turned around again and got back on track, but the PHX cell lot flight tracking board never said the flight was delayed or running late. She waited for me to get out of the airport an additional 3 hours. Luggage took a LONG time to get to the staging area and we had no clue what the problem was. It seems a simple task to put the PHX luggage in one area of cargo, and luggage going on to another destination in another area so 1st off clients could get their luggage and leave. There was a lot of luggage on the carousel that didn't get picked up. Very poor on the ground crew's part. When I have been in the air for 10 - 12 hours, I want to get my luggage and get home. Customs was a breeze compared to getting my luggage. BA lost my luggage at Heathrow on the way to Prague, and on the return had problems getting luggage to the passengers WAITING at the airport. You need to address how you handle customer luggage."

I will not fly aa next year, because it was a big inconvenience, plus I had to reschedule my work appointment as well and rearrange pick up from airport."

Contra: "It was a full flight of 10:40 hours and one of the bathrooms was out of service. How can they do full, LONG HAUL flights with limited bathroom facilities. The seats were past their prime. The passenger in front of me was large and every time he moved, the seat pushed way back and I felt like he was going to end up in my lap."
Contra: "Even though we had assigned seats we did not get them. I requested an isle seat and given a middle seat. Boarding was by far the worst I've see in the 30 years I'm flying, no order, you could barely understand the person making the announcements. The entertainment system was outdated (screen size and resolution) as well as the controls were extremely hard to use. The seats were hard to use and lean back. A lot of force was required to even make them move 1 in. The AC system was NOT working. It felt like we were inside an oven. I've repeatedly asked the crew to fix the AC along with other passengers, and their response was we are going to look into it. It took over 2 hours for the plane to start cooling down. By that time I was sweating profusely and had a headache. Despite the fact that we made our reservations 3 months before the flight, we did not have a seat assigned and we had to wait, in line, for over 20 minutes to talk to a customer rep in order to figure out what's the issue with our seat assignment. To top all that my wife was pregnant and there were no places for her to seat while we waited for a resolution to this matter."
