Delhi to Doha is excellent..
Checkin was greuling slow and an excruciating experience at the Indira Gandhi international airport. There were only 4 windows open to check in 300 passengers. It took me 50 mins to get to the window. I was there 3+ hours before departure time upon arrival from my domestic flight that arrived on Terminal 2. Security took another hour and no one from the flight ground staff came looking for me to expedite my security unlike the KLM staff. KLM staff was looking for their passengers in the security and immigration area for a good half hour. Also, I tried multiple times the day of my flight to WEB CHECKIN. the Qatar website and APP didn't let me do that either. I nearly missed my flight and was the last one to board!!!! I hope the airlines adapts to handle larger volume of passengers given the type of Airport rules and regulations. For example, IGA at New Delhi haa an additional Immigration step before security that's added an additional 45 min to my time to board the plane. Thank you and I hope a real human actually reads this survey response and it doesn't end up being processed by a computer bot that lacks human compassion and emotional IQ.
Specially crew was very hard working polite, professional and smiley. Very very helpful and caring. Full marks to crew.

Personalul foarte amabil si prietenos însă foarte frig in cabine in special pentru un zbor de noapte. Venind dintr-o tara unde minima este de 24 de grade sa stai timp de 5 ore la o temperatura de maxim 16-17 grade si in curent nu a fost prea plăcut.
The boarding procedure was ABYSMAL. It is infuriating to be asked to "social distance" and wear masks when the airline is unable to conduct boarding in an organized and efficient way. The crew was totally incompetent in informing waiting passengers. No microphones. No digital display of boarding order. No staff assistance. Waiting for WAY too long with no explanation. It was perfectly awful. Food was eatable but completely tasteless. Not nearly enough liquid distribution.
Clean the toilet more often.

Contra: "The TSA agents broke my phone and tried to hide it in a secured package with another of my electronics. I questioned why 1/3 phones were in secured and the others were not. I was told to not open the bag until I reached my destination. Lucky I opened it after I cleared security to find that the face of the phone had been shattered with glass shards sticking out, I bought this to the crews' attention and was told to send an email to a random email for the airlines and that the incident would be investigated later. So basically I was given the brush off. Worst experience I have had while flying."

Pro: "I was surprised with the quality of gluten free meals served for me, it was well organised and taken care of where I never had to wait. My flight schedules were changed few days before departure by Qatar Airways, but only thing I had to do was to confirm that I have noted, my seats and all the rest of details intact, excellent."
Pro: "Great amenities and service - fed often throughout trip and great console with games, movies, etc."
Contra: "The neck rest was a bit tall and deep for a shorter person with a smaller neck - it caused me some discomfort while trying to rest."

Contra: "The first flight from KTM the TV didn't work and I didn't fit into the seat. The most uncomfortable seat in a long time. The second flight from Doh to JFK was not good. I was put through 3 security checks when I already went through security in KTM. On the 3rd check my Dutyfree whiskey was taken from me because they would not let me take it in my carry on. They said I could take it if I checked my carry on bag (one backpack). My carry on has everything I need for a 16 hour flight. Plus, I had my very expensive camera gear in there too so I could not do this. This was unfair and Qatar needs to step up and return my Dutyfree whiskey and reimburse for the flight without TV. I will never suggest Qatar to anyone."

Seats are way too close together for a long haul...person's tray in front of me was in my face the entire trip and she didn't bother inclining throughout so had to eat my meals like a contortionist. Cramming more seats into a finite space seems to be what all airlines are doing these days. This of us whom are above average in height are forced to insure a more painful and uncomfortable flight as a result."

Air quality descends on a long full flight, it became claustrophobic by the end. There was only an option for vegetarian-vegan, but I am not vegan. I won't do that again. My daughter's bag didn't make to SFO, even though we were early to check in."
Pro: "Swissair seating is cramped with 10 across in coach in Boeing 777. The only reason for not giving "poor" rating on this particular ZRH-SFO flight, was the empty seat next to me."
Contra: "Next time, I will give Turkish Airlines a chance, because their aircraft seats only 9 across in Boeing 777 coach. On the SFO-BUD flight, the connection is through Istanbul, but the flight time is the same 15 hours, as on the SFO-ZRH-BUD route. In addition, two checked bags are free in coach."

Contra: "The plane was too hot. I asked multiple times throughout the flight for the temperature to be reduced, and it was not. I was wearing light jeans and a short sleeve shirt, and I was sweating all flight. Each time I asked throughout the duration of the flight, I was told it take a while for the temperature to decline. It's one thing to be uncomfortably warm on a flight; it's another thing when the flight crew lies to you. Further, I was not the only one to request that the temperature be reduced. This made an 11 hour flight particularly miserable."

Pro: "I was late ( I had to drive 230 Km ) and I managed to call in advance the company that was doing the check-in on behalf of SWISS - I asked them the Check-in time closing time and by almost flying ( speeding like crazy ) I arrived before that moment."
Contra: "I did not check the terms and conditions of the ticket. I am a Star Alliance Gold member and I was expecting SWISS to have a similar booking system like the others I fly with. I found out that the ticket fare did not contain checked luggage ( so I had to pay a hefty fee for it ) and also my 20" wheeled case that was ok in all the other flights I took it with me, this time was oversized and overweight . My wife took out the 2 laptops so it became within weight limits but still oversized - My wife paid for the fee ( I wasn't there at the time and she is not a such experienced flyier as I am ) . When I found out about the fee, I checked their rules and I found out that the hand luggage is allowed to be 22" . I saw in the airplane a lot of people with cases having the same size as mine, that went as checked luggage at a cost fo around 40 . I want to see how can I get my money back . . ."
Pro: "The crew fed us well throughout the flight--and we got free wine with dinner. The food was pretty good for airplane food. We got fresh dinner rolls, salad, dessert, and Swiss cheese. We got ice cream part way through the trip. I loved that we got a piece of Swiss chocolate on each leg of the journey. The crew was friendly. There was a screen at each seat where you could watch movies or TV, listen to music, or track your flight. The entertainment was free, and the crew provided free earphones. Blankets and pillows were provided."
Contra: "Like most planes, there was not enough leg room. It makes it pretty uncomfortable for an 11-1/2 hour flight. The boarding was a little confusing, but no serious issues."
Pro: "The crew was both fun and efficient. The food was definitely a step ahead of American owned airline companies. Very good choices of movies and entertainment."

Contra: "I had such a miserable experience getting to Florence on Swiss Air that I sent a letter of complaint WHILE ON VACATION!! Really. It was a nightmare... not the way you want to start a vacation. I had difficulty booking my daughter's seat online for the return, but didn't have access to phone service while abroad. In my complaint letter to Swiss Air I requested they place us together. I never got a response and upon check in, they had my son and me in our purchased seats and my daughter at the back of the plane. I asked them if they could do anything about it (I was even willing to give up my seats to move to the back...) yet no one seemed concerned or interested in helping to make this work. They also had no knowledge of my complaint or appeared concerned about my prior experience. I'm so over Swiss Air. My experience with the employees on the phone prior to my first departure, the lack of response to my email, and a disinterested and inattentive staff on my return, have all convinced me to choose a different airline next time."

Contra: "The flight from ZRH to SFO was in an older 777 and the seats were very uncomfortable with limited leg room in economy. This flight was not very enjoyable. I have to say though that the very friendly and helpful flight attendants were compensating for this. Thank you!"

Contra: "The flight from Nairobi to Zurich starts in Nairobi, flies an hour south to Dar es Salaam, you then sit on the tarmac for an hour, then you fly north for an hour until you get back to the starting point. I would think they would save money if they flew an empty plane down to Dar es Salaam, picked up those passengers and then flew back to Nairobi. No way should an 8.5 hour flight take over 11.5 hours. Plus my screen didn't work for one of the flights, nearly 12 hours without entertainment was BS. No real variety in their meals either. The first leg had a main meal of beef and potatoes as the meat option, same option for the second leg."
Pro: "Crew was amazing. So patient and accommodating, even when passengers were a bit impatient. Cabin was clean, and it was good to have blankets and pillow on a long flight."
Contra: "Boarding was a bit chaotic. Food was okay but not substantial. Comfort was terrible in my seat - for some reason I had a seat with a metal box underneath so I could not stretch my legs. And the fellow next to me, in the middle, was over 6 feet and was VERY uncomfortable, even though he had legroom. There were good options for entertainment, but it was unreliable and had to be restarted once. Also, the screen was terrible quality and I could not see no matter how I adjust the screen angle or the light."

Contra: "The Swissair website did not have my information available. Stood next to Passport Control for an hour (!) for a glitch they couldn't resolve before boarding. Flight was delayed 90 minutes. Worse quality beef on a flight ever, and that's hard to do. In my 1.5 million miles flown, these were the least comfortable, cramped seats I have ever experienced. I am only 5'7", 150lbs, but for the first time ever could not reach my belongings in the under-the-seat space in front of me. Seriously, it was that cramped."

Contra: "The seats are terrible. Narrow, the armrests edgy and only partially movable. A large metal box under the seat takes away 2/3 of the legroom. The entertainment system is outdated, screen has no contrast and can only be viewed at a straight angle, which is impossible as soon as the seat is reclined."
Pro: "The crew did a great job of handling our 2-hour delay in starting from Zurich - we were kept updated on what was happening, the aircraft was at a comfortable temperature (not too hot, not too cold), and we were given water during the wait. Also, during the flight, the crew kept coming through with more water, which was VERY NICE! Plus, the moist towels prior to landing. It makes a big difference in comfort levels for such a long flight."
Contra: "The on-board entertainment system was old and very clumsy to handle (with the embedded control in the arm rest). Also, it crashed on me two times and had to be re-booted, which was frustrating and took a long time every time it happened."

Contra: "My partner & I were given separate seats. We tired to reserve our seats online according to instructions & time but the online registration wasn't working properly. We had to wait til we were at the airport to do that. When checking in we were told we had to wait til onboard? Then once on board told no. So we were not able to sit together & weren't even in the same area of the plane. We also had an old plane & seats very uncomfortable. The movie screen was barely visible so basically u could just listen."
Pro: "Food was overall not bad. It would have been nice to have more snack options if I was hungry in between meals."
Contra: "Landed early but there was no gate so we just sat on the runway. We also sat on the runway long past when we were supposed to arrive. I'm not sure why there still was no gate when we passed the time that we were supposed to arrive. There were also no power outlets in the plane. For such a long flight, it would be great to have power outlets to charge devices while flying. Flight was also kept very cold. Not very good entertainment options."

Contra: "Small jet for transatlantic didn't allow for being able to walk, stretch and move about much during such a long flight, unlike larger airbus planes or larger Boeing planes. Why do airlines hire chefs then serve lousy food!? First meal was so so while wake up meal was really bad. Was so disappointed in Swiss Air so will not fly with them again. Great service doesn't make up for the noted disappointments. Spending a $2-3 more on food would have helped, but placing us in a long flight in such a small airbus plane just won't do!"

Contra: "All airlines are doing this—we're seated closer and closer together, but the seats are the same. They recline just as much, and the screens pivot as little. And when you have screens that darken at an angle, when the person in front of you leans back, not only is their head in your lap, but you can't see your screen at all. I hate that it's on passengers to decide that it's rude to lean back, when it's the function of the chair. Besides, barely anyone considers it rude. So I was uncomfortable and cramped (and yes, I asked the kid in front of me if she would please move her chair up just a little bit as a favor, but she said she leaned back because the guy in front of her leaned back). Nice kid. I'm not a big guy. Finally home with a horrible neck cramp and a sore tailbone."

Contra: "The boarding process was a pain in the butt. Even though my boyfriend and I did a pre- check-in online the day before. We still had to wait over an hour to check our one piece of luggage and wait to be checked in and get the boarding pass. Even though the site says we have the option to print out the boarding pass or show the code on our phone, we still had to deal with all the hassle. The plane was smelly until we were about to take off. The first meal on our way back from Istanbul was awful. The omelette was greasy, overly cheesy and bland. Same goes for the spinach pastry in the same tray. On the flights to Cairo, there was not enough drinks served. I only had one beverage offered to me. I was bypassed when they were serving the coffee/ tea. Also, the timeliness with serving drink was bad... I waited about 4 hours before getting my first beverage on the flight home."

Contra: "I nearly missed my connecting flight because of how poorly organized Ataturk airport is. Disembarking was extremely time consuming; there were few signs instructing connecting passengers where to go; and the employees of the airport were extremely unhelpful and gave conflicting information. I made my flight with only minutes to spare after going through two security and passport checkpoints and sprinting an entire wing of the airport. I will never fly through Ataturk (or anywhere in Turkey) again."

I had assumed that Turkish would be like it's other middle Eastern airlines line Emirates or Qutar but they are not. I would take my business elsewhere"

It was very crowded and the staff wasn’t too keen on taking plates from passengers after they’ve eaten so often we were stuck with our trays and couldn’t get up or move. Boarding was a pain from Istanbul. The security check was chaotic and I wish they had a more sanitary way of checking everyone’s bags instead of using the same pair of gloves to search every passenger’s bag and do a body check."
Pro: "My kids, wife and I loved flying to Turkish Airlines. Always on time, tasty and nutritious food, wonderful staff who help you with smile on their faces. Sure, we'll fly Turkish Airlines from now on."

Contra: "Every flight was 30+ minutes late. Crew members at the gate were consistently on their phones and delayed service substantially. Not only am I incredibly frustrated that I could not bring my laptop onboard to do work, but the fact I wasn't told until right at boarding and it took extensive time to reclaim it makes Turkish airlines on par with Ryan Air for inconveniencing its customers. At baggage claim, the crew loaded our baggage on the incorrect track, making it take even longer to receive it. Seats and leg room are sub par. As someone who is 6'3, when the person in front of me put their seat back, I was forced to take a metal bar on the back of their seat to my knees (no matter the position). I will be recommending to both family and friends that they should avoid this airline at all costs."
Pro: "As with the departure, everything was smooth for those who had no carry-on laptop"
Contra: "The new carry-on laptop caused a delay of about 1 hr before departure and arrival an hour late, then claiming the laptop was almost a nightmare with long queue after picking up the luggages, one has to also claim their laptops in a make shift station In the baggage claims area. My suggestion is to put the computer laptops in alphabetic order by last name/surname, with the claim ticket,for easier access when picking up. As for departure, probably at check in to inform them that if you have a laptop carry-on so that can be taken care of right away as not to delay departure when they take it at the departing gate. This should be done at check in if in Turkey, or as a transferring traveler, to inform the traveler to take care of that as soon as arrived to transferring destination and for the traveler not to wait until boarding time at the boarding gate."
Pro: "The flight itself was great and the crew was wonderful"
Contra: "Due to the laptop ban, the boarding and un-boarding process was brutal. We had to stand in line for an hour and a half just to hand over our laptops, where for some reason they decided to have only 2 people handling the process which created a huge line. The flight was 1:30 late and as we landed, there was no method to the delivery of the laptops to people. I had to wait almost 2 hours to get my laptop. Again, they only had 2-3 people handling the distribution of the laptops. I understand the security issue, but this issue was known for weeks now and there is no reason not to have enough people on the ground to take care of the boarding and distribution of electronic devices to at least make this an easier experience. There is no excuse for such poor preparation and service."

Pro: "I got extremely sick on the flight from Istanbul to San Francisco. I now know I caught a stomach bug which hit me on the flights from Cape Town to Istanbul and then even worse from Istanbul to San Francisco. The flight from Istanbul was delayed by two hours due to customs delay for a passenger, as such there was a lot of recycled air. Take that and fact I'm pregnant and by time i started the 13 hour journey already felt sick. I started throwing up immediately and got sick 12 more times. the flight attendants brought me crackers, water and a cold towel and ice. My husband asked if he could pay to put me in business class but was not in airline policy. but i think given how sick and pregnant i was the flight attendant went to ask the captain if there was anything they could do to assist. they ended up moving me to business class to lie down and let me stay there for 3 hours. I got sick upon moving back but getting that rest really helped me. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and am so thankful to the two flight attendants who assisted: 1) Zumrat Bolukbas 2) Hatice (Cabin Chief) These women are amazing!"
Contra: "the 2 hour flight delay on tarmac."
Pro: "This was my first flight with Turskis Airlines and my best experience with flying to Europe. The food was excellent; we had two hot delicious meals (best airplane food I ever had). The crew was the best - professional yet friendly. TA airfares are cheaper than other airlines so I could spend one day in Istanbul. That alone is worth it!"

I have traveled to over 40 countries in the past 30+ years and this was beyond the pale, absolutely a nightmare, and almost all of it (excepting the actual snow delay) in the airline's control. NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE THROUGH ISTANBUL."

Contra: "The on-ground customer service in Istanbul was the worst experience I have ever had with humans in my whole life. They were unhelpful, rude, blatantly ignored people, dismissive, walked away from customers when they didn't want to deal with them, did not do anything to keep order when people were cutting in line after people were waiting for 4+ hours. I will avoid flying Turkish Airlines as best I can."

I have never slept so much on a flt. Also he bathrooms are much more spacious than others."

Stewards couldn't give out bottles of water, only those little cups from time to time. They could bring more of those little cups when you called for them, but not during turbulence. So having no access to water was not great (or planned out on their part). Also, no random sweeps of the aisle by the stewardess from time to time, to check on comfort. My seat kept being pushed by passenger behind me. Flight into Istanbul two weeks prior was great all around. This knee was filled with too many negative moments."

Contra: "Kayak a howed my gate as something that didn’t exist at the terminal. I went to a kayak help desk to have a ticket printed that showed my TSA precheck because it wasn’t showing on my mobile ticket, and no one was there to help. I waisted for 10 mins. It then took me nearly 2 hours to get through security. I asked if I could get through quicker and was told I could not, despite it being passed my boarding time. I then ran to my gate where I waited for another 10 mins (no one was there, again) and then an employee came out and said they couldn’t let anyone board once the door was shut. He then directed me to the delta help desk (there was at least 20 people behind me who missed their flight). I then had to pay an additional $75 to get a later flight. The whole experience was awful and I’m disappointed with Kayak and the gate confusion, but mostly Delta and the lack of customer service."

Nice to see kindness in an industry that seizes fees on every opportunity."

Got to watch bag handlers throw and drop luggage like true gorillas. Delta, this time you truely are the worst. Wont book you again."

Something you usually get in business class but a first for me in economy. They also came around several times during the flight with water/juice, and snacks. Entertainment was ok. A mixture of newer movies available."
Contra: "Like all economy seating not much space especially when the person in front reclines their seat. This makes getting in and out of the seat a little difficult. Food a bit limited. 2 main meals for this flight (lunch/dinner) - chicken or pasta for the first one and beef or pasta (again) for the pre-landing meal. Also the attendant didn’t know the translation of the pasta dish from German to English so that was a bit disappointing. One thing to note. I flew Hamburg to Frankfurt to connect to the San Francisco flight with a 1 hour layover. You need to go through passport control in FRA and then I hustled to get to the gate. They were boarding as I arrived but maybe 10 minutes later and I would have missed my flight. No issues with the airline just a cautionary note on the layover time. I would likely book an earlier connecting flight to give a bit more time."

Crowd of people, huge lines, all disorganized. The control for EU passengers was not so crowded but you couldn't see it at the end of the line, so even people who didn't have to were all crowding in the same cue. Horrible experience and I almost missed my flight because of this mess."

Contra: "No matter what you try to order on the airplane is totally disgusting. If it's not overloaded with cheese and tomato sauce then it's overcompensated with spices (salt or chili). I will never understand why it is so hard to provide simple, fresh and enjoyable meals. Chairs in economy are rarely cleaned up and one can see on the cushions that they are worn out and have lost their padding making the seats very uncomfortable. There was no foot rest available (which is such a simple addition that helps a lot) and the "holder pocket" on the seat in front was a simple net completely useless. Tables were dirty suggesting they were never cleaned and disinfected. Knowing that the highest source of viruses are the tray tables and the pockets in front I would expect attention to be focused on those- it not only impacts the health of the traveler but more important that of the crew. Why is it so hard to think of this business two fold: make revenue but mostly be kind to humans."
Contra: "A flight attendant from Bucharest to Frankfurt kept bumping her behind in my shoulder. Before this she was not helpful when I asked her where to put my bag. She shoukd not work with people if she does not like them. Otherwise, everything was great: food, space, movies."
Pro: "The food was pretty good. Normally I can't eat airplane food but it was actually good."
Contra: "The seat didn't go back at all"
Pro: "Lufthansa service is always incredible. Food is better than most other carriers and so is entertainment. Had a delay due to incoming flights, but staff made sure we had plenty of water and snacks while on the tarmac."
Contra: "Although we had reserved (paid) seats as a family in an entire row, upon check in we were given different seats. We had to spend 20 minutes talking with different agents in order to get our original seats."
Contra: "The crew didn't seem quite ready for offering refreshments, and I had to go and ask for water several times. The snacks weren't very ubstantial, and having a good 4-5 hours in between meals was hard for me as I had been traveling for a long time already."

Announcements were to difficult to understand. Also in the gate area, I couldn't understand names at all. Need to slow down and speak more clearly."
Contra: "My flight was cancelled due to the pilots' strike. I only learned about this when I attempted online check in. Lufthansa never attempted to notify me. Then when I called in to the Romania Service Center to rebook, the phones went down in the middle of the call. That is understandable given the extreme volume of calls they were handling. What is unacceptable, is that they made no attempt to contact me once the phones were up. I ended up calling the U.S. service center at 1am local time to rebook...only 3 hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It took an hour - which I paid for at direct dial international rates - to find a flight. I'm very grateful for the U.S. service rep who was kind and helpful. She was the one bright spot in this poorly handled situation."
Contra: "11 hours of crying babies was too much. The practice of placing 4 cribs together on the bulkhead encouraged one baby to set the others off screaming. The toddler siblings then started fussing, the parents were then jumping up and down, jostling the other passengers, it was a nightmare! Hated every minute of it."
Pro: "I liked how organized the crews are. The flight attendants are driven by efficiency. Things were done quickly like serving drinks and water. Appreciated having the hand towel to wipe the hands before serving the meals."
Contra: "I fly economy class with United and Lufthansa when I travel from the US to Asia or Europe. Lufthansa seats feel narrower. I am only 1.62 meters in height. I felt there was not enough room for a 12+ hour flight (delayed by one hour). The small leg room began to take a toll after 6 hours of flight."
Contra: "Boarding was delayed by 30 minutes but they did not inform us of the delay so everyone stood in line the entire time."
Contra: "Despite calling 2 weeks ahead of the flight, I did not have a vegetarian meal for this flight or the leg from SFO to Frankfurt. The other flights had the correct meal selection. The plane did not have private screens, only access to personal devices, but it was difficult to keep my device charged to watch a full movie. With an 11 hour flight, that was definitely disappointing."

There was not enough space to accommodate people waiting in the basement so people had to stand on stairs or by the galley. Contra: "Terminal procedures, particularly a tarmac delay and understaffed customs and security personnel, jeopardized my London Heathrow connection in spite of the 80 minute layover. Itineraries with less than a two-hour connection should be discontinued as a fraudulent misrepresentation of the passenger's likely success. I will never fly through Heathrow again."

Contra: "Wifi wasn't working and movie selection poor. No individual screens especially for a 10 hr flight. Staff were not that friendly either. Old plane and small seats. I would rather pay more for a more comfortable flight."

Contra: "This was one of the most uncomfortable flights I've ever been on. The extra cushion attached to the chairs behind our heads made the chairs very uncomfortable pushing our heads too far forward. Not only was it difficult to sleep, it ended up giving me a terrible back and neck ache. The flight from Dubrovnik to Munich didn't have this extra cushion but the flight from Munich to San Francisco did. It's a terrible feature and should be removed. Lastly, the food on this flight was awful and it made me sick. I traveled in Croatia and Montenegro for 2 weeks and didn't get sick once but I got sick from the airline food on the way home, that's pretty disgusting."
Pro: "Lufthansa really knows how to run an airline, there was a one day strike the day before our departure for SFO, we thought for sure the airport would be a disaster, all through the strike we were updated on our flight status via email, when we arrived to the airport from Florence, we were in a brand new airport terminal, the flow was flawless the plane was on time and you would never know there was any disruption, unlike the US the airport is a mess for days, we would fly Lufthansa anytime."
