I cancelled the flight with Lufthansa who said I must call Kayak who gave me another number to call and that number then sent an email that said there was a $350 rebooking fee for each ticket, IF they decided I was eligible for rebooking. Yes, we got a great rate, but looks like wasted $ now. I will book directly with the airline in the future to ensure the ability to rebook."

Contra: "One of the worst experience I’ve had, if not the worst. Lack of communication between flight attendants at gate was the main reason for missing our flight, after 2 delays from the previous flight. When we got to the gate they closed it at that moment, earlier than it should have. A Mr. Fenney, person in charge at the gate, didn’t help much. Just went through the motion and as slow as possible trying to help us. It seemed he just wanted to pretend he was helping us. Worse was his attitude when telling is the gate has already closed, didn’t do anything to help us, nothing at all. We had to literally get information out of him. We then went to customer service were the same thing happened, a lack of care that we missed our flight due to things out of our control. Even to the point where the agent told us “be sure to be there on time this time”, like if it was our fault we missed it (we told her the details of our situation). Till this point they don’t seem to care. They left about 15 people, that i know of, hanging. If they had better comunication between gates and waited a miserably 5 more minutes (although they closed the gate earlier then they should have) everyone would have made it. Throughout the whole process we noticed that american airlines employees did not care that many on that first flight had connection flights. They were just going through the motion, slowly while all of us were a bit desperate knowing that the layover time was going to be very close."

I saw a lot of food being thrown away. Mine included. If you are trying to force people to buy food before they board, you have succeeded. TV displays and remote were very poor compared to your competitors."

There was nowhere in the reservation that asked about this. The plane was about 80 degrees for the entire 9 hrs. My clothing was soaked with sweat. The legroom was less than on the domestic flight (AA carrier) which led my son to bother the person in the seat in front of us more. There was a male flight attendant that kept coming by to tell my son to get in his seat, which was not helpful. He is only 3."

Contra: "No personality of flight attendants-never tried to engage. Hardest, most uncomfortable seats I've experienced and I am a frequent flyer"
Pro: "It was somewhat brief, compared to the 9.5 hour flight just before it."
Contra: "Transferring between my flight from Madrid to my flight to Vancouver in the Dallas airport was an incredible pain. Sure, we had to go through customs, that's expected. Sure, wait for the luggage so you can take it through, right? We did. For 45 minutes. Then the announcement arrives: international destinations don't have to carry checked luggage through customs. That's why our bags never showed up. Now we have 45 minutes to get to our plane. We made it through customs relatively quickly, meander through the halls that guides are telling us to go through in order to get to our next flight... And then we arrive at the airport entrance, just outside of security. Thankfully, after alerting a TSA agent to our situation, we're not quite brushed off, but pointed toward another security checkpoint that might have a shorter line. We get back through security, and another TSA agent (who seems unsure we'll even make our flight) gives us directions to take a train to our gate on the other side of the airport. We sprinted. And we just barely made it. American Airlines was fine, Dallas airport and transfer protocols for international arrivals/departures were tedious, inefficient, and frustrating."
Contra: "Did not follow up on things they said they would come back for. For multiple requests. Also, didn't respond to the call light and had to turn it off and on a few times to have someone respond."
Contra: "Food, choice of entertainment"
Pro: "Direct airline"
Contra: "Delay, as usual on this rout because the airplane is too old and always have michanical problems From the inside it looks too old"
Contra: "Our upgraded seats were not available, will seek refund. My luggage was list and I had to buy new clothes."
Pro: "Flight was delayed 4 times, but communication about this was good so no one was kept wondering. Overall, the crew were attentive with smiles...sometimes that makes all the difference in the world. Movie selection was good for a long flight."
Pro: "Quick boarding"
Contra: "Unable to upgrade seats easily, upgraded seats given freely to passengers who did not pay for upgrade. Passengers who paid for upgrade were not given a choice of the available seats. Other passengers just moved to which ever seats they wanted. Like my upgrade money back!! Other than that, pretty good."
Pro: "The service was great and there was plenty of leg room!"
Contra: "Old 747-400. The seats needed replacing. My seat had a hole in the padding and a wire bar to sit on for many hours."
Pro: "Normal flight."
Contra: "These long haul flights are getting more and more cramped."

Pro: "I felt safe add respected. They serve drinks and small snacks, no meals going to Hawaii, plan ahead."
Contra: "The airport at Phoenix had little seating. I was funny in the floor in case someone needed a seat. Otherwise, everything was good."
Pro: "The crew was amiable. The plane was crowded but clean."
Contra: "The crew was rude, we took off over an hour late, there was no food for sale on board"
Contra: "You overbooked your capacity and gave me an option to fly to LAX and find my ride home. Unbelievable."
Pro: "The crew was so friendly and helpful and nice. Love the whole online entertainment thing that AA does now."
Contra: "There was an awful flight delay and the reschduling options sucked at first. Once that got sorted to my liking, however, everything else was perfect"
Contra: "The jerks left early despite the fact that security and baggage were backed up. We ran to our gate and barely missed the flight. Jerks! Who leaves early when so many passengers are missing?!"
Contra: "3 hr delay and had to change gates"

Contra: "Our layover was originally supposed to be an hour and a half in Phoenix. As we were boarding the plane from Austin to Phoenix, we got a notification that our layover had been delayed an additional 5 hours due to construction at SFO. I’d have appreciated more of a heads up than as I’m boarding."

Contra: "First plane broken, second plane broken, overall 4 hours late, 2 hours of that sitting in a hot plane"

I’m not asking for hot bread like other airlines do, but at least serve it at room temperature instead of super frozen. Same for the butter. The continental breakfast had nothing continental about it"

Contra: "DIdnt understand why a seat as not assigned. A few people had the same issue and the gate agent suggested we may not get seats. Very stressful given he need to make an international connection. Gate service was not available early enough."
Pro: "Getting home EVENTUALLY"
Contra: "10 minutes after leaving Austin the pilot tellsnus Houston air traffic control is grounding all westbound flights due to a storm in Dallas that's causing too much congestion. So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."
Contra: "westjet delayed my flight once again, so I was stuck in the LAX airport for 5 hours"
Contra: "Wanted more food. Haha!!"

Pro: "Smooth ride, easy security"
Pro: "The boarding process was easy and the crew was great."
Contra: "Other passengers were annoying. One guy was listening to a baseball game on his phone at full volume on the plane during boarding. Another kept hitting the back of my seat playing a game on the entertainment system. And a flight attendant let a guy stay on his phone, while we taxied for takeoff, having the douchiest conversation in history."
Pro: "Friendly flight attendant and arrival earlier than expected"
Contra: "There was nothing not to like. We took off on time, had no turbulence, friendly service and landed early."
Pro: "Flight was on time. Attendants were nice."
Contra: "For the 100th time, you seats are too dang small."

Pro: "I was flying with 2 children on my own and had an issue booking seats together, the gate agents worked to find a solution when we arrived and we were all seated together. Thank you so much for keeping us all together, as my one child has aspbergers and the other is only 8 and we are not frequent flyers. I highly recommend your airline to everyone I meet. Everything met or exceeded our needs. Thank you so very much."

Contra: "Apparently my seat change did not go through because I was still stuck in the last row near the bathrooms. I must say, the fecal aroma really complemented the on set nausea that was triggered by the turbulence. Every time I thought I was gona drift off to sleep I was rudely awakened by the constant "thwacking" of the bathroom doors. The family next to me was nice enough but they did have a toddler who was very loud and unhappy and the tantrums followed. I have been a server for 14 years and generally can brush annoyances off like this but this was by far the worst flight I have been on."
Contra: "Headphones should be provided in flights"
