Ryanair priced the tickets for our flights, for my wife and I at $40 for both of us. By the time we ended up paying for everything it was $533. They said we get priority boarding which really meant nothing. Yes we got to be the first ones on the bus, but once the bus got to the plane, whoever got off the bus first was the one who actually had priority. And then our next flight from Manchester there was no priority boarding. However got to the door of the terminal and was the first to walk out to the plane, they had priority boarding.
Staff was helpful and nice. Spoke in italian as well as english
Contra: "Ryanair announced that we could postpone the flights without any cost due to corona virus and when I tried to reach them/to change the flight date the change tax was still there."
Contra: "A bit more space but for the price you can’t really complain"
Contra: "I did not check in online and was charged a huge fee, 55 euro to be exact. It would have been a nice reminder from the airline to have emailed with reminder to do so and what kind of fee I would be expecting to pay if I did not check in. Very ridiculous and rude customer service."
Pro: "N/A did not fly."
Contra: "I had a medical emergency, and these are non refundable so I contacted the airline to let them know I would not be on the flight so I would not be held further accountable for our absence."
Pro: "Cheap easy way to fly"
Contra: "Creamed way too many people on bus at airport. Boarding way hectic and crowded"
Pro: "The flights were on time and everything was very organized."
Pro: "On time great service"
Pro: "Crew and flight was ok"
Contra: "Checkin was the worst nightmare I have ever seen."
Contra: "It would be an impressive feat, seeing that in regular flights is already annoying, with little sleep and no explanation for the delay whatsoever it would be nice."
Pro: "good value for price."
Contra: "disorganized boarding, charged me another 57 euro on top of the extra i paid for priority boarding with 2 carry-on. my luggage fit the size but "stuck" out a little so the staff charged me for over-sized."
Pro: "The crews not nice!"
Contra: "We wait a long time to board!"
Contra: "The gate for boarding was supposed to close at 1205pm but they didn’t announce the gate until 11:30am. The flight was supposed to take off at 12:35pm but there was no announcement of delay, all of the attendants said that everything was on schedule, yet boarding didn’t even start until 1230pm. They randomly took people out of line and told them their bags were too big and made them pay 50 euro, even though their bags still went in the same hold and they were no bigger than anyone else’s when later compared. It was an international flight and multiple people didn’t even have to show their passports. Then on the plane we sat on the runway for about another hour and didn’t takeoff until 1:40pm. The take off was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. The seats were basically lawn chairs glued to the ground and the aisles aren’t large enough for the crew so they were constantly bumping everyone in the aisle seats. The landing felt like the plane was going to flip over and crash and then on top of everything we were told that Ryanair didn’t have enough employees to take our luggage off of the plane."
Contra: "Central Naples to Central London lasted 16 hours door to door! No proper explanation is given as to when to expect the flight to depart even roughly. People were kept standing up, waiting. Vouchers given for refreshments were valid in two places, one of them outside the airport! Somebody who couldn't use her voucher wanted to use it on the plane and it was not accepted."
Pro: "Crew was friendly."
Contra: "Delayed two hours, cramped seating, nickel and diming on anything possible ."
Contra: "Delyed flight for 1h30min"
Pro: "We arrived safely"
Contra: "Said on time until we arrived at airport gate- then said delay with no reason given and no one to speak to. Estimated time kept getting pushed back. If had known if long delay would have stayed in Santander and enjoyed day. Poor customer service and frustrating delays."
Pro: "Airport was convenient for our visit"
Contra: "Flight was delayed and uncomfortable"
Pro: "two days before a bank holiday to Ibiza, this was significantly cheaper than other airlines. Departed on time"
Contra: "Waiting for check in look about 50 minutes. When I got to the front I was 1kg over the allowed 20kg and had to leave to pay £11 at another counter and come back to check in. Note the allowance on other airlines are 23kg. Security screened my hand luggage twice. The reason was that the chargers for the camera, laptop, phone, etc was 'too dense in the bag' and had to be done seperately. This took about 25minutes. I am glad I arrived at the airport two hours before take off because by the time I checked in and passed security, there was just enough time to buy food and walk to the boarding gate. The flight itself was noisy. People played music and danced in the aisle, the cabin crew just left it and did not serve the middle of the plane. But the party goers brought their own drink on board and kept going."
Pro: "We arrived"
Pro: "Cabin baggage management"
Contra: "Hold baggage took over half an hour to arrive. Loot enough seats in gate at airport of departure"
Pro: "We checked in as soon as possible to try to get descent seats. However the assigned us two middle seats , one in the front of the plane and one in the back. It seemed like they were trying to give us the worst possible seats so that we would pay the extra to pick a seat. Almost all the other seats were open if we paid. We had already paid for priority boarding. Very disappointed."
Pro: "The pilot was friendly."
Contra: "The comfort was terrible. And moreso for people with back issues. Overall, the comfort affected the whole flight."
Pro: "No frills, got to Malta for a very affordable price"
Contra: "La vente à bord de façon instante par l'équipage Ryanair."
Pro: "Standard Ryan air. Cheap but professional"
Contra: "Small and uncomfortable airplane. No organization for boarding. They charge a 50€ fee if you don’t check in online, but the online app also purposefully separates passengers so you have to purchase seats together. So many fee charges not worth the aggravation."
Contra: "I did my reservation online and they asked me to pay 50 euro because it not completed I already did first step and second strip but than no response from your website I came to the airport 3 hours before departure to a void the problem but office was closed"
Contra: "The flight was delayed by 45 mins without any announcements as to why. Also-you can't recline the seats!!!"
Pro: "I was warned by my son to read all of the fine print, so I had no problems. For someone who doesn't know to do this, I could see where there could be questions and confusion."
Contra: "It was very hard to navigate their site but finally succeeded. Then when went to printoarding passes had to pay additional fees for luggage, then additional fees for a seat. Seems a cheap way to fly at first but all their fees add up and it turns out they are much more. When you check in online they don't send your boarding passes to your email which makes it hard to have them printed by the hotel. For NUMEROUS reasons I would NOT fly Ryanair in the future!"
Contra: "It was 2h late Seats are not reclinable"
Pro: "I showed up at the airport I checked in I got in line I boarded I flew to my destination I got off I left in a rental car all without a single issue. I flew from Edinburgh to Dublin in one hour for 25 dollars. I have had more things go wrong ordering pizzas from Dominos for delivery that cost more"
Contra: "I did not buy any food or drink so I can't comment I did not have to check or pay bag fees because I followed directions so I can't comment I knew exactly what 25 dollars gets me so the fact it had 2 wings and working engines and competent pilots was a pure bonus Ryan Air you have a fan"
Contra: "Had to pay 36 euros to get printed boarding passes."
Contra: "Ryanair charges 50 Euro per person to check in at the airport!!! Never heard of such a thing and was caught completely blindsided by having to pay such a ridiculous fee for doing what all airlines everywhere do for free!"
Contra: "Made us pay $35 per bag to check. This was not made obvious when book. Lady at check in did not tell us one of our bags was too large to check in. Will try to avoid Ryanair at ALL costs in the future."
Contra: "So many hidden fees. Boarding was very unorganized. In fact, the entire flight was unorganized and uncomfortable. I would never fly RyanAir again!"
Pro: "Boarding using the planes fore and aft doors certainly speeds the process..."
Contra: "Seats are uncomfortable and the pitch is tight for 6 + footers"
Pro: "very reasonable rates-initially, except for: ......"
Contra: "hidden surcharge if you don't check in ahead of time, you end up paying almost double the ticket price!! Pretty much a bate and switch deal to make you pay more."
Contra: "Flight was delayed by two hours which had a knock on effect to the day. Chose the 10am flight to be home by midday for an event in the afternoon. The delay meant I was not home till 17:30."
Pro: "crew very professional and friendly and boarding was quick and efficient.."
Contra: "flight price extortionate......flight delayed by over an hour resulting in me missing my bus connection and having to wait 2 hrs at airport"
Pro: "How helpful they were"
Contra: "Only use this airlines, if you don't have any luggage, if you don't care about reaching somewhere on time, if you don't care that every single step there is an extra cost. I plan to NEVER use this airlines again."
Pro: "There is nothing that I like about this trip. It was a horrible experience and probably it will be my last time booking with Kayak. And I will make sure to let friends and co workers know to not use this website, unless you do something about this issue."
Contra: "Our flight was at 6:35am from Rome to Greece. We took an Uber to get to Ciampino Airport cause the trains don't work until 4:30 or 5am. So we get to this crappy airport and it was closed. We see people sitting outside in the stairs, sleeping on the few benches that was there and on the ground. Finally around 4am the airport opens and have to be in line waiting another half an hour for the people of Ryanair to come to the counter. When is our turn they told us that we have to go to another counter around the corner to pay for the laugagge and because we didn't print our ticket I tried to print my ticket all day the day I bought it and the website didn't allow me. I kept requesting for a code over and over again thinking I was doing something wrong but the bottom to click just didn't process anything. So I thought with my confirmation number for the booking I will be fine at the airport to get my boarding pass. Well no. They charged us 50 euros per laugagge,, that didn't have any extra weight (11 kilos each laugagge and 50 euros for not printing the ticket. So we paid 300 euros for the 3 of us Now I know why the website didn't accept the request to print the tickets on line cause they wanted to charge ppl extra. And I was not the only one with this issue there were other people in line with the same problem. This is one of the worse airlines ever! Totally scam. They don't give you nothing on the flight not even water. Cause they try to sell it to you. Food, water, snacks. Beware this company is a scam and provide a horrible costumer service."
Pro: "We got to our destination. Our bags arrived at our destination."
Contra: "1. Despite a delay of over 3 hours, RyanAir provided neither reimbursement nor meal vouchers, despite both being required by EU law. 2. Our boarding passes said, "if your flight is cancelled or delayed for at least two hours, ask at the ticket counter or boarding gate for the text stating your rights, particularly with regard to compensation and assistance." When we learned the flight would be delayed 2+ hours, we followed these directions; the gate agents told us, quite dismissively, that it applied only in case of a 3-hour delay. After wrestling with NAP's snail-pace wifi, I found the relevant text on the RyanAir website and showed it to a gate agent. She said her supervisor had told her that it had to be a delay of 3 hours but that she would check with her. I never heard from her again. It became a moot point when the flight was delayed more than 3 hours. Even then, the gate agents did none of the things the text said they were supposed to do. 3. The gate agents were not RyanAir employees, and it seemed RyanAir did not communicate with them in a helpful way. Independent of this, though, they were also just not competent. Here are some other things that happened: - About 2 hours after the scheduled departure, despite there being no plane at the gate, one of the gate agents started the boarding process. He let about 30-40 people into the holding pen; then a passenger pointed out that the delay had increased another hour. The passengers in the holding pen had to stay in there (one asked to leave to use the restroom and the gate agent told him he would have to surrender his passport while he was gone). - Once the 3-hour delay was posted, they started handing out gate check tags like candy. It was unclear why; perhaps they thought it would soothe the passengers' anger. We did not request one then. When we boarded, my wife asked for one. The gate agent did not even acknowledge her request (despite still having a good number left). - When the plane did arrive, the passengers in the holding pen rushed the door of the jetway. About 15 made it into the jetway (and, I guess, onto the plane) before a gate agent shouted at everyone to stop, ran over, and closed the jetway doors. 4. In other news... passengers were loud and rude. When the delay was first posted, they formed an angry mob around the gate agents and yelled questions that could have been answered by reading the monitor. Half of them had their seat belts off and were standing as soon as the plane landed. The whole row behind me was so loud I couldn't hear the music coming form my earbuds. The guy behind me pushed me as we were getting off the plane because he thought I wasn't going fast enough. Needless to say, no one should ever fly RyanAir."
