Pro: "Paid in advance 45.00 a seat to reserve! Otherwise they assign at Check-in! Still ended up with a standard not premium seats in center. I chose 2 side seats online but plane must have changed. Literally could not move. My travel partner ended up spilling wine on himself primarily due to this and 1/2 size drop down trays. Call button brought no help , had to get up and go retrieve steward in back myself!"

Swiss Air will not correct the small free space capacity (both pitch and width) most assuredly. Thus, I now fully appreciate why fellow travelers embrace airplane knee protectors. "Don't leave home without them," especially on Swiss Air (emphasis added) !"

Contra: "An hour late, not Swiss fault but Captain continued to broadcast 5-10 minute delays. Just say it's going to be an hour, then we can all turn our phones back on and go to the lavatory."

Pro: "Service-first class! The hosts did their best to keep me comfortable after my operation. My TV system did not work at all and there was no sound. This was not addressed. The directions were not clear on the control machine. It did not say to keep pressing start after each activity The flight was ice cold during the entire journey. I was told that if the pilot put on a little heat the others would complain."
Contra: "Food was the worst I've had on a European flight. I ordered special food that had n0 preservatives because of my stomach ailment. I got Molly's special pre packed horrible food all through the flight filled with preservatives and prepackaged. I therefore didn't eat anything. They kept giving me kosher food on top of it . That was worse. I did not order kosher food! So on my entire flight, I ate nothing. The hostess finally found a left over but it was horrible as well. A tiny salad with plain head lettuce, not like the Lufthasa food. This continued into breakfast. Molly food was unhealthy and inedible. I ate one piece of packaged cheese for the entire journey."

Contra: "The space between rows are uncomfortably narrow (and I am a short person). It also does not help when the attendants would not want to disturb a sleeping but have no problem allowing us to eat off a tray with our forehead touching the back of the seat in front. This happened to me on the entire journey on Swiss from Miami to Zurich to Cape Town. It is almost a health hazard not being able to move and forget about trying to even use a laptop because when the person in front recline her seat, you have no room to even type (and my laptop was only a 13 inch Mac.) I am a million miler on United and this is one of the most miserable flights that I have taken. I also don't like the fact that we cannot get seat assignments until 23 hours before departure- not even for preferred travelers."

This was mainly because the cabin crew kept the temperature of the plane almost like a sauna. Sweating, opened shirt, rolled up the sleeves, impossible to get comfortable or get any sleep!! The plane just seemed to get hotter and hotter! This was on all four segments across and back! The local flights seemed to be a bit better, and while not as cool as I personally like, they were acceptable. For clarification I am a premier flyer with star alliance, primarily United, and fly close to 100,000 miles per year. To date I have received NO mileage credit for any Turkish Airline flight!"

Getting luggage in place used to be a simple and minor issue, now it occupies much of the time, energy, and attention of the cabin crew as well as the gate crew. I realize this is making money for Delta but the cost is being paid by people being hit in the head with luggage and the crew's unavailability to deal with other issues."

Contra: "I din't like the fact that Lufhtansa company uses double standards for the countries where they have their flights. From USA, San Jose, Ca, to Frankfurt, Germany everything was good (flight on 08/31/2018 - 09/01/2018). They have been very profesional, beganing wih the boarding time untill the arrival in Frankfurt. The flight to Romania was a different story. They haven't been very professional at all. The flight had a delay and nobody said a word. It was just a clerck there who didn't tell to the Lufthansa passengers for a while anything about our delay. So, finally, he said after 15-20 minutes that our fligt will be later, 20 minutes, than the scheduled time on our tickets. They seemed do not care too much about the Romanian passengers."

Contra: "Entertainment system in my row didn't work correctly. Flight delayed due to weather. On board announcements said Lufthansa would rebook passengers with connecting flights and tell us arrangements as soon as we landed. No sign of Lufthansa reps at arrival gate area and zero directions on where to go. Had to walk miles through Frankfurt airport , go through immigration and security again without any direction one where to find Lufthansa and when finally found Lufthansa service counter it was understaffed with long lines and confusion. By time we learned rebooking, we almost missed rebooked connections. So much for German organizing and efficiency."

Pro: "The plane was parked away from the gate. We boarded the service bus to get there 20 minutes before departure time. But it took more than 20 minutes while mid way waiting for clearance to leave for the plane. The service bus did not turn on the AC while we waited even though we complained. We were suffocating. There was no entertainment on the plane."

The flight attendants did not compensate for our inconvenience and were not very friendly or available in general. The incoming flight had been delayed by hours, with boarding and deplaning and a very bad attitude."

Contra: "They only had two meal options and the ran out of the vegetarian option. There were many people on the flight that didn't get a meal or had to take the meat option when they would have preferred the pasta."
Contra: "The AC was set to way too high temperature. Very uncomfortable. Sweaty and smelly Lufthansa style. I asked to adjust the temperature - the flight attendant said she would . Maybe they fixed it next flight. The temperature is set up by sections. All othe sections were ok except the one with the row 79 in it."

Contra: "The noise of the bathroom doors. Every time that one of the 120 passengers use one bathroom close to my seat I wake up suddenly, because is very hard the impact to close the door and at 2 am was terrible."

Thumbs up for KLM crew, planes and Schiphol Airport, though short on staff and a little late everything went smooth, including the flight.

Pro: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Contra: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

Contra: "The leg room on the long flight was less than I would have wished and it was particularly bad when the person in front put their seat back. this was a day time flight and it would have been good to have a bit more room to use a laptop."
Contra: "Our flight was canceled from Amsterdam to Bordeaux and did not receive any direction and had to find alternate flights for ourselves with the personal expense of using our own cell phones. Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy!"
