Just when I thought it couldn't be worse, captain announced that they were having trouble with the AC for my part of the plane, meaning 7 hour flight was hotter than 80 degrees. I should also mention that trash was not collected until breakfast service."

We had one immigration officer for 2 lanes including the fast lane, what is the point of it. After immigration the automatic system did not let us in the boarding area. We were redirected by staff to leave the secure area without any clear explanation of what to do next. When we arrive in the ticketing area, we, several of us, went to try to go through security. That is when we were told we missed the connection. Then we were told to go to B1, after waiting in line we were told to go to zone E for reticketing. At which point I went in standby, only passenger from the group following to Edinburgh, did not make the 2nd flight either. Waited 6 hours at Heathrow..,"

Contra: "The food served from Washington to London was very good. However,food served from London-Lagos though good but i was surprised that when the cabin crew who served our compartment told me that my choice of lunch was no more available in the plane to served me. Simply, they ran out of chicken and rice when it got to my turn. I had to demand to speak with the manager who came to speak with me & had to go to business class wing to get me a meal to eat. The manager was very understanding & nice.She took good care of me & fulfilled my desire.She made me happy. In conclusion,every flight should always have more than enough food to go round every parssenger in every flight in the future."
Pro: "I've boarded flight half this size in twice the amount of time it took to board this Airbus A388. I enjoyed sitting on the upper deck. It was a night flight to London from DC, so I closed my eyes straight away, and didn't partake in any of the meal or entertainment options available. Flight crew was very nice and personable."

Contra: "Online check-in was not possible, neither on ba.com nor on aer lingus (flight was operated by aer lingus). I had not possibility to choose a seat. I called are lingus consumers services who said this was due to the fact, that I had a BA booking. At the airport I was told most seat were pre-reservered. There was no indication during the booking process that this might be the case. The plane was rather small, with litte space. I am rather small person and had difficulties."

We were on a double decker and my little sister was on a different level from me. They wouldn't let me down to go see her after we were delayed for a couple hours. Ran out of food choices by the time they got to us. Because it was so large, boarding and unboarding took FOREVER. Finally, it was HOT. Uncomfortably so, both levels were extremely warm and there are no personal vents that you can open above your head. I would not fly this again."

Also another inch or 2 was taken by person in front of me putting their seat back. With such restrictive space why is this even possible??? Flying has become ridiculous and I try not to as much as I can."

Contra: "Passport control with new computer ID checks was fast. Baggage was slow coming. I booked through Netflights and they didn't book me a good seat. If I could have changed it myself they should have told me. On the way to Tampa on 3rd March I couldn't check in within 24 hours and had to wait half an hour while they changed our plane. BA used to do short science programmes which I loved. Shame these have finished."

Pro: "Friendly, helpful flight attendants. Flight left and arrived on time, despite being completely full (asking for volunteers to bump). Offered to gate-check our carry-on bags for free to alleviate crowding of overhead bins was fine for us since we already had checked baggage."
Contra: "If you don't pay for the premium seats, the legroom is pretty tight. I'm only 5'8" and I felt it -- if you're 6'+ you better pay for it. This aircraft had screens, but not individual ones so you're stuck watching whatever sitcom replay they pick, although there is a moderate selection of other music. I've been on a newer aircraft with the in-seat power and interactive screens so I know how good it can be, so this was a little disappointing."

The only thing I noticed was a generally blasé attitude by the flight attendant when our toddler woke up to ear pain during descent. Her colleagues on the previous leg had been much more helpful. She wasn't rude - just left us to manage the crying, which we were fine to do for what I am sure felt like an eternity to fellow passengers."

It might have been a good idea to give her oxygen...upon landing, we were told that there would be a wheelchair at the gate (never appeared), and while we were waiting for it, the crew ignored us, only concerning themselves with the location of the nearest Starbucks in the terminal, then left us with a staff member who had no idea about the wheelchair, didn't give us any sort of ice pack. ....we finally just gave up and slowly and carefully walked to baggage claim"

Pro: "The flight from DC to Toronto was late around four hours and after we got on the plane We went back and we were waiting at the airport while get more fuel and which repaired the fault on the plane. so I was late for my next flight to FrankfurtSo I was put on a flight to Frankfurt with a connection in Lisbon.In the end, my suitcase was lost and I got it only two days later. Never I will no longer use AirCanada small planes !"
Contra: "Cancelled flight and didn't even tell me a reason. They couldn't even make reservation for hotel. Hotel sent me back to airport because i didn't have voucher which AIr Canada guys said they can't make one? Everything didn't make sense. And they told me not to come again. They took like... whole day to book another flight. And i had hard time understanding what they were saying."
Contra: "Flight was over two hour late. Customer service did nothing to help. Suggested I figure out my connection in Los Angeles. Get on the plane and the entertainment system not working. No one willing to help. Land in Los Angeles and had to wait 20 minutes for a gate. So not only did I miss my connection flight, I have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get on a flight"
Pro: "On the whole it was a pleasant experience despite the flight being late."
Contra: "I thought that the flight being delayed by almost 2 hours was terrible. That should not have happened."
Pro: "Nothing - they were immature, unprofessional, nervous, unhelpful, and visibly shaken by relatively side problems."
Contra: "The flight was delayed for hours but not technically cancelled, which the ground crew blamed upon the flight crew and vice versa. The failure to cancel caused us to be unable to rebook, and subsequent avoidable delays arising from Air Canada's ineptitude caused us to be two,days late for arrival. The problem was solvable with some simple rebooking, but the ground,crew failed to assist, then the flight crew, when we finally left five hours late, was Impersonable, unhelpful, uninformed, and utterly unprepared. It was a terrible, second rate, poor quality experience and I would not recommend Air Canada to anyone. Your airline needs serious training in Professionalism and responsiveness."

I reached the airport and on being checked at the counter, I was told that I cannot board because I don't have a Canadian visa. It was shocking to learn that I needed visa for a 1.5 hour layover. The website should give a prompt or should share the requirements. And all my ticket money got wasted."

Contra: "I think a "red-eye" should automatically include at least a pillow (whether or not you were in first class) and an attempt to keep the lights off in the cabin. Our carry-on luggage had to be far behind us and on the other side of the plane. If you would board the rear first and have each passenger keep their carry on above their own seat this would eliminate this problem and the congestion in the aisles which occurs because of it."
Pro: "The ground crew were always nice and friendly. They worked hard to deal with delayed flight, missed connection, and tight alternate connection. Flight crew were also friendly and helpful."
Contra: "Four-hour flight delay released in one hour increments without announcement -gate displayed "on time departure" for the duration of the delay. Our hassles were compensated with meager meal vouchers given too late, There was no pre-boarding on our flight (just one big cattle call) which made boarding with child and gear extra awkward,"
Contra: "The flight was 3 hours delayed and we were not kept informed. In fact, the airport boards still displayed that this flight was on time, which was not correct. I kept getting emails of a change in schedule, but no reason was given by personnel at the gate. This was really a bad situation for me as I was meeting my daughter in Toronto who was flying alone with her infant son and she needed my help."

The staff seemed very new and was unable to get us out of the airport in a timely fashion which caused a few people to miss their international connecting flights."

Contra: "My wife and I traveled with bicycles packed in standard boxes and got hit with a whopping $230 charge per bicycle out of the blue. We were expecting no charge because the bicycles were our only check-in baggage for the trip. Couldn't believe the lack of transparency with which we got hit with this charge. Qantas, Air New Zealand, and other airlines we've taken bikes with us on our flights have charged nothing when we traveled in the same fashion. So, if you are a bicyclist traveling with your bicycle, I'd avoid the United-Lufthansa duo."
