After going through the whole security screening process to enter the departures area (I boarded in Singapore), the whole security process is performed again to get to the gate. Why do I and my carry-on luggage need to be checked twice? Once at the gate, all passengers are herded like sheep into an area that has insufficient seats for the number of passengers, so many are left to stand or sit on the floor. If the airline wants to use a plane that carries 500+ passengers, then use a gate that can accommodate that number."

My row and row behind me lost power during the flight so we had NO entertainment, and could no longer charge our devices for the rest of the 11-hour flight. The crew managed to reboot the system about 2 hours after the first meal, so we enjoyed some entertainment, but after a little while, the movie and sound stopped working. After about an hour an announcement was made that the entire entertainment system would be rebooted. It started working around the last hour of the flight. Not relaxing at all."

Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

I had to step out of line, go back and get my passport checked, then go back in line to board! I could not get an assigned seat until I got to Zurich. I needed an aisle seat (I had a bladder infection and would need to use the toilet often). It was left up to me to negotiate with my neighbor to switch seats--- the crew would not help at all. I was cramped in my seat. The man in front of me put his chair too far back; I was difficult to work on my laptop with so little room between me and the table. The snack was horrible---uncooked, tasteless calzone and ice cream."

I watched an 80+ couple who were in first class with me try to board early because of there mobility. "You need to get in line over there on the right" was the answer...sorry to see that happen with Delta !!"

The bin has a total weigh limit, not the individual bag. Lufthansa needs to educate its employees."

Contra: "Sardines in a can. For 10 hours. Why do they let people recline? And this old 747 has been rode hard and put up wet. Lots of broken light switches, etc."

Asked for help to find a different seat even if I had to pay for an upgrade and was told I couldn’t do that after the flight had started"
Pro: "Could not get skybridge to operate so that we could disembark. United airlines."
Contra: "Poor food on first leg. Sat by a man who was allowed to have 7 cans of beer. On second leg of journey I was willing to pay for food. The best choice for anyone trying to eat a healthy diet was pot noodles. Air Canada get 2 stars. Return journey on United gets 4stars."

Contra: "Departure gate was not shown on the ticket. By the time we found a LH rep we were told that the flight was operated by United. After we found a United rep and started walking towards the gate we came across the passport control area that had a huge crowd waiting in line. I saw that we literally had 15 min left, while the long line would take us 20-25 min to get through. We had to jump through the lines and cut in front of people explaining everybody our predicament and making people upset. Got back stressed and tired"
Pro: "The Lufthansa flight to Montreal was a really full flight. Lufthansa already gives Silver Star Alliance card holders preferential seats, but for the Montreal flight I got upgraded to Business. What a pleasure! I felt like a really valued customer. At a time where one has to pick value for money and figure out your loyalties in air travel; I can promise that Lufthansa will be a top choice for me on future flights. Excellent in all regards."
Pro: "From Munich to Toronto, it was great, especially being seated where I wanted, the window. I was able to watch great movies too, and during a 9hr flight, thats really nice."
Contra: "The food could be better. Too salty. But it is better than nothing and it was hot! So that was good."
Contra: "It was a really rainy day and we all had to get on shuttles to get to our plane. Once we reached the plane, the crew should have facilitated an orderly boarding through both doors rather than one. This was also a pretty empty flight and other passengers were utilizing their assigned seat as well as a whole other row and calling it theirs just because they set something on one seat. It didn't seem right that some of us had to stay in our little crowded area while others used up 4 seats and I don't mean for laying down."
Pro: "We had a four hour delay and were promptly put in a hotel; Sheraton beds are very comfortable, I wish I had more than three hours to sleep."
Contra: "I never heard major announcements regarding the delay or the meal voucher (maybe not loud enough?). If they said it only once, they should've repeated it. It sounds stupid, but I waited for an hour at boarding before I realized the lineup is for meal vouchers and not the flight. Nobody approached or announced anything, I had to go and ask about changes and details."

Contra: "What could have been better is: - the email that the airline generates and senda to people a couple of days prior to flight directs you to a site where you are supposed to fill in the blanks. About Covid. The thing is that you cannot submit it unless you as a passenger fill out an Austrian address. The electronic form does not have the option to rule out staying in Austria and indicating that you are transiting in Vienna. I had to fill that form out (at the Address in Austria section) with sentences like “not applicable” “transitting” and also had to google the Vienna Airport address for the zip code so it could be submitted. The form forced me to fool the it. Not cool. Frustrating."

Contra: "My father and I were seated in biz class but were unable to sleep because of a fan noise directly over our seats in Row 9. We complained to the attendant about it but she was unable to determine the cause. Many hours later, a different crew member identified the noise source and stopped it by simply flipping a switch. This disruptive noise could have easily been avoided but the ignorance of the crew member to whom we complained failed to solve it. By the time the second crew member identified the problem there was not enough time to sleep. This experience was extremely disappointing. We paid extra to fly business class so we could sleep, but this ridiculous crew error fouled our plans. We asked the crew to file a report about it and they did. Look into it. We expect a refund of the extra fare we paid, or else we will never fly Austrian Airlines again. I am an affluent person and I travel internationally 6 times per year. You would be smart not to anger me and lose my business."
Pro: "We arrived on time"
Contra: "We had to stand around for a long time waiting for a bus to take us to the plane. The bus was horribly crowded. Then we arrived at the plane and had to walk up the stairs to get on. There was no food served---just a cracker and some juice or water. After we arrived in Paris we waited a long time for the baggage to arrive."
Contra: "Flight was cancelled and we weren't notified."
Contra: "Although AU blamed late arrival of the plane from Russia, fact is that the plane was at least one hour at the dock before boarding and the AU team was just extremely slow to get boarding done. We were all invited 45 minutes before boarding to board, when apologies were already offered for the slight delay, which turned into 1.5 hour overall. Worst is the lack of communication during the 45 minute wait, for which I have little understanding seeing many older people clearly suffering."
Pro: "Whole process of checking in, security, and boarding was very easy."
Contra: "It took us 2 tries to get there due to weather and they had us waiting in the airport for 12 hours in the middle of the night. We first flew to Lviv and then they turned the plane around and came back as we were landing. I appreciate that they did this for safety reasons. When we got back however at 2:30am, they did not provide us with a hotel and just gave us blankets and pillows to sleep in the airport. They also offered us only a piece of bread with ham and cheese and a coffee for the next 12 hours until the new flight left. Not a pleasant experience."
Pro: "When you travel with an infant it's already a difficult trip but it's really fraustrating when you find out that they didn't assign you to the seats with the baby bassanet, and when I went to the counter to fix the problem instead they change our window seats to an isle seats without even asking or notifying us with the changes, and they when I asked how come you don't automatically assign infant reservations to infant seats their excuse was what if there were more infants than available infant seats and they already gave out those seats with extended leg space to others who already had paid for it, and surprisingly there were multiple of infants on board none of them in those seats but rather the other passengers who paid for it, so basically they got paid extra and you will only suffer for almost 10 hrs so they can make extra profit. NEVER AGAIN AUSTRIAN AIRLINES!!!"

Pro: "Catering and service was superb. While linen. Course by course on China, no tray service. The food was exquisite. The wine was acceptable, mid range, with very generous pours in Riedel glassware and always the offer made of would I like anything more? The seperate coffee menu has to be experienced to be believed, basically, it's an authentic Vienna see cafe experience at 30,000 ft."
Contra: "Entertainment selection was fiddly and the offerings meagre compared to the vast libraries found on other carriers, but it was sufficient. More a quibble than a gripe from me. The noise cancelling headsets were good quality noise cancelling, and comfortable. I can't wear some other airlines headsets at all and use my ear pods with an airline adapter jack."
Contra: "Austrian Air has really slipped in its food-product.. Lufthansa put out snacks (cookies etc; even small sandwiches to 'help yourself from' going from Atlanta to Frankfort which was nice). But not the case with Austrian The serving of it was fine. Restroom options are less than adequate too."
Contra: "5 hour delay. One staff member said there would be a delay, the second said there was no delay and after a couple hours the delay was confirmed. I was told the flight was full without the attendant even checking, flight was actually not even close to full. Nobody wanted to help and do their job, they just want to send you on your way."
