JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."

Contra: "Our flight was delayed for two hours. We have a connecting flight from Osaka to Los Angeles, which we were worried we couldn't make it. They told me the flight will wait for us because there were 20 plus people also need to get on that plane. When the time of boarding we heard they were calling us to the front and explained the flight we were suppose to be connecting already took off. They had to booked us to another airline. We were extremely disappointed! We asked if we could took another Japanese airline but they said our luggages were already transferred to that airline and the tickets were printed! Mosf importantly we have already waited in airport 5 hours and they needed us to wait for another 3 hours! Very bad experience with how they dealing with this situation!"

Contra: "Checking in with Japan Airlines was a serious hassle. I had my e-ticket but they kept asking me if I had already paid. The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency."

Pro: "The stewardess of the flight from LA to Osaka was awesome , I don't remember her exactly name , I think she is older then other crew members working that day on economy class . She was very professional , serving customer with the best she can. Always smiles. I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

The hostesses were super friendly always offering some sort of beverage, the food was tasty (Be careful not to drop noodles on yourself like I did, those bad boys left a little mark). The video selection wasn't huge, but it was definitely adequate with good titles. Maybe I haven't noticed this before in other airlines, but they had new toothbrushes (packaged, not someone's forgotten toothbrush) in the restroom so the poor sap next to me didn't have to smell my stinky breath. Finally, they were quick with boarding! They were very punctual and we took off right when we got on, so nice!"
Contra: "The seats were pretty adequately sized, however, I felt like I couldn't lay back too far or if the the person in front of me did, it made it really difficult to get the seats. Also, I thought it was my headphones, but it happened on a couple of flights with different headphones, but the audio only comes out of one earphone which was slightly annoying... Other than those things, JAL is super solid and I would recommend it to anyone considering them."

Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Contra: "I didn't like that the crew at check-in and the crew on the plane told me different things. The crew at check-in told me I could keep my purse with me, and the crew on the airline told me I had to put it overhead. Please be consistent! Flying is very stressful for me, and I want the staff to make it as stress-free as possible. As for boarding, I wasn't allowed into the gate until an hour before. What really bothered me was that they had already let some people into the gate and shut some other people out. Either let people in or don't. Don't follow the rules halfway because then they won't mean anything. I was very shocked by this and have never experienced this at any airline before. All I wanted to do was sit down and relax at the gate before boarding. If this ever happened to me again, I would not fly with the same airlines. To think that this was a JAL flight, with such a high reputation of customer service, makes me even more wary of booking a flight with JAL. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, and I will not tolerate it if it happens again."

Yeah my flight was delay by 3 hours for reasons out of their control and I missed my connecting flight but they completely made up for it. The food and drinks were really good along with the service. Plus they booked me on another flight along with a hotel for the night. Awesome service and experience, I would travel with them again."

Although the menu said you could have a choice but some of the choices were exhausted by the time crew served it to the half of the travellers and the rest have to eat whatever was leftover. I think Emirates should stock a bit more of the food especially on a plane like Airbus 380. Its a huge aircraft and passengers sting at the vey end had to wait almost 45 min to 1 hr to get their food and that too was whatever leftover. They should make efforts to server all the passengers within a short amount to time rather than keep them waiting for so long. Most of the time more than half of the passengers had already eaten while those sitting in the back were still waiting for their food. Its not cabin crew's inefficiency but rather a policy problem that needs to be addressed."

Pro: "Aircraft and entertainment are still among the best , and overall it compares well to intl competition"
Contra: "Emirates of a few years ago was more comfortable and the rewards scheme was more generous. I hope they can think about giving Uae residents a fairer shake as we seem to pay a lot more for flights. Silver members used to get access to lounges but not anymore?? Taking things away feels worse than if we never had it before. Abu Dhabi Doha and Sharjah are all near and cheaper to dxb and it’s tempting to switch as they offer a comprable service. Also dxb is overcrowded itd a long taxi and walk depending on your gate."

Pressed the cabin crew call button and took over 15 mins for someone to respond (and only after I caught someone's attention walking past - for the second time, the first person took my request then never reappeared). This despite at least 8 crew members walking past me."

Contra: "The connecting flight is too short of a time. We were late out of LAX and I missed my connection and had to sit in airport for 5 hours. Missed my grandson’s third birthday party. Just made me sad as Travelled from far to try to make it."

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

Contra: "This airline charges for everything, and after you pay once, they try to charge you again, and again, and again (four different people tried to charge me 4 different times for my two checked bags). And they lost the record of my payment, so I had to show 4 times the Amex receipt showing that I had paid before. It took 45 minutes and 4 non receptive agents for me to get my luggage checked. British Airways is significantly better."

Contra: "I was almost forced to stow my luggage in the hold despite me telling the check-in people tjat I had my meds and cpap in the carryon. I spoke to multiple people. Not sensitive."

When I was going to return , they made me payed 120 dollars ( in Kiev , Ukraine (UIA) , I was very disappointed and I really will love an explanation about all this !"

The crew was non-existent most of the flight."

We were served a continental breakfast that was filling and healthy with cereal, fresh fruit, Brie, soft crackers and yogurt. I'd rather have something simple but satisfying than something overcomplicated and possibly not that good. The crew was polite and efficient. I did have to use the lavatory at one point and I was happy that it was clean."

They supposedly had entertainment that you could watch on your phone or tablet, but it was only tv shows as well?!"

Contra: "Roof mounted tvs a bit disappointing and the films were just repeated. Coffee needs coffee in the cup, it was just milk and water no taste of coffee."

The entertainment system was having problems and the whole entertainment system had to be re-booted about 90 minutes into the flight. It still didn't fix my seat's TV. Otherwise the trip was uneventful and we managed to get better seats on the return flight."

Pro: "On this flight back to Arizona they arrayed mutt husband and I together, unlike on our way to Spokane. That was much better. We had more leg room this time."

When you check in they take your cell phone "in case " well no call no txt no nothing. It was a joke the level of service No apologies or anything just a group of any tired patrons getting the worst customer experience. I'll never EVER book a flight that has anything to do with American Airlines or its partners"

Contra: "American Airlines baggage check-in at Paris CDG was total chaos. It took 1 1/2 hours. They need a systems analyst to review their process; especially for customers using their ticket kiosks during check-in when the lines get long. There's never a problem when the lines are small (duh !!). The staff involved in baggage check did well considering the poor process flow they had to deal with. The entire flight crew was great. It is management that is falling down on the job."

Pro: "Great staff, clean plane, comfy seat, easy boarding, unbeatable inflight entertainment."

Contra: "The airline "randomly" selected me for extra security. Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

Contra: "Over an hour delayed and multiple gate changes before we finally boarded"

Contra: "It really wasn't "On-Time", but you couldn't tell that from the monitors. (I'm sure you like to keep your statistics "clean", but they shouldn't be dishonest.) A TSA? agent had us initially wait in a long incorrect line after we picked up our passport scanner sheets even though we told her we had a tight connection. Afterwards, she moved us along with a few others. That line could have swamped us!"

Pro: "I liked that the internet connection was free because I am a T-Mobile customer."
Contra: "Boarding the plane was a bit clumsy. I felt like everyone was tripping over each other since the front of the plane was boarding first."

THEN THE LOBBY AGENT COULD NOT LOCATE ALASKA FLIGHT ON THE AMERICAN TERMINAL - ANOTHER DELAY. POOR EXPERIENCE OVERALL."

Contra: "The Live TV entertainment froze so many times when trying to watch either CNN or CNBC. Finally gave up on it. The Touch Screen responsiveness could be much better. However; once a movie was selected, watching it was an excellent experience. The Leg room was not the best either, but I blame myself on this in that I almost waited till the last minute to buy my self a ticket."

Contra: "I dislike how early the entertainment system shuts off"

Pro: "- The boarding process went very fast and smooth for such a packed plane."
Contra: "- food was HORRIBLE. I asked for the chicken dinner and it was COLD and disgusting. There should always be a pasta option on a flight. Also, they ran out of red wine before dinner. - the staff skipped over me TWICE when handing out beverages. I had to remind them that I existed twice and they didn't apologize for skipping over me."

Contra: "We couldn't hear any of the group calling. There were so many different reward members that by the time group B was called I had to check in my baggage. I was not able to pick another seat during ticketing. When I fly for business I generally have a carry on so I can quickly catch my ride however dour to check in of my baggage I had to wait another 30 min before I received my baggage. Air hostess were not very friendly or helpful."

Contra: "The 7:00 flight was delayed for an hour and then delayed for another 2. Meanwhile, the 8:00 flight was called for boarding. It was very frustrating. Those of us who got in line quickly were able to fly standby on the 8:00 flight. I felt the airline did not treat us honestly. I believe the reasons for the delays were known long before the delays were communicated to passengers. (For example, there was a new delay announcement at 8:00 for a flight scheduled to leave at 7:58). Had we been informed earlier, people could have made alternate plans if they wanted to do so (e.g. Rent a car or reschedule for the next day.)"

Contra: "Plane is small, overpacked, delayed. I lost my shuttle to the Keys and had to stay overnight in Miami."

Pro: "I liked that I flew from New Orleans to Dallas."
Contra: "I didn't like the fact that I took an Uber to the airport only to find our my flight was delayed 12 hours, so I took an Uber back home. 10 hours later we took an Uber back to the airport, Uber is great. Then we got to the Hotel and they gave our room to someone else, so we had to wait 6 hours to get in A room, not the $100 room which we booked. American Airlines is fine, Wyndham Hotel screwed us. I paid $200 for 1 night."

Pro: "Seeing the fireworks coming into Nashville was a unique experience. Plenty of room on the flight. Confident and competent staff made it a pleasant experience."
