Then after a while when going to the restroom i asked the male steward if he would have a pen please, he pointed out they dont have any pens. ( please note he marked on his check board, who is getting which meal on the first class)"

Two tiny closet bathrooms in the back for all of coach and a much larger one much larger one first class (which is like 5 rows with a mesh curtain for separation). The coach bathrooms are so small a normal person can barely get in and turn around to close the door. I question whether a larger person would be able to actually use them. I also saw the flight attendant actively turn away coach passengers trying to use the first class bathroom when it was open (not standing in the aisle or anything annoying like that). That's ridiculous to have 2 tiny bathrooms for all of coach and also to make people walk all the way to the back of the plane when you are seated much closer to the first class bathroom."

What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."

When I got to checkout they said I had pay for the suitcase. Turns out my flight was economy 'light' flight and I had to go the Austrian airlines desk and pay euro 40 for my suitcase. Wish that would have been clear when I purchased the ticket. Also there is no clear info on what the cost is for your bag at what point in the check-in process."

I understand I have traveled on the economy class but shouldn't make a difference how you treat the travelers. The pillows were dirty!!!!! Not only one, because I have asked for more......most of them! It is disgusting! Something must have been wrong with the headphones because the volume was on max when i tried to watch the move but barely could hear anything. I have flew with Lufthansa most of the time and in the future will chose them. Very disappointing that sooo many little things are interrupting a vacation."

Seats in economy are miniscule, your neighbors are in your laps, the food is objectionable and costly, entertainment non-existent or costly. Customers are cash cows who can be sucked dry for every amenity."

Contra: "Lack of communication - after we had checked in at the airport (under 2 hours before our international flight time) we were notified that our flight was delayed by an hour and 45 minutes. After waiting about 4 hours everyone started lining up in their respective rows and that's when the terminal United employees decided to inform us all that all passengers need to get in line at the desk first in order to get their passports inspected and get an approval stamp before lining up. Could have easily been done in the hour and 45 minutes of delay time we had. It's now 11:30 am, 2 hours past the original flight time and 15 minutes past the original delayed time, and we were all still in our respective lines to board the plane. The delay was due to the catering cart that had not yet arrived. So we were all waiting for about 30 minutes in line just to board the plane. During this time United decided to promote their Entertainment onboard and alcohol available for purchase once we are airborn. Finally when we were on board and about to be airborn is when the first apology was heard from the crew. This could have been managed much more effectively and professionally."

A customer ask if they were serving drinks the male stewardess waved his hand and seemed quite annoyed and stated " mam what do you want to drink". In addition he would walk down the aisle and give you three wafer cookies , I'm wondering why three???? That's because he wanted me to pass them down as if I was in an assembly line rather than handing each customer a cookie. He walked through the aisle with water and never asked if anyone if they would like water. It was almost like he was annoyed at everyone in sight . I have never experienced such behavior on flight. I flew Unites AIrlines plenty of times and NEVER experienced this. The other customers in my row expressed their frustration with the unkindness of treatment during the flight. I understand it's a very hectic weekend with the holiday but there was absolutely no reason to experience such behavior. My party will not be looking forward to using united again!"

If the customer service representatives are not Empowered enough to rectify such an egregious inconvenience, then why do they exist?"
