Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."

I thought that the brew reacted and handled this emergency in a calm, professional and dignified manner. Very little information was conveyed to the passengers aside from what was necessary. The flight was diverted from Munich to Vienna, the affected individual was evacuated and the flight was back in the air shortly thereafter. Contra: "I wished to change to an earlier flight with plenty of seats available. the Lufthansa ticket agent stated the only way, as I had booked a "light" fare, was to pay a full-price one-way economy ticket--plus luggage--for about 380 euros with no credit for my current ticket. After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good."

Felt like I was being scolded. True, I'm trying to be frugal and avoid a big investment in shock-proof luggage and/or checked baggage fees, but as long as it fits under my seat, what's the big deal? I'm sure I easily weigh at least 70 pounds less than the person sitting next to me, so the extra 4 kg in a backpack that I (female) can personally carry shouldn't be an issue. Then, there's no jetway. You leave the gate to board a bus that takes you to a plane on the tarmac where you must climb a rather large flight of metal stairs. Reverse direction, It takes quite some time and a few crew members to assist those with disabilities to deplane. All the time the rest of the passengers are waiting in the bus to get to their connections. Would only ever fly this airline again if it was the only option to get where I want to go."
Pro: "The employees were very helpful and friendly. Food was not worse than what one can expect of an airline (about as “good” as a US airline’s, which is not a high standard to beat). The plane seemed recent and clean."
Contra: "The major problem was the lack of detail on their luggage policy. I am sure they can show the text clearly warning me about the fees for bringing a piece of luggage per person, but I missed it. Therefore, they charged me $35 per person for their registered bag. That’s probably how they “beat” their competitors’ prices. If you include the fees in your calculation, this might still be a good option, but make sure that you read the fine print, or be prepared to pay as “extra” what many airlines offer as basic."

At the airport we were told to go the Aegean desk. 5. At the Aegean desk we were told we had to pay for the suitcase again, had to cross the airport to do that. 6. Finally found that desk, not called "Aegean" like we were told, but "GlobeGround" 7. Plane was delayed. 8. At the a Athens airport we were told Taron shouldn't have charged us. What's going on here?"

Contra: "I am very disappointed in the way my ticket was checked when I was heading to Bucharest from Athens. I had everything ready my boarding pass my passport and my visa. Then the woman who was checking the tickets before we entered looked 2 seconds on my passport and said we have a problem we need to call the immigration. She started calling people and called her coworker, she didn't tell me what was going on! She didn't explain what was the problem, I asked her a couple of times what is the problem she just said we need to call the immigration. I asked her one final time tell me the problem! Then she finally told me, but it turned out obviously she didnt read my visa correctly, there was nothing wrong with my visa or my ticket, the problem was she misread my visa! Then she said oh I didn't see that sorry. This took approximately 10 minutes. Ok she apologized but it didn't sound sensere or honest. I felt embarrassed and humiliated, specially when she kept saying we need to call the immigration like I am some kind of a criminal. I was NOt treated the way customers should be treated. She did not have to be rude in the first place, and she should have apologized in a decent manner wihout any attitude. It would be great if you tell your employees to treat everyone with the same respect, and that they shouldn't descrinate against any nationality. Contra: "we were charged twice for the exact same flights, date and seats. My husband made the same reservations as I had for both of us three weeks later than my reservation was made. When this was discovered by us I called and was told by two agents that I couldn't get any money back. What a rip off."

Contra: "I purchased my ticket in advance and upon checkin was never informed that I was standby. I dont know why the seats were oversold. Ultimately, I did get a seat but the confusion and communication regarding the standby was stressful"

Contra: "I was charged $90 for something which I was unaware of. I assume it was baggage but they did not tell me when I checked in. I only found out once I was home and reviewing my credit card statement. At the time of check in I was surprised they did not charge for bags but I was not going say anything at the time."

The contact number that O’Hare had was a disconnected Verizon number, which was the same number listed on their website. I had to call the international number where I was told I was rebooked on United with 2 layovers instead of one. I also lost my business class upgrade and was told there was nothing they could do about it."
Pro: "From start to finish, Sevdije was in great hands. She had to be in a wheelchair, and there were three connecting flights in countries where she doesn't speak the language. It could have been so complicated, and everyone made it SO EASY. She was all smiles when she arrived in Boston. THANK YOU!!!!!!"
Pro: "The Austrian Airlines crew was great, very courteous, very professional and friendly. The food service was also excellent."
Contra: "My complaints go to something not directly linked to the flight crew. 1. When boarding, I like to see when passengers are called in groups relating to distant seats in the plane such that they do not step over each other during luggage placement. That is more comfortable than let the crowd enter randomly. 2. I notice people enter the cabin with 2, even 3 pieces of luggage. Even though each one has proper dimensions, they overload the overhead compartments and it is hard for everybody to place his/her belongings in a suitable way. 3. The rows in the airplane seems to have gotten closer ti each other. It is not the airlines fault, except perhaps when choosing whose airplanes to buy...but again, there are only two major contenders in that segment. For overseas flights, it is pretty uncomfy. 4. Lastly, unboarding the plane could also be performed (enforced by the crew) to be in a more civil fashion rather than haveing5 a stampedo - again calling separate grouos of rows in the name of fairness, or simply vacating it row by row from the front to back."

Contra: "I wanted to buy an checked-in luggage, but Austrian site did not worked properly, repeatedly gave an error message. I ended up buying it at the counter desk, in the airport, at a much higher price."

Contra: "All flight attendants were great except for one tall with very short blonde hair. What a poor attitude! She really ruined my trip. There was not an exchange with her that was friendly and agreeable. When serving drinks a second time, she asked me what would I like to drink and I answered: What do you have? I had not asked the first time drinks were served since I knew I wanted orange juice. he second time, and not wanted to drink the same, I asked: what do you have? and her answer was: "Same as before". I had to let her know I had not asked before and then she proceeded to tell me the different drinks and finally added: My colleague will take care of you. She did not want to serve me. The first incident went I tried to use the bathroom in the back of the plane, she would tell people: "don"t use that one, I need that bathroom for......." ( not sure for what but her tone was so rude,that people walked to the other bathroom embarrassed). All I can say is that everything else was great, including the friendliness of all other crew, but that one ruined the experience. A third time I got up to walk to the bathroom and the seatbelt sign was on, but so it had been for a long time. She prompted me to go back to my seat. All others seem to do their job without been rude, Not sure why this one couldn't. Job stress? Not the passenger's problem. Besides that and the poor movie choices, everything else was great. I think the flight was delayed but to that point everything was going so smooth, I didn't even notice. I will fly Austrian again, and would love to visit Vienna. Please advise how to add the miles of my trip to my account. I booked in Kayak, left to Ohio from Miami running from hurricane Irma, my return from Ohio to Miami was cancelled and I had to embark on that long plan10 day trip without even returning home to Miami to pack. I totally forgot about putting the miles on my account on either ticket counter."

It was offensive to be forced to pay to select our seats in advance on a major international airline in the first place, and then to not have those honored just made it worse."

I check it on the original receipt I received by e-mail, there is ECONOMY CLASS and 1st baggage free of charge, another for a fee. So I do not understand and for two tickets I have paid 2 x 30 €."

Contra: "As I was flying from London Heathrow back to Vienna, I had a carry-on that was allowed on my flight with Austrian from Vienna to London. My carry-on weighed 8 kg, like is required by the rules. While boarding my flight, the woman at the counter told me my bag had to be checked because there were too many carry-ons on the flight. I asked her that I keep my bag because I had medication in there, and she didn't listen to me at all. She just kept repeating that i have to check my bag, and then took my bag from me and gave it to the baggage crew there. I didn't want to make a huge scene because the flight is only 2 hours and I hoped i Could deal without my medication during that time, but I found it incredibly, incredibly rude and awful to not listen to a passenger."

Pro: "Typically, flying coach is a pretty unpleasant experience. You feel like the airline has shrunk the seats to as small as possible, food is scarce and bad, entertainment choices are limited, and you have to pay for headphones. My recent experience with Austrian Air was just the opposite. Seats were comfortable, leg room was good, entertainment options were plentiful and free, the food was actually surprisingly good for airplane food, and the flight attendants were extremely nice and responsive. As an added bonus - red and white wine were free on the flight and both were actually quite delicious! Finally, our flight was smooth and on time. I wil go out of my way to book my next international flight on Austrian Air - it was a clearly superior experience than flying coach on nearly any other airline."

Contra: "one of our seats did not work properly (3D) and the crew constantly had to manually adjust the seat. It never would go into a full reclining position. Food was good but they did not serve everything that was listed on the menu. My wife ordered the pancakes with berries for breakfast and they said they did not have any. After they told us they did not have this item, another passenger from Russia sitting in 3A started complaining and they miraculously found the pancakes for this passenger. this leaves a bad impression about the service and not what you expect when you buy a business class ticket."

I said I was never given the option to get a ticket with/without a bag for free and they basically told me I was lying. I didn't feel like arguing and paid for the bag. Kayak didn't mention or made me aware of my "kind" of ticket. Either Kayak makes consumers aware of this or LOT shouldn't be posting their flights on Kayak. 2. I flew Eurolot, "A partner of LOT" and not LOT. It should also be CLEAR what it is one is flying."
