In the US, I would have been put on the next available flight fee of charge. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

Contra: "The pre-boarding experience was bad and at times a little arrogant as well. I boarded Turkish three times, once in San Francisco, second in Istanbul and third in Barcelona. While the experience of boarding the flight was good in Barcelona, the crew sitting at the flight information desk in Istanbul and the crew sitting on the counter wasn't very helpful and plain arrogant at times. This was the crew providing information in Istanbul: Me: Hi, could you please tell me the meal plan selected for my next flight? Crew: (shouting) You dont have a connecting flight hence no meal is provided to you. What are you doing here you should be at your terminal immediately. Next!! (I was 8 min away from my terminal and asking this question 30 minuted before my boarding time). After handing her my passport, this was the lady who greeted me at the check-in counter in San Francisco: Lady: Is Istanbul your final destination Me: Actually I have flights from Istanbul to Barcelona and then later to (interrupted) Lady: Sir, your final destination is Istanbul (harsher tone). Me: (Not sure what to make out of that information) Could you check because I have booked some more flights later. Lady: (laughing at me now) Do you understand what I said, your flight destination is Istanbul. Lady: (Now I was a little angry because of the language and the tone) Ok whatever check me in. She now starts processing my check-in. Suddenly starts smiling to the other passenger on my right. Gets up starts talking to them. Comes back after a couple of minutes. Then she checks the other flights Lady: You have a flight after two days to Barcelona. Do you have a visa for that? Me: Yes. And then we just leave without saying anything else. I later found out what she meant. Rule says I have to check-out my bags whenever I have a flight after 24 hours and therefore my final destination was Istanbul. There was a better way to tell us about this for sure."

Pro: "Loved the nice service, loved fresh squeezed orange juice and that they offer home made lemonade! great food and really nice service. I just wish the spacing between rows would be better."

They offer better service, better menu choices, and first class seating for the same price. Easy decision."

Upon the Munich landing, eight of us were escorted on a special bus, with a special pass controll and on special routs to make sure we get on the plane on time. Our laggage managed to get on the same plane as well. Thank you Lufthansa!"

At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

Pro: "I flew in Business Class from JFK to Munich and then back to JFK via Frankfort. Both flights were on time and very smooth overall in both directions. The cabin crew was good both ways and all spoke English well. Lufthansa long haul flights still use the older 2 x 2 x 2 seating arrangement (unlike the more modern and common 1 x 2 x 1 arrangement where all seats have aisle access)...so if you don't want someone crawling over you trying to get to the toilet while you are trying to sleep be sure to choose a center seat (both with direct aisle access.) While not totally uncomfortable, the Lufthansa business class sleeper seats are narrower...less well padded...and have less recline options than those used by most other long haul airlines, especially the very narrow foot-wells. The pillows and blankets could be better too. The food was OK - but not on a par with what most other airlines serve on long haul flights. The JFK to Munich flight was non-problematic in all respects. However, there was a screaming baby in my aisle (Row 4 on a 747-8 only 2 seats away from me) on the Frankfort to JFK leg...which I found TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
Contra: "What airline would permit a lap baby (less than 2 years old...a periodic screamer...and totally unmanageable by its solo-travelling mother) to occupy it's Business Class section on a 7+ hour flight - while inconveniencing (and aggravating) all other nearby Business Class passengers who paid thousands of dollars/euros to ride in Business Class so they don't have to put up with this kind of nonsense? The answer is: "LUFTHANSA!!! And YES, this actually happened on my Frankfort to JFK flight (LH 400 on 23 January 2017.) I'm not sure if the woman in question paid for two seats or not but this unmanageable kid finally calmed down and fell asleep - but he did so in the seat next to her. If this unmanageable lap kid was allowed to do everything he did (including to use a Business Class seat for free IF that is what actually happened) then this just adds insult to injury. WAKE UP LUFTHANSA!!! People pay huge sums to ride in Business Class to avoid this situation - and it's time you BANNED this situation from even occurring."

Contra: "Late flight with no explanation for the delay until after boarding left passengers in the dark and in some cases unable to communicate travel changes (when they could have used the airport wifi if notified in a timely manner)."

I haven't flown on many non-U.S. airlines, but when it comes to cabin service, Lufthansa blows away any U.S. airline I've flown on, including long overseas flights!"

Contra: "There was a two and a half hour delay for technical problems for our flight from Warsaw to Los Angeles on Tuesday July 24, 2018. There had been a two-hour delay for my flight in from Warsaw to Moscow, also for technical problems, on Friday July 13, 2018. Obviously, LOT needs to insure its planes are safe, but it needs to do so sufficiently in advance of take-off so that its passengers are not inconvenienced by lengthy delays."

Well the flight from Warsaw to Berlin, operated by LOT was horrible! No snacks no drinks, not even water on a 2hour flight! Shame on you! I had my wedding gown with me and I asked one of the crew members to put it in one of the closets design for this. And in a broken English she told me 'ya there is a problem' and she showed me the closet, it was full with the crew luggage :( We ended up laying the gown on one seat that was empty! When we arrived at our destination and picked up our luggage we noticed that they broke one of the wheels. Overall very ugly experience with LOT!!!"

This made for an approximate 6 hour delay, with minimal comfort, food, water, info or sympathy throughout, nor an offer to switch our flights and/or provide night accommodation due to the 5+ hour delay on this evening flight (as is within our passenger rights.) The plane finally arrived to JFK way after 1 a.m., which completely ruined weekend work and social plans, not to mention how exhausting and disrespectful of an experience it was. PLEASE NOTE THAT EVERY SINGLE OF THE FOUR LOT FLIGHTS I'D UNDERTAKEN THAT WEEK WERE DELAYED IN A SIMILAR FASHION - AS IN, WITH LITTLE INFO OR EXCUSE. No, thanks, Lot - and you should refund us all."

Pro: "Nice new plane (Dreamliner) with a lot of overhead space for hand luggage."
Contra: "There is less leg room than on other international carriers. I am tall and found it quite uncomfortable. I was also surprised by how bad the food was - worst airline food I have ever had on both trips. Sadly, also the most unfriendly air crew as well. Also, unlike international flights with Air Canada, you have to pay for alcohol (though the prices are pretty good)."

Contra: "Kayak listing indicated this would be a 737, have wifi, power and in-flight entertainment. Plane was Embrair XR that had a whopping 10 rows of economy despite being a 7-8 hour flight over the Atlantic! No wifi, no power and the "entertainment" was an iPad with 10 obscure movies loaded on it. Seating was so limited, and online checkin so poor was stuck with a middle seat. Only positive on this flight was the friendly crew members. False advertising all around otherwise."

I booked another flight with another carrier, and did not take this flight., not do I plan to book with them in the future That being said, it is not the job of the employee to defend a poorly working system. Services need upgrade asap."

When I tried to change the baggage weight to 32kg a charge was added for NOT taking the case PLUS the extra for the 32kg case! The cost of a case is reasonable and I would advise to pay the extra £5 for 32kg for most flights. The on-line Seating Selection is also unreliable, I was seated next to an empty seat which had been showing to be unavailable on-line! A response to my query which I sent to Blue Air arrived when I was in the air on the flight! It only repeated the baggage section of the Confitions document! Thank goodness for the excellent airport check-in staff and the Flight Crew!"

Always get seats together with easyJet but not Ryanair and you could tell by the splitting of other people there wasn't an attempt to seat together. On the way over I was sat next to the partner of the person my girlfriend was sat next to."

However, they were very sneaky and misleading, bec. they sent us an email saying that we must check in 2 hours before flight time -- here are their exact words: "Online check-in is up to 2 hours prior to departure. " so we got up at 4:30 am to get to airport exactly 2 hours before to check in online, but online check-in was closed. then at the counter they told us we had to pay 50 Euros each, extra for not checking in online."
