Contra: "It seems like American Airlines has lived up to its reputation. More seats in a plane and less comfort. On top of that, the entertainment system has not been upgraded since the 70's. TV monitors in the middle and everyone has to watch the same thing. Of course, the sound system did not work for one entire side of the plane so I could only watch the movie and not hear it. If you are not going to have individual monitors for each seat, allow your passengers to what from their mobil devises like almost all other airlines are doing."

Contra: "Mixed feelings about the entertainment app, I was pleased that something was available at all, however had the person sitting next to me not mentioned I needed an app to watch the in flight entertainment moments before it would have been too late to use the internet to download it, I would not have been able to use it, unless paying for a limited time package from AA to use the internet to download the app. A better job of advertising of the gogo app is needed more than the booklet in the seat pocket. Also I was only able to watch one movie, after that the system kicked me out saying high usage was making it not work for me. The gate changed a couple of times which had me trawling up and down the H and K concourses, could have done without that after the 9 hour journey I had already taken."

Pro: "I was in Business class and had some room to spread out."
Contra: "Flight was delayed by almost three hours. Crew provided NO service, but it was a late flight."

Pro: "I am happy to have made it to my final destination."
Contra: "This was a disappointing experience to say the very least. The boarding process in Quito was chaotic to say the least. The AA staff did not make an effort to maintain any kind of order. My husband and I are both enrolled in the AA frequent flyer program and had at least 6 people cut in front of us while on-line. When we finally approached the AA representative, Dayana Gómez, She was rude and not helpful. Our seats on the UIO-Dallas flight did not even recline. We sat completely upright for the duration of the 6 hour overnight night flight into Dallas."

Contra: "American refused to board me becouse LAN did not send the reservation to AA system. Flight was full and AA did not even talk with me about what to do. They just unloaded my bag allready checked to MIA.. After two hours standing at LAN counter they changed my flight to Lima and than to Miami. I came to Miami 12 hours late, very disappointed by this service. According to AA my ticket was never confirmed by the airline !! How can you sell it to customer ??"

Contra: "Overbooked Long lines Lost bag for my son Rude agents Absude EU 33 charge to book a seat. Bad website. Not a decent customer service. End this airline"

Contra: "Always seems to have a delay connecting through DFW, caused me an extra day of parking fee for coming back late."

Pro: "The guy at the check in counter was awesome, even though his English wasn't great. He upgraded me to the exit row seats since my legs are long; usually you need to pay for this. The seats were huge and comfortable, though the arm rests didn't move, so you could stretch out (the flight wasn't that full)."
Contra: "One flight attendant was basically rude to everyone. She was so comically unfriendly that people on the plane were actually mocking her (for good reason). She refused to explain to us how the emergent slide worked. We asked because the visual instructions on the door were different from those in the seat back pamphlet. In fact, I still don't know which directions are the correct ones (they were contradictory)."

Pro: "Again the wheel chair attendant was helpful, patient and considering we were not feeling well, assisted us at customs. We are seasoned travelers and this is not usually how our travels usually go. We appreciated the wheelchair services, the flight attendants."

Pro: "Easy boarding, nice & quiet customers & crew & darkness made it easy to sleep a bit on this red-eye flight."
Contra: "Lots of turbulence."

Comfort was good because I had paid for an upgrade which I actually thought I was paying for the international flight but found out it was actually for the Charlotte flight which was a surprise it was not very clear from the tool. So hence the Comfort was great on this flight. But the tool needs to make it much more clear as to what you are selecting the upgrade for. Food, there has got to be something else out there other than pretzels, I understand why we do not have peanuts, but a little bit more variety would be very nice. I understand there's a cost tractor, but often pretzels tend to be fairly stale. Short flights entertainment."

Contra: "The obese person was NOT supposed to sit next to me (in my row) he had the seat in front of me. He saw that there were 2 men in his row, he switched to sit in the middle seat 1 row behind. However, i paid extra to move up and i ended up being squashed, sitting very uncomfortably. The man took up half my seat. The flight attendants knew of the messed up seating but did not correct it. Overall disappointed, they should make sure everyone sat in the right place."

Pro: "Wasn't over booked"
Contra: "No entertainment no offer to up grade"

Contra: "I missed my flight in Atlanta heading to LA on my way to Brisbane, Australia on Saturday 16th July. The ground staff wasn't at all helpful in trying to get me on another flight and in fact sent me to Delta! The lady there couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Sadly I wasn't compensated at all and had to pay to re-book the flights on the Sunday 17th. On my return from Brisbane, American Airlines had cancelled my flight to Atlanta as they said I was a 'no show' heading out. Thankfully I was able to get a seat on stand by. So, no I'm not a happy customer."

Pro: "Flight attendants."
Contra: "Last Friday I had booked my flight for 8am, but when I woke up at 5am I found that they had just cancelled my flight without reason or rescheduling at 4:30am. I called the flight (American Airlines) and was put on hold for 45 minutes. Once I was able to get a hold of someone I rescheduled my flight to 7am, which was very rushed. I still managed to reach on time. my 1st stop was LaGuardia and there my gate was exchanged several times and my flight was delayed for 2 hours to Montreal Canada. I reach Montreal and missed my connecting flight to Winnipeg. Again American Airlines did not reschedule for me, the best they can do is give me a $12 voucher for food. So I get my rescheduled for a flight 3 hours later with an additional atop to Toronto. Unfortunately due to all these circumstances I miss one of the wedding events. I was supposed to reach Winnipeg at 4pm but end up reaching at 12:30am. When returning from Winnipeg, I came across more problems. My flight was cancelled due to weather, and again it is delayed for two hours. Our plane had left the gate and so when the airports in NY were closed we were far from the gate. They made us take our luggage and walk back to the airport. There were no clear instructions given and again I had to reschedule. I was stuck in a country with no family or friends at the airport two hours short of a 24hour day. I am really disappointed in the kind of treatment I received as a flyer, and I have flown many times with other airlines. I also don't buy from Kayak, and this will be the first and last time I ever do."

Contra: "Flight over an hour delayed due to staffing. Leaving me delayed to a Covid19 testing site that is down."

Contra: "Flight was delayed. Didn't make connecting flight in Houston. Had to stay overnight in Houston."

Contra: "After UA posted a four hour delay for my original flight, I switched to the next available 1.5 hours later. That flight got delayed and then delayed some more, and by the time I got to SFO, the flight I originally booked, landed about 20 minutes later."

Pro: "Nothing."
Contra: "They delayed our flight 4 times, over 4 hours, told us the flight moved to a gate that didn’t exist, gave us erroneous information about alternate flights, assigned 3 different planes that needed maintenance, and then we waited over 2 hours to talk with a supervisor. I finally had them rebook me on Alaska Airlines (the best)."

Pro: "Check-in at Narita was great!!! The entire process from obtaining boarding pass to dropping off luggage took less than 3 minutes."

Pro: "The pilots were informative with their announcements and we were informed of turbulence before it started. We also got in ahead of schedule. I also appreciated being able to ask for a glass of water between services as I had fallen asleep."
Contra: "The negative experiences started before we got on the plane. Boarding began slightly behind schedule and was very disorganized. People were all standing in the boarding area and out into the walkway for the concourse. I feel it would be better to have boarding groups come up individually or two at a time. (While group one boards, group two convenes. Once group one has boarded, invite group three to take their place.) Once group three had boarded, an announcement was made that there was no overhead bin space availble for the entirety of group 4. It seems a bit ridiculous that nearly half the plane wouldn’t have overhead space. It took awhile to board group 4 as everyone had luggage to check and once we finally got down the jetway, we had to wait another few minutes before being able to get to our seats as the flight attendant for first class insisted on taking drink orders while she stood in the aisle. I understand this is a perk of first class but I feel it could be better executed. These seats are boarded in group one so to have drink orders incomplete by the time group four is trying to board is irritating at best and incompetent at worst. Once finally at our seats, it became apparent that the announcement about lack of overhead bin space had been made a bit early. The bins were on the full side but they definitely had space available. Also, much of the space had been taken up by jackets and bags that would have fit under the seats; which I felt could have prevented nearly all of the checked bags. The flight was uneventful with minor annoyances like having to pay for entertainment and any sort of food. Even southwest provides entertainment free of charge and I consider them to be more of a budget airline. If I fly Lufthansa again, I will not take a domestic flight through United and will instead book via southwest to and from the international airport Lufthansa flies out of."

Pro: "Love that they allow military and parents with small children on first."

Pro: "I liked when the attendant got an attitude with me when asked her if she had a trash bag but ignored what I asked to tell me to put up my table when I was already in the process of closing it."
Contra: "Overall just everything with my flight. The rudeness, discomfort. Just ridiculous! Can’t forget about the fact I couldn’t even buy WiFi so it was a really bring 5 hour flight."

Pro: "The flight attendants were cheery and quick with their service. Was very impressed."
Contra: "I was sitting in the row behind the extra leg room seat. When they were fully reclined, I could not open my laptop fully, so I had to work with my laptop screen angled toward me. The seat back entertainment screen was impossible to see when the seat in front of me was reclined as well, and the screen did not adjust/tilt. Worst of all, it was extremely difficult to get out of the seat."

Pro: "United continues to deteriorate with awful food and entertainment. I paid fir a premium seat and was greatly disappointed because it was so uncomfortable."

Contra: "No movie without paying"

Contra: "My new luggage was mishandled so poorly that the bottom wheel assembly snapped in two and there is a puncture hole about an inch long in a different area of the bag. The bag is also very dirty. When I brought it to the counter I was told "Minor tears and wheels are not covered" and that I could "...make a homeowner's insurance claim." Not even an apology."

Pro: "Nothing - missed flight because of bad info from Kayal"
Contra: "Loss of day's vacation - hotel bill, rental car cost and missed concert - all in about $400 lost."

Pro: "Plane is clean and on time"
Contra: "Only one working restroom for people on plane for over four hours. Full flight."

Pro: "Very quick flight from ORD to BHM involving hardly any bad weather which got me home early."
Contra: "The online entertainment had poor connectivity and did not work, forcing me to take a nap to kill time."

Contra: "I really didn't like how the agent by gate presented herself. She was rude and disrespectful. She wouldn't let me get hold of my son who was flying with frontier to Denver get my book. Than frontier charged my son $45 for a small bag. This is sad"

Contra: "Flight was delayed and overbooked. It wasnt the first time the flight was delayed. Flight going was also delayed. Attendants seemed to be in a bit of bad mood but were overall ok i guess. It was a short flight so it didnt matter."

Pro: "Even though I was on connecting flights and weather sounded like it might interfere, that was not the case. Each flight went smoothly and easily. It was a fantastic travel day."

Contra: "The flight was overbooked and asked for several volunteers to take later flights for travel credit. Ended up forcing those unlucky souls in the last boarding group off flight with no offer of credit or accommodation. Waited in customer service line for hours, literally longer than it would have taken to take off and arrive at my scheduled destination. United representatives could not find a flight that guaranteed a seat (not on a long standby list) that was even in the same 12 hour period. I spoke with a United supervisor who showed zero empathy or concern with the situation. In the end I arranged for other travel accommodations to drive to my family reunion destination. No refund was issued or offered. I was informed I would have to call United customer service after the date of my previously scheduled return flight to explain my situation. I will personally never fly United again and would recommend the same to anyone. Although for the record, I did receive a single ten dollar airport food voucher for my inconvenience. Inexcusable."

Contra: "The gate changed twice. We were directed to a bus to take us to our flight to only be made to get back off the bus because we didn't have a crew. No one would tell us anything. Got back into the airport and then 30 minutes later got put back on the bus. The plane was disgusting, smelled like urine. The air conditioning didn't work. Terrible."

Pro: "Leg room in seats better than on some airlines. Staff friendly."
Contra: "Both flights were delayed. One hour going and two hours on return."

Pro: "The flight attendant, Elizabeth, was great! She was friendly and helpful. She made our flight more enjoyable."
Contra: "The ranch snack mix was kinda spicy and had a couple of weird things in with the pretzels. I would've liked it better if it was just regular pretzels. In fact, both my boyfriend and I only ate the pretzels part of it, because we didn't like the other parts."
