I liked that flight attendants always make sure people have masks on and properly covering their mouths and noses. I dislike that when the plane lands people are not maintaining social distancing in the aisle. Attendants should make a way to ask people out of their seats systematically.

Contra: "The crew at check-in & at boarding checked me in to fly to Tel-Aviv (transiting at Istanbul) without any comment on visa or passport at Washington D.C. In Istanbul, I was not allowed to board on the flight to Tel-Aviv. I was not allowed to stay in Istanbul. Crew (Erin Uler) who stopped me from boarding the flight said he would help, but disappeared. Othes kept sending me back and forth between transfer desk and sales desk with inconsistent advice every time. I had no way out, so decided I will fly to the closest European country. This was after I had been back and forth for 7 hours. I had to pay full for flight to Greece. I asked to be sent back to D.C. they could not even work that out. I have a return ticket to fly back to Washington D.C. with Turkish Airline on 1 Jan and they said they will need to re-ticket my paid return flight as well. Turkish airline crew did not would not help me fix my return flight back to D.C. They have asked me to contact the agent ( Kayak). Now I am stuck in Athens, a country I have never visited nor planned to. My tours & accommodation, all paid for in Israel, I have lost. I had a tour fully paid in Israel. I have no ticket to return back to D.C. even though I paid for ticket with cancellation insurance when I bought the ticket. The advice between Turkish crew who checked my passport (official) while I was flying out of D.C. vs the Turkish crew who stopped me from boarding was inconsistent. If I had been stopped in D.C. I wouldn't have had to face the events that followed. Now I have lost my tours, hotel in Israel. I had to pay extra for flight to Athens and I am paying for hotel and sundry in Athens while waiting for flight out. Turkish crew at Istanbul were not only unhelpful but rude and inconsistent. While I was waiting for 8 hours for a firm information, shouting matches between Turkish crew and customers went on at least a dozen times. Inconsistent information from Turkish staff has led me to be currently stuck in Athens. I am waiting for a way back to D.C. There should be a rule that fines an airline if they board people without accurate visa papers and they fail to check it. There should also be a fine to the airline if they stop people from boarding at a transit airport leaving passanger stranded with nowhere to go or return. I ask this issue to be looked at, as I am currently stuck in Athens. I need a ticket to go back to D.C."

Contra: "Your incompetent agents messed up my reservation multiple times. They called my home and emailed asking for a payment, even though my client bought the ticket for me. Then, when I was checking in I realized my name was wrong even though my client has a document that proves she typed the right name. Finally, and AGAIN KAYAK, I arrive at the airport and Turkish Air says the ticket is booked but not ticked. So I had to jump on a 30min wait over the phone trying to solve issue after issue. Never doing business again with Kayak."

It didn’t take me that long but the flight attendant knocked hard on the door but she didn’t do that for me with the other guy. I didn’t feel welcomed at all from the crew honestly."

The passenger had a relapse a few hours later - again no acknowledgement from the crew to reassure those of us who could hear his cries of distress."

I tried for hours to contact Turkish Airlines and their phone was disconnected. I could not reach anyone to try to re-schedule a new flight or to ask if the flight was going to be re-directed. I received no information and ended up having to book a new flight for the next day. After my flight had already left Turkish Airlines posted on their website an alert. I am shocked that it took so long to post any information and I am very upset that I was unable to reach customer service. I will NOT be choosing this airline to fly on again."

It took quite a while to retrieve the checked carry-on items, with the effect that most of the passengers were lined up down the causeway tube, waiting. The seats are so very cramped on these puddle jumpers; this was way too long a flight for cramped seats that don't recline. The entertainment was wifi that never really worked."

Contra: "This was a united flight. The personal was not helpful, only in helping me communicate with the airport in Rome to change my flight. I had to pay 97 euros for this change. I am upset and think it is not fair that I need to pay for a problem united had with their flight. I also think star Allience failed as they were not able to resolve the problem with their partner airlines."
Pro: "When we fly Trans Atlantic, we always hope it will be with lufthansa! Sometimes they use united as a carrier and it us never as good as lufthansa!"

Contra: "I had paid for comfort seats ($140) extra. When I checked in at gate I was given another seat assignment (without explanation). It turned out to not be comfort seat, in fact it was the last row in the airplane. Had to get eh gate agent back, which was not fast. She said flight was full and a family had been spread out. I understand, but you can't just bump me from a paid and selected seat to a standard seat, especially on transatlantic flight after paying $140 extra. There was no apology. She went back to gate and little while later came back with a comfort seat. Some people seem not to have shown up as the seat next to me stayed open as well. It was very poorly handled."

Pro: "I like that they serve after dinner drinks which will help me to sleep on the plane. Their blankets are better than United. It was a safe flight and I was able to charge my cell phone. I paid for texting and that worked fine for the entire flight. Even with short layover my luggage made it."
Contra: "I was in the last row so it wasn't as comfortable but there were no other aisle seats available. Food was okay but the red wine could have been better."

Contra: "The tray cannot be pullled closer for eating. The seat sitting up is very uncomfortable for reading. I would have liked a pillow. Th poor man in front of me asked for a coke after the meal service was done, and the flight attendant said she had to reserve it for the next flight?! The male announcer flight attendant was very hard to understand, some of his words were slurred and garbled. And the volume was always too loud for both the male and female announcers. There was no entertainment unless you downloaded the app."
Contra: "It appears united is unable to fly their planes on times, in particular on the East Coast. We were delayed by 90min on each legs"
Contra: "My wife and I traveled with bicycles packed in standard boxes and got hit with a whopping $230 charge per bicycle out of the blue. We were expecting no charge because the bicycles were our only check-in baggage for the trip. Couldn't believe the lack of transparency with which we got hit with this charge. Qantas, Air New Zealand, and other airlines we've taken bikes with us on our flights have charged nothing when we traveled in the same fashion. So, if you are a bicyclist traveling with your bicycle, I'd avoid the United-Lufthansa duo."
Contra: "Lufthansa as an agent is a mistake! I had to deal with them prior to flying to the US. I have never ever had to deal with such bad service in my entire life. United was great though and I highly recommend them."
Pro: "The pilots were informative with their announcements and we were informed of turbulence before it started. We also got in ahead of schedule. I also appreciated being able to ask for a glass of water between services as I had fallen asleep."
Contra: "The negative experiences started before we got on the plane. Boarding began slightly behind schedule and was very disorganized. People were all standing in the boarding area and out into the walkway for the concourse. I feel it would be better to have boarding groups come up individually or two at a time. (While group one boards, group two convenes. Once group one has boarded, invite group three to take their place.) Once group three had boarded, an announcement was made that there was no overhead bin space availble for the entirety of group 4. It seems a bit ridiculous that nearly half the plane wouldn’t have overhead space. It took awhile to board group 4 as everyone had luggage to check and once we finally got down the jetway, we had to wait another few minutes before being able to get to our seats as the flight attendant for first class insisted on taking drink orders while she stood in the aisle. I understand this is a perk of first class but I feel it could be better executed. These seats are boarded in group one so to have drink orders incomplete by the time group four is trying to board is irritating at best and incompetent at worst. Once finally at our seats, it became apparent that the announcement about lack of overhead bin space had been made a bit early. The bins were on the full side but they definitely had space available. Also, much of the space had been taken up by jackets and bags that would have fit under the seats; which I felt could have prevented nearly all of the checked bags. The flight was uneventful with minor annoyances like having to pay for entertainment and any sort of food. Even southwest provides entertainment free of charge and I consider them to be more of a budget airline. If I fly Lufthansa again, I will not take a domestic flight through United and will instead book via southwest to and from the international airport Lufthansa flies out of."

There was gum or candy stuck to the floor right were I was supposed to stash my carry on. I pointed it out to the flight attendant and his response was "so you can't put your bag there?" I asked him if he would ruin his bag and put it there and he said "well, you don't know me." What? I had to worry the whole flight about putting my foot on that gooey mess. What did I get for my extra money? Aggravation."

Contra: "The check in staff were unbelievably rude nearly looked and were abrupt and dismissive to a simple question. The cabin crew looked scruffy, and clearly had a lack of pride in their job and presentation. This is the first time I have ever flown United and I must say I would avoid flying with them again if possible, which is a shame and the aircraft and the entertainment on board were good"

The screen was smeared with some substance. The list of movies on the United entertainment app is great (via internet) but connectivity on this type of flight is spotty so the traveler is forced back to the antique screen plane system. Dinner. Butter chicken or vegetable options. Food was bland and very small portions for the length of flight. The snack was delivered immediately after dinner was picked up. I did not open it. Looked like a hard roll with something on it. Style of service is abrupt, bordering on rude. Uses terminology that non-US travelers from different cultures would not understand, for instance do you want "white" coffee. Asked me if I had someone at home to pick up after me as she felt she was cleaning too much off the floor. Her comments appeared to be directed at me but it was not my trash (and even if it was, a better approach would be recommended). The flight attendant realized she had gone too far and apologized. Then complained about this "route" being difficult, with no one listening. She concluded by wishing me a good flight and saying that she hoped that she had not offended me. I assured her that she had. Breakfast was mediocre. Egg with soggy potatoes and an inedible sausage. Did not see what they were offering in the veggie dish. Staff seems tired and not culturally sensitive. There needs to be some retraining and consideration given to long haul menus and entertainment. I take this flight at least once a year. It continues to deteriorate."

Contra: "Boarding took a long time in the plane. There was confusion as they had passengers going both ways in the aisle .. this forced several ppl to stand in the aisle a long time. One of the air hostess had a major attitude. For example one passenger who was stuck in the middle of other passengers asked her politely if she could help him put the carry on in an overhead bin near her .. and she responded "I cant help you, you need to put it up yourself sir". Not something one expects. She was also terse with passengers, ordering them in an annoyed tone."

Contra: "I had a man sit next to me who was in the wrong seat but didn't move. He told the girl to keep his seat and he would stay next to me. He was so big he was in my space and had didn't make any effort to try not to spill over in my area. I had to put a magazine next to my thigh because his body was so hot it was damp! I hated the entire trip. I was cramped up and extremely uncomfortable. This is simply unacceptable to have this happen because huge people can't fit in one seat. I want these obese people to be required to purchase 2 seats because they take mine."
Pro: "Food during a 2-hour flight compared to what United provided in a 7 or 8 hour flight"

Contra: "United service was uniformly poor. When we checked in at Dulles Airport, we had to go to two different counters to send our luggage. The United check-in / baggage attendant determined that two of my bags were 'oversized.' I have travelled dozens of times with these same bags, including on this trip, and none of the airport determined the bags to be oversized. The United seats, which we had purchased as "Premium Economy" from the Lufthansa site were "Economy Plus" and not worth the extra $ 275 per seat. The United plane was not well-maintained and had several obvious defects. If United wants "Star AlliNCE" to mean something, they need to do as well as Lufthansa."
Contra: "Again a full flight and this time I was seated next to an Asian male. I'm deal thy allergic to fish and what did he bring to eat, yep you got it. While I know it's a right for him to do so, I spent the flight with puffed eyes and throat issues. Again, the flight was overbooked"
Pro: "Flight was on time, except that we had to wait a few minutes for more oxygen to be boarded because the flight was completely flow (overbook in fact)."
Contra: "Both my daughter's and my seats were broken. We were not given seats until just before boarding, luckily they were together."
Pro: "Flight crew in Dulles were very helpful in arranging for my daughter and I to sit together. Really appreciated their help."
Pro: "The stewards were nice and they were prompt. The plane seemed to be well cleaned inside and they were quick to get everyone boarded and bags stowed underneath. The pilot knew what he was doing and I had no worries there. Everyone was doing their jobs as well as they could be done."
Contra: "The air nozzle above my seat was broken and would not turn off so I freezing the entire flight, as well as the tray table seeming like it was meant for the lap of an infant versus myself and I can't imagine how someone with longer legs than myself dealt with the way it folded down. The take off was rough either seemingly due to tires or perhaps a rough runway. The wifi on the plane would not work. It worked ok my first flight but not on the second. I don't know why and no one knew why either, had the latest app and it was updated to the current version."
Contra: "I booked a one way flight to Dallas (DFW) for my father and I using Kayak to leave from washington D.C. (IAD) 05:30 PM - 08:04 PM United Airlines Flight 6296 Operated by Oriental Air Bridge I booked it for Saturday January 21st and it went to pricline.com and confirmed it. The problem is that when I looked on the confirmation email/boarding pass it said I was supposed to be leaving January 20th, so as you could tell on my account I had to purchase another 2 tickets with another airline. Pro: "Small seats flight did not depart in time due to ground crew check in counter wanted to give a wheel chair after I asked for assistance locating my terminal because I am legally blind"
Contra: "Flight UA 6270 was initially delayed due to incoming plane delayed for weather. After boarding 2 planes at IAD, we were told after 5 + hrs that the flight to JAX was cancelled. UA Customer Service Agent was slow and not well trained. Other passengers were easily and promptly placed on other flights (UA & other airlines)...we were told that the next available UA flight from IAD to JAX was more than 24 hrs wait. Eventually placed on a UA Flt to CLT at 11 PM. Upon arrival in CLT, we asked the gate Agent for assistance on a Voucher because we had to stay overnight in CLT...we were told that the IAD Agent did not designate us as eligible for a voucher and yet, people next to us flying coach were given a voucher. The Gentleman Agent at our arrival gate was trying to help us but his Madam Supervisor was arrogant and unwilling to help. In an exasperated tone, I asked both individuals if flying First Class would help us get a voucher and her arrogant answer was "do you want me to call the police?" Obviously we left for our Marriott Hotel which was a wonderful customer service experience. Plus our UA Flt from IAD to CLT placed us in Coach (is a refund coming???) We paid for 1st Class for our 12/22 flight and our 12/26 flight. After 3 hrs in a Marriott in CLT we took an AA Flt from CLT to JAX. Also, the UA communication on the status of our baggage was unclear and misleading. Plan to fly American or Delta for future travel."
Pro: "Boarding was fast and easy. Crew was kind to allow me to use an empty seat in the middle row and get more space. Managed to connect to onboard entertainment with a tablet and avoided to use the tiny screen that still exists on United's 767s."
Contra: "Food was a bit tasteless."
Pro: "This plane was smaller so I got to sit by myself so it was more comfortable for me"
Contra: "Lack of drinks/ comp snacks"
Contra: "This flight was delayed for 1.5 hours which was not nice and it was a six hour flight and only could receive pretzels without paying for food."
Pro: "Nothing at all."
Contra: "UA flights always get delayed and this time I failed to catch my connecting flight to London. I was rescheduled to the flight in the morning of the second day. And when we were heading for London half way, the pilot said some sensors stopped working and we had to come back to Dulles. To be honest, I will never take UA flights anymore, it is just TERRIBLE!"
Pro: "Aircraft remained grounded for 1h due to a door switch with malfunction."
Pro: "Very smooth and comfortable flight."
Contra: "So we arrived at the desk after a 7hr international flight ready for the final 1hr leg - only to be confronted with "flight overbooked" looking for 9 volunteers - how can you over book a 40 seat flight by 9 ???? So we had an anxious wait wondering if we'd be dumped from the flight - we weren't but it wasn't enjoyable waiting for the flight and our meeting with our grand kids."
Contra: "A la ahora de irnos hubo muchos contratiempo por el tiempo pero por el vuelo después que nos fuimos fue excelente"
Contra: "I was thoroughly disappointed when I realized that I had to pay to get any type of entertainment on the in-flight screen. That feels like zero effort on the part of the airline to make my flight enjoyable."
