For 20 minutes crew stood around in the airport talking to each other and using their cellphones. Finally the transport bus was loaded only to have the bus driver get out, and talk to another employee while simultaneously using his phone. No information was given for the delay and the plane was boarded at time of departure. This careless and unbothered attitude resulted in a missed connecting flight for my partner and I. We were completely unassisted by crew on the plane and ended up having to wait 24hours for our next flight home. Absolutely disgusted by the service provided from Cluj to Munich. I would seriously consider another airline before booking again with Lufthansa for this route."

It caused bedlam at the Frankfurt airport, which the Lufthansa staff appeared utterly unprepared to deal with. This is our second very bad experience with Lufthansa."

Pro: "I flew in Business Class from JFK to Munich and then back to JFK via Frankfort. Both flights were on time and very smooth overall in both directions. The cabin crew was good both ways and all spoke English well. Lufthansa long haul flights still use the older 2 x 2 x 2 seating arrangement (unlike the more modern and common 1 x 2 x 1 arrangement where all seats have aisle access)...so if you don't want someone crawling over you trying to get to the toilet while you are trying to sleep be sure to choose a center seat (both with direct aisle access.) While not totally uncomfortable, the Lufthansa business class sleeper seats are narrower...less well padded...and have less recline options than those used by most other long haul airlines, especially the very narrow foot-wells. The pillows and blankets could be better too. The food was OK - but not on a par with what most other airlines serve on long haul flights. The JFK to Munich flight was non-problematic in all respects. However, there was a screaming baby in my aisle (Row 4 on a 747-8 only 2 seats away from me) on the Frankfort to JFK leg...which I found TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
Contra: "What airline would permit a lap baby (less than 2 years old...a periodic screamer...and totally unmanageable by its solo-travelling mother) to occupy it's Business Class section on a 7+ hour flight - while inconveniencing (and aggravating) all other nearby Business Class passengers who paid thousands of dollars/euros to ride in Business Class so they don't have to put up with this kind of nonsense? The answer is: "LUFTHANSA!!! And YES, this actually happened on my Frankfort to JFK flight (LH 400 on 23 January 2017.) I'm not sure if the woman in question paid for two seats or not but this unmanageable kid finally calmed down and fell asleep - but he did so in the seat next to her. If this unmanageable lap kid was allowed to do everything he did (including to use a Business Class seat for free IF that is what actually happened) then this just adds insult to injury. WAKE UP LUFTHANSA!!! People pay huge sums to ride in Business Class to avoid this situation - and it's time you BANNED this situation from even occurring."

Contra: "I had a business class seat but it was really more like premium economy for other airlines, but with lower quality. Food, especially for business clsss was not very good. The person next to me flies with them often and pre-requested gluten free but they didn't have anything for her. The seats were not clean with a leftover tissue and apple core from a previous flight. Lufthansa is now my last resort option when flying to and from Europe."

I felt sea sick and a lady behind me was actually throwing up it was so rough."

Contra: "This really is more about the flight from paris to Bucharest: I’ve literally never experienced a worse ticketing and boarding process. Old planes, ride staff (even by remarkably curt and abrupt Romanian standards). Broken inline experience. Overall unpleasant. Seems to be flown only by Romanian families with hundreds of pounds of luggage. Like a caravan."

Contra: "Dusseldorf to Warsaw: Boarding terrible including assistance and messaging. - Boarding chaos - Late flight out of Dusseldorf (about an hour) - Just before landing, pilot announced all connections would be made - (and even mentioned chicago) - Connecting flight was gone when I arrived at gate, and I was quick in getting to gate from prior flight - next flight caused 5 hour layover in Warsaw Warsaw to Chicago Boarding terrible including assistance and messaging. - Boarding chaos - Late flight our ot Warsaw (about an hour) - no messaging at gate about reason for delay - kept increasing departure by 5 minute increments; started at 16:40 ended 17:05 (I beleive) - once boarding was complete, pilot said delay was due to wait for connections (boarding was an hour and 15 minutes late). Very frustrated"

We couldnt even go in and relax inside at restaurants or the gate because online check in wasnt available. Then the flight was further delayed with no news about when the new take off would be or why the delay. Finally boarded a tiny plane that had propellers and a loud take off, if you easily fright on planes probably not the best choice for you. And then someone started smoking on the flight and the attendants had to announce again that smoking wasnt allowed. On and off throughout the flight it smelled like someone was smoking so I wonder if it was even coming from the cockpit."

When I tried to change the baggage weight to 32kg a charge was added for NOT taking the case PLUS the extra for the 32kg case! The cost of a case is reasonable and I would advise to pay the extra £5 for 32kg for most flights. The on-line Seating Selection is also unreliable, I was seated next to an empty seat which had been showing to be unavailable on-line! A response to my query which I sent to Blue Air arrived when I was in the air on the flight! It only repeated the baggage section of the Confitions document! Thank goodness for the excellent airport check-in staff and the Flight Crew!"

We queued for 1.5 Hours to then be blocked as all six counters were given over to another flight and people who arrived LATER then us for our flight got to go first. It was incredibly stressful and frustrating especially when I checked in online before arriving at the airport. We had to rush and run through the airport and board at final call. In fact it would put me off flying with Blue Air again."

Contra: "Flight boarding starte 25 minuets late"

Contra: "Too short time between the flights, almost lose the connecting flight."

Contra: "Nothing special"

Contra: "We arrived at the airport at 9:00 to check in for our flight that was scheduled for departure at 12:15 and we were told that we could not check in until 2 hours before the flight (10:15). All of the passengers for flight AZ1466 lined up in front of a check-in counter that displayed Alitalia for our flight. At 10:45 they announced the check in for AZ1466 at a different check-in counter knowing full-well that everyone was lined up for flight AZ1466 on our line. So then everyone that was lined up at the first counter had to line up at the new counter. My wife and I were initially 3rd in line and then after we had to move we were in the very back of the line. On top of that, they only had 1 person checking everyone into economy (which was most of the people on the plane) and they also had to weigh everyone’s carry-on baggage. We were initially told they had weather issues with the snow in Rome and they did not know if we would take off on time or would be cancelled. However, I was getting e-mail messages from Kayak stating our flight was on-time. So how is it that a 3rd party travel company knew what was going on, but the crew at Alitalia did not? Afterward I had to go through security, wait on the tax refund line, and go straight to board the plane. After that we waiting on the plane for 50 minutes and did not take-off until 1:05 PM. These were the problems in short: 1. No one informed us that we could not check in at this particular airport until 2 hours prior to flight departure. 2. They did not begin the check in process until 90 minutes prior to departure. 3. We had to switch check-in lines and they only had 1 check-in person. 4. We had no time to shop or eat lunch at the airport. 5. We boarded the plane and waited until 13:05 to takeoff when we were scheduled to take off at 12:15 (50 minute delay). 6. We received no communications about delays from Alitalia (via e-mail or app). However, we received e-mails from Kayak stating everything was on time. We had no communication from Alitalia about the delay or that we could not check in early (which you could do at every other airport I have been to). We also had a connecting flight in Rome that we were concerned we would miss. We arrived at Rome airport on a delayed flight out of Marco Polo airport (AZ1466). Our 13:40 flight to JFK (AZ610) was delayed until 14:45. After we arrived at Rome airport we ran through the airport to our gate and boarded the plane. After we boarded the plane we waited until 16:10 to take-off (85 minute delay). We did not receive any communication from Alitalia via e-mail, the Alitalia app, or crew members that our flight was being delayed any longer than it already was. We planned on stopping to use the bathrooms in the airport, eat a decent lunch, and shop (which I promised my wife we could do at the airport). However, we could not do any of those things because we did not receive any information about delays from Alitalia. After we arrived home in New York the airline l"

Pro: "Boarding and in-flight crew very polite and professional."

Pro: "The lady at the check in counter was super nice, I was a few kilos over and she didn’t charge me extra"
Contra: "The plane looked old and dirty"

Contra: "SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT THE IMMIGRATION TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF THE QUEUE."

Contra: "See above. This scam is not acceptable. You should be ashamed. I demand my money back for paying twice for baggage, including the airport fee. I will be going to the media re this scam and seeing if I can start a class action."

Pro: "I had not flown overseas in so long that I had forgotten how nice flying could be. The flight attendants were especially attentive and helpful. Not only did we get a "free" meal, but it included white or red wine if desired. I felt like I was experiencing what flying used to be like in an earlier time."

Pro: "Really comfy headrests and blankets. Easiest plane I've slept on by far."
Contra: "Headset wasn't working so I could watch tv or listen to music."

Pro: "I didn't"
Contra: "The flight was only supposed to take two hours but instead they sat around for another hour and a half or so and then there was so little leg room that my knees even if I was all the way against the back wall showed into the seat in front of me so bad that I had to stick them out in the aisle and said crooked and then my seat would not latch"

Pro: "Flight was fine"
Contra: "They changed my lay over from 1.5 hours to 5.5 hours. On the way over they changed flight 7 hours I wouldn't have gotten to my hotel until a day later. I had to rebook with another airline. Still not sure they will return fare. Used Webjet will never use again!!"

Contra: "I.m 6'2 and it was impossibly uncomfortable"

Pro: "Nothing"
Contra: "Food quality was awful, no entertainment whatsoever and the smallest seats I have sat on. Legroom is extremely tight"

Contra: "The flight was operated by Alitalia, so my bad review is about it: 1- they made us pay 75 euro for 4 extra kg on the luggage; 2- once on board we had to wait 45 minutes before leaving the airport; 3- there was no entertainment on the plane which looked like a very old plane; 4- they served us a tasteless sandwich and muffin(MEA flight serves a full meal) 5- the choice of drinks was poor: water, Coca cola, tea or coffee, no juices or alcohol; 6- we asked for water 3 times and the flight attendant never came back; Being an expensive flight I was expecting something more than a low coast flight company. VERY DISAPPOINTED."

Pro: "Plane in good condition with more than average roominess in economy class with accommodating crew, decent food, and entertainment."
Contra: "In Italy Alitalia was difficult to contact and failed to provide timely and complete information about changes to check in procedures, e-ticket number, and flight identification number changes. Web site clunky at best and telephone tree info all in Italian only. When I tried to check in on line only message was of a "problem" with the ticket. No way to get info even at airport until shortly before flight. Flight departed one hour late. My wife's foot room impeded by electronic control box under seat in front of her. In short, back office and online services poor but flight and plane ok. None the less, will not use Alitalia again due to back office problems."

Contra: "delay without clear indication"

Pro: "Wine was offered complimentary to the meal"
Contra: "Boarding process was a mess, flight was late due to the confusion. Crew took forever to collect trash after the in flight meal was over."

Pro: "fast boarding"
Contra: "crews are extremely rude; whenever they had to move the cart in the isles they always ended up slamming every passengers arm without a single apology. and they have no control of the environment due to some young passengers were making loud noises during the whole flight."

Pro: "More leg space."
Contra: "No tv screen"

Pro: "The seats are bigger than in other airlines! Good space."
Contra: "The crew disappeared, they would not come when they were called. They were too busy fighting with each other."

Pro: "The food was great and they provide plenty and the entertainment was awesome"
Contra: "The comfort of the flight for 10 hours in economy was horrible: it's just to cramped. I would only fly first class in the future for long flights. For a better idea: I'm only 5'2 and 160lbs."

Pro: "Check in easy."
Contra: "Two hour weather delay Impossible European connection (which I somehow made) No luggage (it didn't make connection)"

Contra: "Very small seats and too warm!"

Contra: "No room and very uncomfortable"

Contra: "My flight was cancelled and didnt get information from the hungarian ground staff about the reason. They just changed it for Austrian Airlines but I don't like Austrian Airlines and i had also an Insurance for this ticket. After a long conversation I could fly by Lufthansa with stopover in Frankfurt."

Contra: "Long layover in Rome."

Pro: "Price"
Contra: "Paid for upgrade comfort seats. Did not get them on the outbound flight ROM-TLV. They could not explain why we did get the seats and have not paid back the 80€ for the 2 seats. Had to fight for the comfort seats TLV-ROM. DO NOT LIKE ALITALIA!"

Contra: "Old airplane. No entertainment at all. The lugage remain in the airport and didn't arrive at destination."

Pro: "The experience was as good as one can expect a quick flight to be."

Contra: "The boarding was chaos in both Munich and Rome. Apparently Al Italia had instituted a new computer system and the workers did not know how to use it. I spent hours on line getting a boarding pass in Munich, and then again another in Rome (in Munich no one was given boarding passes for connecting flights). I spend hours again in lines to get a boarding pass for a flight to Palermo, missing my connection and only getting a much later flight to Palermo. It was utter confusion. Shame on Al Italia."

Pro: "Landing in Rome. Hotel after missing connection flight."
Contra: "Delay of 2 HOURES cosed missing a connection flight to Tel Aviv. Next flighr to Tel aviv 36 houres later !!!"

Contra: "The flight crew was very rude, never answered call bells, were drinking and socializing in the back of the plane. Worst airline I've flown by far and I'm an avid traveler."

Pro: "Crew was friendly"
Contra: "I was a 1 hr delay due to a late asigned time for take off"
