Plus the multiple gate changes by PHL which are to be expected. Just a regular PHL departure,..."

Contra: "I don’t understand how a brief meaning less than 30 minutes thunderstorm can cause a five hour delay. Every time I take the route from DCA to STL American is always really late"

Contra: "We left two hours after scheduled departure bc 1) the plane was late from prior flight and had to be cleaned, 2) engine check delayed the flight, 3) strong winds forced the airport (JFK) to use only one runway for departures and so on top of our plane delays we were delayed an extra half hour bc of airplane traffic. No entertainment onboard, meaning no screen on back of seat in front for movies, tv shows, etc. Food options were poor, especially breakfast (too much sugar content in all contents of “continental breakfast” pack."
Pro: "There was an excellent selection of movies to choose from. The seats were pretty nice and clean and modern. A power outlet at every seat, and not just USB."
Contra: "Flight was delayed due to paperwork and some people were racing to their connecting flights. Lots of turbulence. The seats seemed comfortable at first, but actually hurt my tailbone pretty quickly, while the 17 hour flight we took next did not. Tray tables are the folding kind and a bit awkward. We were in the last row by the bathrooms and our seats didn't recline at all. You had to pay for any kind of snacks other than a little bag of pretzels and a package of cookies. We were in one of the last two boarding sections, and the woman letting us on the plane tried to make us check out carry-on luggage, stating that the overhead bins were full. Well, we didn't want to be without our bags for the next 24 hours, so we argued and she let us "try" to bring them on. There was PLENTY of room back there! It's just the standard line they feed, apparently, so beware if you're sitting in the back of the plane!"

Contra: "Sadly, I am a big guy (2XL to 3XL). Halfway through the flight, my left thigh was throbbing from the pressure. I cannot afford first class travel so this will presumably be an issue until I drop the weight."

Contra: "Briish Airways does not fly to JFK from Edinburgh. I paid for a flight that apparently did not exist. I had to purchase another flight from another airline on top of the flight that I booked with Kayak. I was supposed to fly to my original airport, but I had to fly to a tiny little airport upstate and pay for a bus to get me back to NYC. I doubt I'll see any of that money I lost in the initial transaction..."

Contra: "Food choices left something to be desired but still good. I was in the middle seat, which nobody likes but other than that, it worked out."

That would eliminate all the jostling of passengers already seated in the front, as well as the clogging of aisles as passengers trying to load their bags into overhead bins or under seats bar the way for passengers with seats behind the people blocking the aisles. It would also make it easier for flight attendants to get to passengers who need assistance. Seats are too narrow for the size of most American passengers. The people next to me on both my flights took up part of my space and pressed against me because their upper bodies were too large to fit in their seat space. Paying to check a bag on a domestic flight is very irritating."

Pro: "I love how each seat had a private entertainment center, complete with a remote for a selection of games. I also love being fed a real meal while in flight and not having to pay extra for it. The service is fantastic as well!"
Contra: "I'm 6ft 2in with long legs, so I do not enjoy it when the seat in front of me remains in the reclining position for the entire flight. The head rest is, also, low. Comes down to my shoulders and does very little for my head. Other than that, which the airline cannot help, I really enjoyed flying on Avianca!"

Your luggage was about to get on the belt then they tell you to pay $100 because it was over weight. Ask for a supervisor. Total on her employees side 100% even if she is in the wrong and instructs me to take stuff out of the bag or pay $100. While all this is going on I have my boarding pass and luggage tag in my hands already printed. NOW AMERICAN AIRLINES TELL ME IF THE YOUR EMPLOYEE WAS SLEEPING WHEN SHE PRINTED THE LUGGAGE TAG WHEN THE LUGGAGE WAS ON THE WEIGHT MACHINE. THE MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN SHOW ANY CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WORDS TO USE FOR THIS AIRLINES. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE I WAS A MEMBER FOR YEARS. THIS IS BEYOND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE."
