Contra: "Cabin staff were blatantly prejudice, would not assist anyone who wasn't Turkish or of their color. I had an injury and surgery to my right foot, and as a result was using a walking can for m9bility. One my return flight to UK one cabin crew member decided in their wisdom to place said cane in the overhead bin. I advised her, I didn't like nor think this to be a good idea. Things move when taking off and my fair was if one wasn't aware the cane was there it may fall and injure someone. She insisted, and put the can into the overhead bin, and surprise, one of her fellow cabin members opened this b8n, and down came the cane on a passenger's head. For her injury, they offered her water and proceeded to hand the cane back to me. On flight TK 603 or TK 1983 we were assigned seats in economy row 20 A and b, well my son was seated in 20B, almost sliced his palm on the armrest, because the cover that should have been there wasn't, thus exposing jagged metal. I had to insist that we be moved and they should NEVER allow the cabin be loaded with such dangers visibly exposed. They didn't seem to show much concern, since the flight was full of "blacks"...! On our maiden flight on this airline, we had a 15+ hour layover. Couldn't get assistance from airport staff on simple questions such as where could one rest for the 15 hours, airport staff are busy riding around on automated wheel chairs, and when we asked them to assist an elderly lady who obviously could not walk the distance to her boarding gate in Istanbul, we were met with glares, or look of "they don't know English" or simply being miss directed, whilst my son carried this ladies heavy bag, including his own, and I on my walking stick, until we located the infraction desk, where a true gentleman, by the name of Mahmet came to our rescue, or more importantly took over the matter and assisted this lovely lady who was heading back to new york, to get her water for her medication, a chair to sit on until a wheelchair was brought to her. Honestly, in the many years that I've traveled, I've never seen or encountered a group of unprofessional, disrespectful and just downright prejudiced to visitors to their country! You couldn't pay me enough to visit Turkey or ever fly Turkish Airlines again in my life. So, so disappointed and disgusted by the whole experience it begs the question, how was this airline voted the 2nd best airline in Europe? You must have a very low ranking requirement, or my expectations are just too high for this airline, airport and the people I encountered."

Contra: "The airline apparently switched us to an earlier flight however we had received NOT A SINGLE email telling us that our flight had been moved. We had continued to receive emails for our original flight which still existed. Have no idea why they would move us in the first place and not tell us. We had to go through the hassle of getting switched back to our earlier flight which took an additional hour of dealing with people. This mimics our experience flying from Dalaman to Istanbul when our flight was canceled and we received no notification. They told us it was too early to receive a notification (we were there 12 hours in advance). However, had we arrived within the suggested window and found out it was canceled we never would have been able to reschedule to a connecting flight that still got us to Madrid in time.When checking our bags, the clerk tried to tell us that a backpack and small purse were too big to count as personal items even though they had been fine on ALL of our previous flights. I pointed out that individuals in other lines had larger backpacks that were being counted and he finally acquiesced but with a lot of attitude. The plane was then an hour late. The sign for boarding continued to tell us it was on time up until 45 minutes AFTER we were supposed to have boarded when it finally updated and said 'delayed'. The crew stood around laughing and providing zero updates as we all worried about whether or not we would make our connecting flights. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL"

No information was given for the delay and the plane was boarded at time of departure. This careless and unbothered attitude resulted in a missed connecting flight for my partner and I. We were completely unassisted by crew on the plane and ended up having to wait 24hours for our next flight home. Absolutely disgusted by the service provided from Cluj to Munich. I would seriously consider another airline before booking again with Lufthansa for this route."

The couple in front of us actually took a wet wipe and wiped down there area and ceiling. Also the boarding process was a mess we actually were taken by bus to the aircraft that was at the freight depot and had to climb stairs to get on the 747. I’m not sure how they handle the passengers with mobility issues. First time flying with a European airline and I was told the service was better not on this flight."

In contrast, on a previous International flight via a US based carrier...there too was lots of cabin crew attitude...but not the pleasant type."

I liked that they asked the person in front of me to put his seat up during the meal time. That helped me eat more comfortably. Entertainment options were extensive."

We had to show our passports 3 different times between check in and boarding. People had put their passports away, then had to get them out again at the gate. That slowed everything down to a crawl. Our party was not accommodated when we asked for seats together. My husband and I were separated and we were separated from our kids. The ground crew did not seem to care. Take off was delayed, but the captain never told us why. The guy in front of me reclined his seat the whole time. I felt like a sardine in a can. So uncomfortable!"

Pro: "It was a good flight, no turbulence."
Contra: "The flight was delayed several times by 15 minutes. Not sure why they could not tell us how long the flight would be delayed all at once. They track the flight and know when it will land, don’t they?"
Pro: "They actually checked sizes of some “carryons.” Of course, it’s a cash cow for the carrier. The checkers should get 20% of the fee collected for checking oversized carryons at the gate."
Contra: "There are faster, more efficient ways to load and unload passengers."
Contra: "I had very little time to make my connection in Newark. Other airports/airlines have given me a short connection pass which has allowed passengers to make their connection with less stress. The security line inNewsrk was ridiculous. I spoke to a TSA agent who couldn’t have cared less if I missed my flight and a United representative who told me to “just try.” In the end, I had to ask other passengers if I could go ahead of them. While I made my flight with a few minutes to spare, the process could have been much easier and the United Rep could have done more. He could have just called the gate at the very least to let them know I was coming. Apathy is not an indication of good customer service."
Pro: "Great flight experience thank you United."
Pro: "Having a direct flight across the country was a good thing. That was about the only positive, well that & we did land safely."
Contra: "Ticket agent said I could take my bag on the plane. Gate agent told me my bag not I were going on the plane unless I paid $50 to put the bag below if I wanted to get in the plane. Very matter of fact & rude. I was just about the last person they let board so there really wasn't a chance to discuss with them. No WiFi on a cross country plane, lame. No access to the headrest video screen w/o paying for it, lame. Snotty unconcerned flight attendants as well. Overall one of the worst flights I've had in memory. I would pay more next time to fly another airline."
Pro: "Too crowded and not much space"
Pro: "I had no problems the gate agent was very nice and I did get the basic economy which that only did I have to pay for my bags but I also got the last seat in the back in the corner which is OK I guess I’ll pay more attention to the fair I still probably saved a little money but I don’t know that I save that much I think that sometimes the boarding agent needs to pay attention to the carry-on luggage for sure bring a lot carry-on luggage which doesn’t allow for others to have carry-on luggage who were in the later groups and then they get penalized with their bags being checked as there’s no more room and they’re not basic economy but other than that I like taking United they have nonstop service between Orlando in Houston and it’s been a wonderful experience most of the time and I think the airlines do a pretty good job considering the traveling public themselves to be very challenging at times professionalism and courtesy works both ways and unfortunately people buy tickets and think that it’s a one-way street. they then run to the media who loves to make it about the big guy versus the little guy anyway good job united and I will continue to fly you when you’re the most appropriate carrier to get me to where I want to be."
Contra: "Nothing I just need to pay more attention to my ticket purchase I didn’t realize it was a basic economy until after I bought it which meant I had to pay for my bags which added $50 to my fair which wasn’t that big a deal but then I got a seat all the way the back in the corner which really wasn’t that bad either but if I went to Carrynon a bag I was allowed to do so"
Pro: "United preferred has great leg room. Entertainment is through app on your own device which worked perfectly."
Contra: "Snack and drink portion was a bit small. Took a very long time to get my bags and stroller after the flight. Didn't end up getting out of the airport until 2.5 hours after landing."
Pro: "Got their early."
Contra: "Took an extra 20 minutes to get our luggage as it came after everyone else's, of course."
Pro: "Got in my seat and took off right on time. Courteous welcoming staff as we boarded and deplaned."
Contra: "The servers serving drinks and snacks, never smiled never said your welcome...maybe having a bad day? Sucks we have to pay to watch anything on tv. We pay enough at least let's us have two hours of entertainment."
Pro: "Not much, the staff was ok."
Contra: "Boarding passes were a nightmare. Airline claimed we bought the basic ticket which doesn't allow you a seat choice, or boarding passes without a checked bag and there was no mention of this basic ticket upon the purchase. Then after you take off they explain you need the United app to watch their entertainment, but you can't download it without purchasing a $24. WiFi. They charge higher prices but act like a discount airline. My last trip with them."
Pro: "I got to my destination safely."
Contra: "They gave us free tv to watch but my headphones didn't work in the jack. Even the pair they gave me didn't work. Also my flight was almost an hour late."
Pro: "Well, at least they gave me a blanket to sleep with."
Contra: "You still have to pay to use tv, movies, and internet. The flight attendants did not give me any drink or snacks. They did not say goodbye or wish me a good time back home. Flying in the plane itself was awful, as it continuously shook even when weather was alright. The pilot seemed rude. No warnings from the pilot when we were going through bad weather - just a surprise "HANG ON" as the plane would shake in a frenzy. The chairs were also incredibly uncomfortable and very hard to relax on. I couldnt even sleep well, and it was an overnight trip. Seriously felt so disrespected by the crew and the company, and this experience was the same with all 4 flights I took (to portland and back). I will never again choose United."
Pro: "Great price, speedy flight"
Contra: "Don't remember having to be in lines for so long for reserved seats - awful technical delay (1.5 hrs)"
Pro: "It is really bad the seat to small for average person not leg room at all it is a flying school bus."
Pro: "I did not like the plane ride. There were way to many things to comment on. Most importantly everyone of my.flights was delayed."
Pro: "The seats were uncomfortable. The staff was cold. The food was horrible, I wasn't even able to eat some of it. The chicken was full of bones and grissle. The rest just tasted bad. Most of their planes did not have screens in the back of the seats. Instead they wanted you to watch on your personal device via their app which worked sub par. The baggage on the return flight was delayed and I almost missed my next flight even though I had a 2 hour 40 min layover. Thankfully that flight was delayed 1 hour and a half. Next time I will stick with airlines I know better. Delta, Emirates, and Qatar all offer superior service and upscale aircraft. The 2k spent was not worth what I received."
Pro: "-Complimentary Snack and beverage -Can pick your seats when booking -Changing Tables in restrooms -Entertainment options -Early boarding for families with small children"
Contra: "-Free Soda but charged for water -Had confirmed seats but then our party with 2 toddlers got split up -Semi convenient( rather small could hardly fit a 1 year old) changing table but then flight attendants threw a fit when a stinky diaper was changed in there. -Had to have special programs on device to even play anything, thought I had everything on for return flight to watch movies but nope still needed something extra Wifi only works for United App and Website -Waiting in the shorter line to preboard with our 2 toddlers only to be cut off by a Global Travel Program(?) family with 15+ people"
Pro: "The crew were very kind and attentive without being overbearing. They were helpful."
Contra: "I did not like how my boarding pass for a ticket I had paid for long in advance had a 'see us' note about my seating. The counter attendent waltzed in after boarding had already started and treated the issue like it was a joke. I ended up seated in between two hot messes of people which made the flight seriously uncomfortable, there were no other options supposedly for me. There weren't even options for me to pay the outrageous pick a seat option when I was doing my preflight check in 24 hours in advance."
Pro: "Loved the movies"
Contra: "The flight was delayed two hours because of the arrival of the plane"
Pro: "Clean Aircraft. Fantastic Gate Agent."
Contra: "Flight boarded, no auxiliary power unit so no A/C in plane and Pilot unable to start aircraft engines. Stuck in aircraft away from gate for 30 min with no A/C. Finally moved to gate to wait for repairs and allowed to disembark. Flight 2 hours late to Orlando. Direct TV no audio in seat 11F entire flight and I WAS TRYING TO WATCH THE WORLD SERIES!"
Pro: "I liked 2 of the 10 people I asked for help getting my 78 year old mother to our gate and making the flight"
Contra: "I felt it Ridiculous that I had to get checked luggage, go out of secure zone and come back through. There was NO interest in helping us make our connection; had one person actually say, "I am sorry, it is United, they could care less". No one was helpful, no one cared, and the experience was horrible"

Contra: "Crew was not particularly friendly. One man was brusque when I asked for water to fill my small bottle. Rare since most crew members I've experienced have been very pleasant. Snacks were pretty paltry. Ned to serve some biscotti."
Pro: "That I finally made it to Orlando"
Contra: "Flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours... Took forever to get on plane once on plane people were in wrong seats so I had to keep getting up so they could figure out who was in the wrong seat. Just a mess. Even crew seemed annoyed. Finally got to Orlando at 3am suppose to be there at midnight."
Pro: "The crew was pleasant"
Contra: "Checking in. We did it electronically When we went to the counter to give our bags extra staff were talking with each other about trying out to be a stripper. No hello. No smile. Just looked at our info and took our checked bags. We pay more for tickets and bags and are getting less service. It is time to bring back customer service"
Pro: "i like that the pilot got us there on time, after a 30 minute delay. over a missing catering truck. on a flight this short, i could understand if you could just leaving without it. maybe offer free wifi as a comsolation. but i just wanna arrive on time."
Contra: "the whole delay over a catering truck. who cares if i cant get a coke or a cookie? just skip it. i get that you as a company, want the chance to upsell. but if its cutting into my time, im not gonna patronize you in the future. luckily the pilot made up the time in the air. but if i missed my shuttle over your mistake, id be more upset."
Pro: "Boarding was fast, enough overhead compartment room, loved the wifi and free inflight entertainment"
Contra: "I didn't like the crying babies on board or the little girl that kept kicking my seat , otherwise it was a great flight."

Contra: "The flight was delayed almost 2 hours. Then the guy on the front desk was really rude .. Maybe because I'm Latino? I mean he was super friendly with a white guy and a African American girl .. But with me .. Rudeness and bad service .. I said "hello , how are you?".. He didn't answer .. I told him when I did my checkin my boarding pass had "See agent" in the seating section .. He just took the ticket and gave me the last sit available on the plain even though I arrived almost 3 hours before the original departing hour .. I don't know .. It might be the only available sit or it was just a racist thing .. Who knows .. Really disappointed with United. I'll go back with Ameican Airlines."
